Pigeons Playing Ping Pong — the high-energy funky four-piece hailing from Baltimore, MD — are pleased to announce their winter 2018 tour dates in addition to details for the ninth gathering of their annual music festival, Domefest. This excitement comes on the heels of the band’s fourth studio release, Pizazz, out now.

The 2018 winter tour kicks off on February 7th in State College, PA, followed by dates in Rochester, NY and Stroudsburg, PA with support from Broccoli Samurai. On Saturday, February 10th, the band hits the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ with support from Juice, followed by midwest dates in Bloomington, IN, Grand Rapids, MI, Milwaukee, WI and Minneapolis, MN. The tour then heads west making stops in Omaha, NE, Jackson, WY, Salt Lake City, UT, with two Colorado stops — Durango and Denver — before heading to Lawrence, KS, St. Louis, MO and Detroit, MI. Dates from February 27th to March 15th will see support from Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers.

All newly announced dates are on sale this Friday, December 1st at 10 am local time. Check the band’s website and Facebook for more information. A list of all upcoming tour dates can be found below.

As if this winter tour run was not exciting enough, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are eager to share details for the 2018 installment of their own music festival, Domefest. This year’s festivities are set to take place May 17th - 19th, 2018 at Fort Royale Farm in Bedford, PA for the third consecutive year. 2018 marks the ninth installment of Domefest, but the band feels as though, “we found our home in Bedford.” In the words of festival organizer and Pigeons’ guitarist Jeremy Schon, “We love the site, we love the crowd, and we can’t wait to see everyone back on the farm for another wild three nights in the woods.”

Stay tuned to the Domefest Facebook and website for additional details, including ticketing information and lineup announcements. Last year’s Domefest welcomed performances from The Main Squeeze, Consider The Source, Aqueous and other regional touring acts, while Pigeons Playing Ping Pong played four hard-hitting sets over the weekend.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have a history of playing special-themed sets for their Halloween and New Year's Eve shows, and this year is no exception. For members of The Flock attending the New Year's Eve party Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are planning at the Madison Theater in Covington, KY on Sunday, December 31st, there's a real treat in store. Today, the band has detailed the night's theme – DISNYE: A Whole New Year. That's right, the night is going to be Disney-themed!

"The DISNYE idea has been brewing within the band for a few years and we're so excited to finally play the music that we all grew up on," remarks frontman, Greg Ormont. "We always love playing at Madison Theater and we're just bursting with ideas for this one. Let's just say, be prepared."

Attendees of the Madison Theater show can expect a rare set of original and cover songs, teases and mashups, a musical countdown to 2018 and maybe even some never-before-heard material. Check out Pigeons Playing Ping Pong's "Horizon > Help On The Way > Eyes Of The World > Fool In The Rain > D'yer Mak'er > Fool In The Rain > Horizon" cut from their special "Dead Zeppelin" 2015 Halloween set at 9:30 Club in D.C. here for a sense of what's in store.

It is not too late to snag tickets to the Pigeons Playing Ping Pong NYE spectacular; those can still be purchased here. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of show, of course, if the show does not sell out before the 31st. The band will kick off the weekend with a 2-night run at Cleveland's Beachland Ballroom on December 29th and 30th; tickets are available here for night 1 and here for night 2.

2018 promises big plans for the band, who have already announced their first round of 2018 winter tour dates, as well as initial details for Domefest 2018, their annual camping music festival in Bedford, PA. A full list of announced upcoming dates can be found below. Denver has quickly become a hot pocket for the live music scene and there’s one local band taking notice of the unparalleled talent popping up around town; that’s Fox Street. For their second year in a row, the Denver locals will take over the historic Bluebird Theater during New Year's Eve weekend, this time curating three nights of unique musical performances, all by local musicians.

On December 29th, Fox Street invites Yamn to join the bill with Rossonian, while on December 30th, Analog Son and MLIMA will grace the stage alongside Fox Street. Finally, on December 31st, Fox Street is excited to play with Mama Magnolia while the band celebrates their upcoming vinyl LP release.

Fox Street holds the honor of playing New Year’s Eve at the Bluebird in high regard as a local artist. “To get to play a premiere venue, such as the Bluebird, in our hometown, is a very big honor and such a blast,” shares Fox Street drummer, Eric Low. He continues, “Just getting the opportunity to play a single show is huge, let alone three nights. Especially in Denver, since we have such a competitive and vibrant live music scene.”

This show is important to the guys of Fox Street for another reason; as of last year, the band has been much choosier about their live performance because one of their core members is no longer “local.” Low explains, “Our beloved singer Jonathan “Skippy " Huvard has been in Brooklyn this past year working on some other amazing projects and we have all been playing and growing personally in many different projects and ways. We are using all this new energy and information to come back bigger and stronger as a unit and come together creatively and musically at the highest level possible.”

In a vibrant scene such as Denver — with numerous concerts happening around town — Fox Street thinks it is important to highlight the local scene running rampant in Denver. “Our vision is to cultivate an annual New Year's Eve event that is centered around Denver local bands and the community,” explains Low. He continues, “It's easy to open up Facebook or the Westword and see a myriad of awesome stuff planned for New Year’s celebrations along the front range and when you start to look at the acts in the theaters and bigger venues, none of those artists are local. We are the only option if you want to come see the best local bands Denver has to offer.”

Fox Street's 3-night NYE run is on-sale now and tickets can be purchased here for 12/29, here for 12/30 and here for 12/31. Every night is 16+ with ticket prices ranging from $10 - $25. During the run, doors open at 8:00 pm with music beginning around 9:00 pm.

With a name like Mungion (pronounced mung-yin) it may be hard to take these guys seriously, but one thing is for sure, this band has some serious chops. Since their inception in Spring of 2015, the Chicago-based four-piece has quickly made a name for themselves as rising stars of the improvised music landscape. Composed of Justin Reckamp (guitar/vocals), Joe Re (keyboards/vocals), Sean Carolan (bass/vocals) and Matt Kellen (drums/vocals), the band is rooted in their ambitious compositions and improvisational abilities, offering up a raucous and joyous sound that’s guaranteed to have you smiling ear-to-ear and leave you wanting more.

Beginning February 8th, Mungion embarks on their first headlining tour, which comes as triumphant news from a band that barely made it out of 2017 unscathed by misfortunes. Reckamp elaborates, "2017 was an absolute roller coaster for us! The highs were extremely high and we definitely had some lows." However, Mungion rode into 2018 on a high note by selling out every night of their first 3-night run at Chicago's Tonic Room over New Year's Eve weekend.

For their debut headlining tour, Mungion will begin in Kansas City, MO at Knuckleheads on February 8th, heading next to Little Rock, AR, Jackson, MS and New Orleans, LA. Two stops in Alabama follow, with dates at Zydeco in Birmingham and at Auburn's Bourbon St. Bar, before the band heads to Atlanta, GA for a performance at Vinyl. The band will then play two night's at Asheville Music Hall in Ashville, NC  for the official Umphrey's McGee afterparties before making their way up the coast to Washington D.C. and Brooklyn, NY for performance at Gypsy Sally's and the Knitting Factory, respectively. From there, Mungion will hit Allston, MA, Burlington, VT, Northampton, MA, Buffalo, NY, Grand Rapids, MI and Ferndale, MI with the tour concluding on March 2nd at Mousetrap in Indianapolis, IN. A list of full dates can be found below and tickets can be purchased now via the band's website

Known for their whimsical songs, goofy stage antics and undeniably explosive improvisations, Mungion’s jubilance is a natural extension of its members. Underlying the band’s quirky nature is their virtuosic musical abilities. This inherent talent and playfulness embolden the group to be fearless in the studio and on stage, making for live performances that are infectiously lighthearted, refreshingly energetic and deeply sincere. With sonically rich and vibrant compositions, the band’s critically acclaimed debut album, 2016’s ‘Scary Blankets’, proves that the sky’s the limit for Mungion. Additionally, a new record is expected later this year.

For the last nine consecutive years, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have curated an annual festival titled Domefest and the 2018 installment is set to take place May 17 - 19th at Fort Royale Farm in Bedford, PA. Tickets are on sale today, January 12th at 1 pm EST and can be purchased here: www.mt.cm/domefest-2018.

Cultivating a community of like-minded music fans sits at the forefront of the Pigeons-presented event. "We're back at the same incredible venue with lots of fresh and familiar faces," says Jeremy Schon, Domefest founder and guitarist of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. He elaborates, "Our family has grown quite a bit over the past few years and I can't wait to see everyone back on the farm."

It has now been nine years since then college senior Schon stumbled upon the original location of Domefest outside of College Park, MD. The dome-shaped roof and the proximity to the University of Maryland's campus inspired the guitarist — who was profoundly impacted by his own festival travels — to organize his very own one-day, one-night music and camping festival simply for his friends to enjoy.

"It was my first music festival experience and along with many of my closest friends, it completely opened my eyes to the powerful beauty of music, friendship and life," shares Pigeons Playing Ping Pong frontman, and now Domefest co-curator, Greg Ormont adding, "It was like nothing I had ever experienced."

While the festival has expanded into three days and nights, grown in size and cemented itself as the ultimate gathering of the Flock (the so aptly named fanbase of the band), it remains true to its roots. Domefest consistently books some of the best under-the-radar talents in the live music space, with festival alumni including Papadosio, Twiddle, Turkuaz, Tauk and Aqueous, to name a few. Artists are encouraged to intermingle with their fans and as a festival curated by touring musicians, Domefest aims to make it a meaningful experience for every artist invited to play.

The initial lineup includes five sets from the Pigeons themselves — who always treat their Domefest crowd to plenty of surprises and musical twists — plus performances by The Magic Beans, The Mantras, McLovins, The Fritz, Vibe & Direct, Backup Planet, West End Blend, Dead Scene, Squaring The Circle, Mateo Monk, Ernie Johnson From Detroit with more to be announced. Pigeons' Ormont is even scheduled to play a special solo set under his moniker Scrambled Greg this year.

Stay tuned to Domefest's official website, Facebook page and event page for future announcements including artist additions, complimentary workshops and ticketing updates.

"There are certain shows on any given tour that really stand out," says Mike Gantzer, vocalist and guitarist of the Buffalo-based quartet, Aqueous. He elaborates, "Maybe we were sleep-deprived, maybe it was a full moon – whatever it was, the Kalamazoo, MI show last November had that MAGIC."

Up until now, the show has been available to fans via nugs.net, but due to the overwhelming popularity on the streaming platform geared largely towards live music fanatics, the band has decided to release a formal live record — Live From Kalamazoo. While the record dropped last Friday, February 9th, as of today, Live From Kalamazoo can be found on all major streaming platforms, including AppleMusic & Spotify.

What exactly can unknowing listeners expect to find on the latest live release from Aqueous? Gantzer explains, "The band just clicked for both sets, and the improv sections all went way out there but stayed in a deep, danceable pocket all night." He goes on to say, "This particular show kept coming up amongst fans as one of their favorites of our fall 2017 tour, so we wanted to make it available for more people to enjoy by releasing it on all major platforms."

Last week, the band kicked off their spring 2018 tour with Papadosio. Find a list of all upcoming dates below and be sure to visit the band's website to purchase tickets or for more information on specific dates.

It’s a dream to be sharing stages with them this summer!” says Nahko. “It is equally pleasing to weave with their intention to support First Nations people, culture, and ways through charity, partnerships, and multimedia on this tour.  As a voice and advocate for Indigenous rights, social justice, and traditions it is important to me that we collaborate with music and art that aligns with our ideals and messaging.  There is magic brewing, I can feel it!  My hope is that Dispatch fans will feel the musical alchemy between all the bands and take courage, be inspired, and be moved to action.  Together, through music and action, we build bridges and walk them as a community sharing a mutual dream of harmony.”

The final lineup for Domefest's 9th annual run is finally here! And it's shaping up to be an epic jam-filled weekend. New additions include Broccoli Samurai, Mungion, Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers, Strange Machines, Flux Capacitor, Formula 5, Cycles, ShwizZ, Headless Robot and Schwa. In addition, the festival has announced a second set by The Magic Beans.

Additionally, this year's Domefest will see 5 sets of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, with special sets from side projects of the band members, including Scrambled Greg, the solo project from Pigeons' frontman Greg Ormont, and Schwa, featuring Pigeons' bassist Ben Carrey.

Of the final lineup, Domefest founder and guitarist of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Jeremy Schon, shared, "We hope that our fans leave with a laundry list of new favorite bands, which is what Domefest is all about. Alongside many of our familiar favorites, we're bringing in a lot of new bands that will blow everyone away. I couldn't be happier with the way this year’s lineup turned out!"

A limited allotment of $100 3-day passes are now on sale and can be purchased here.

More Info About Domefest:

For the last nine consecutive years, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have curated an annual festival titled Domefest and the 2018 installment is set to take place May 17 - 19th at Fort Royale Farm in Bedford, PA. Cultivating a community of like-minded music fans sits at the forefront of the Pigeons-presented event. "We're back at the same incredible venue with lots of fresh and familiar faces," says Schon. "Our family has grown quite a bit over the past few years and I can't wait to see everyone back on the farm."

It has now been nine years since Schon — during his senior year of college — stumbled upon the original location of Domefest outside of College Park, MD. The dome-shaped roof and the proximity to the University of Maryland's campus inspired the guitarist to organize his very own one-day, one-night music and camping festival simply for his friends to enjoy.

Stay tuned to Domefest's official website, Facebook page and event page for future announcements including artist additions, complimentary workshops and ticketing updates.

Aqueous has been taking the live music space by storm over the last year. The groove-rock quartet from Buffalo, NY has been touring nationally in support of heavyweights like Umphrey's McGee, moe. and Papadosio, as well as performing on numerous national and regional music festivals like The Peach Music Festival and Lockn'. They've certainly played shows in Colorado — like last year's inaugural Canyon Jam at the Mishawaka and a support slot during UM's most recent New Year's run — but Aqueous has yet to headline their very own high-profile show at one of the cities historic venues. That all changes June 9th, 2018 when Aqueous takes the stage at the Bluebird Theater in Denver, CO.

Tickets are on-sale this coming Friday, March 23rd at 10 am MST and can be purchased via the link here.

"Denver is by far one of AQ's favorite cities to play music in; Colorado just seems to totally get it, and some of our favorite sets of the past year have gone down out there," shares guitarist and vocalist Mike Gantzer. "We're gonna go really big for this Bluebird show, and we can't wait to rage properly with the CO fans on this one!"

After forming in Buffalo in 2006, Aqueous has earned a reputation as one of the most promising improvisational rock acts in the country. Best known for their “groove rock” stylings, guitarist/vocalist Gantzer, guitarist/keyboardist David Loss, bassist Evan McPhaden and drummer Rob Houk have developed a unique sound characterized by meticulous compositions and rich exploratory jams that easily transition from laidback, in-the-pocket grooves to furious, high-intensity peaks. Composed of longtime friends, over the years Aqueous’ members have developed near-psychic abilities with one another, enabling them to stretch each song while maintaining a staggering degree of precision. In a live setting, the group’s undeniable technical prowess truly shines, making for dynamic performances that bring fans back night after night.

Aqueous is available for in-studio performance and interviews. To request high-res assets or to schedule a time to speak, please reach out directly. For more information on Aqueous, please visit the band's website.

Singer/Songwriter Christina Holmes has announced her first headline tour in support of her second studio album, Stand Up.  The tour, dubbed the “Bring The People Together Tour,” will begin with a performance on the main stage of the Project Earth festival on June 16th and will make stops in Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, and Burlington. Christina will be inviting local musicians to perform on each date of the tour.  Tickets are now on sale here: http://www.christinaholmesmusic.com/tour.html

“It's been a long time coming but I wouldn't have it any other way” says Christina about this tour. “I am so excited to play these headline shows and showcase some local talent I've met along my journey. Everyone is looking for someone to give them a chance. Many have believed in me and given me the chance to shine, now it’s my turn to do the same!”

After launching her own label Cove House in 2017, Christina dove headfirst into her sophomore album, Stand Up, with producer Warren Huart [Colbie Caillat, James Blunt].  Following the album release, Christina embarked on a marathon of touring alongside Trevor Hall, Xavier Rudd, and Nahko of Medicine for the People.  Traveling from city to city she shared her musical message of empowerment and peace.  From the plaintive lyrical poetry and wind-swept soul of “Let My Music Free Your Soul” to the clarion call of “Stand Up,” her voice resounds with power and passion. The final track of Stand Up, “Always,” is perhaps one of her most personal, written after the passing of her dad David Holmes, Sr., it incorporates the last voicemail he left Christina. One of her must upbeat songs, “Positive Day,” captures Christina’s infectious energy and encourages people to see the light in their everyday life and to live life to the fullest.

Today, Spafford unveil their highly anticipated sophomore studio album, For Amusement Only, now available everywhere. This marks the band's first studio effort – and first ever LP release – in nearly 6 years. Spafford has been garnering acclaim on this most recent album cycle, with GuitarWorld praising "Leave The Light On," the record's lead single, "a bright, buoyant track that demonstrates the group's reggae influences, while also offering a tantalizing hint at the more improvisation-heavy side they demonstrate during their famous live performances," while the Washington Post applauded the group's "genre-defying live jams [and] offbeat covers," along their recent tour.

Recorded at I.V. Lab Studios in Chicago, For Amusement Only includes studio renditions of fan favorites "Leave the Light On," "Ain't That Wrong," and "Mind's Unchained," as well as new songs like "Fuel" and "When It Falls." Please find a full tracklisting below. In advance of the record, Spafford released a lyric video for "Leave The Light On," and guitarist Brian Moss penned a narrative for Relix surrounding the story behind "Ain't That Wrong," which can be read here.

Singer/songwriter Christina Holmes has released a performance video for “It Doesn’t Matter.”  The empowering track comes from her second studio album, Stand Up, and was filmed at Sugarshack Studios.  In the video, Christina shares an intimate acoustic performance of “It Doesn’t Matter.” The heartfelt performance further enhances the message of the song to be yourself and to live your truth.

“I want this song to help those who are struggling to be who they are. To help them realize they are good enough and will be loved no matter who they choose to love” shares Christina.

This summer Christina will embark on her first headline tour.  The tour, dubbed the “Bring The People Together Tour,” will begin with a performance on the main stage of the Project Earth festival on June 16th and will make stops in Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, and Burlington. Best known for his thrifty guitarwork in the Midwestern funk ensemble Vulfpeck, Cory Wong is excited to announce the release of his sophomore solo record, The Optimist, due out August 17th, 2018. Pre-order is going on now: www.corywongmusic.com.

Why The Optimist? At age 16, after suffering a concussive head injury, Wong had been told he had two weeks to live. Or maybe he would be fine. The doctors honestly weren’t sure why his right arm kept going numb, but following a month-and-a-half of visits and tests and second opinions, their best guess was that he had a blood clot with the potential to reach his brain at any moment. If that happened, death would be nearly instantaneous.

“‘No way I’m having a blood clot,’” the guitarist remembers saying to his 16-year-old self. “I’d worked way too hard to get my license and hang out with my friends that summer and nothing was going to get me down. I decided that if the worst might happen, all I could do was spend my remaining days doing what made me happy and spreading as much joy as I could in the world.”

Wong survived, of course, and while his symptoms eventually faded away, the relentlessly defiant brand of optimism he cultivated that summer never did. In fact, nearly two decades later, it forms the bedrock of his ecstatic new album, The Optimist. Recorded in spontaneous sessions with a series of all-star lineups, the collection showcases both Wong’s prodigious instrumental virtuosity and his broad emotional reach. The songs are profoundly funky, infectiously joyful, and as playful as they are peerless. Paired with his quirky music videos, the tracks feel retro and futuristic all at once. At a time of bitter political strife and deep cultural divisions, Wong has crafted something truly unifying: an album that delights in the pleasures of human connection and revels in the limitless possibility of artistic collaboration.

2017 was the first time the guitarist decided to step into the spotlight on his own, releasing a self-titled debut album that introduced the world to his quirky blend of high-octane musicianship and lo-fi visuals. The Current praised his “colorful, 90’s-infused aesthetic,” while The Irish Times described the music as “impeccable,” likening it to “the Swampers, Sly Stone, Weather Report and maybe a touch of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.” Wong’s never been one to rest on his laurels, though, and the dust hadn’t even settled on his debut before the wheels had already begun turning on his sophomore effort.

“I got a call one day from Ricky Peterson, who’s played organ with David Sanborn and George Benson,” says Wong. “He was coming to town, so I told him I had some tunes I was working on and we should get together and record them the following week. The only problem was I didn’t actually have any songs and I didn’t have a session booked.”

Ever the optimist, Wong willed it all into existence in just six days, penning a batch of brand new tracks and wrangling his longtime mentors from Prince’s band, drummer Michael Bland and bassist Sonny Thompson, to form a rhythm section. After the success of the initial session, Wong put together another day of recording in Minneapolis with an entirely new group, and then captured a third session in Nashville with the Ben Rector Band backing him up. All the while, Wong was sending the tracks off to collaborators near and far, including German star Marti Fischer (who recorded from Berlin), British singer KATIS (who recorded from London), and local legends The Hornheads.

“The Hornheads are best known as Prince’s horn section,” explains Wong, “and their leader, Michael Nelson, did most of the horn arrangements for Prince. The guys are all 20-30 years older than us, but we fit right in as friends because they love seeing young musicians with such passion. Michael told me that after Prince died, it was really fun for him to find a new artist to work with on stuff like this, and it’s been a great community-building thing. We even have a musicians’ racquetball club together now.”

Exhilarating album opener “Jax” finds The Hornheads in peak form, complementing Wong’s smooth-as-butter groove with punchy fills and breaks, while the soaring “’91 Maxima” pairs them with folk elder statesman Joe Savage, who gets trippy with his jaw harp and pedal steel. Though much of the album is instrumental, guest singers are peppered throughout the collection, bringing additional emotional depth to Wong’s acrobatic compositions. The elastic “Light As Anything” features soulful vocals from Ripe frontman Robbie Wulfsohn, while Vulfpeck singer Antwaun Stanley lends his considerable pipes to the aptly named “Jumbotron Hype Song,” and KATIS adds a charming breeziness to the bouncing “Juke On Jelly.”

As he did with his debut, Wong filmed each of the sessions and captured his remote collaborators recording in front of green screens so that he could dub them in to a series of accompanying music videos. Deliberately campy, the videos play out like old public access television shows captured on VHS tape, the kind of intentionally dated programming that would fit right in with the current lineup of Adult Swim. In addition to being wildly entertaining, the videos allow for Wong to make his concerts true multimedia events, with the green screen footage of his guest vocalists and collaborators projected onscreen to accompany the live band.

Hailed as a “multifaceted” artist by NPR and “the most famous Minnesota musician you’ve probably never heard of” by The Current, Wong’s most recognized for his guitar work with Midwestern funk heroes Vulfpeck but this August, Wong continues cultivating his own brand of modern funk with The Optimist.

This fall, catch Cory Wong on an extensive tour across the U.S. and Europe. Find a full list of dates below.

“Our show at the Bluebird was one of those rare nights where everything totally clicked," recalls Mike Gantzer of Aqueous, regarding their breakout June 9th, 2018 performance at the famed Denver theater. "The band was riding a wave of synergy, the setlists were a blast, and we had a sold-out crowd in front of us at this wonderful theater in Denver–it was just a beautiful evening and there was a little bit of magic in the air. The fan response to these sets was overwhelming."

Until today, the show was only available to those with a nugs.net subscription, but the band wanted to commemorate the extra-special evening and offer the performance as a true live release. Live From The Bluebird is now available on all digital streaming platforms, including AppleMusic & Spotify

Aqueous has been touring relentlessly this year, but fans who follow the band have grown to expect the unexpected from the Buffalo four-piece. At this past Summer Camp Music Festival, the band stunned a late-night crowd with a very rare cover of Oysterhead's "Pseudo Suicide' [full video here], and at the June 9th Denver show, Aqueous busted out a Pink Floyd cover of "Fearless" [full video here], teasing the forthcoming Nightlights Music Festival set alongside Chuck Garvey (moe.), Eli Winderman (Dopapod) and Matt Kellen (Mungion).

Last weekend, the band gave their debut performance at Electric Forest, one-upping even themselves by dawning a brand new cover of Led Zepplin's "No Quarter" [listen/share here]; as they prepare to return to Rothbury, MI this weekend, who's to say what can be expected, other than the unexpected.

On October 12th, 2018, fans of the Buffalo-based act Aqueous will have a new reason to rejoice; Color Wheel, the quartet's first full-length studio record since 2014's Cycles, will finally hit shelves. This time, on vinyl, too,

"Color Wheel feels like a step forward for the band in every way," shares Aqueous guitarist/keyboardist David Loss. "We tapped into a distinctly more emotional and purposeful space when writing it, and there’s a raw honesty throughout the album’s lyrics and themes that I think a lot of people can relate to. Though some of those themes are a little heavier, there’s a constant thread of hopeful optimism that we hope people will really connect with. Musically, the band has evolved and Color Wheel finds us exploring some new and very exciting musical lanes."

Of the album's 10 tracks, virtually every song has remained unheard – except for "Second Sight" and "Weight of the Word" which have quickly become crowdpleasers in the band's live catalog. Even still, both tracks have received fresh studio treatment and the Turkuaz Horns were invited to record on the latest rendition of the latter.

Color Wheel Tracklisting:
1. Second Sight
2. How High You Fly
3. Realize Your Light
4. Split The Difference
5. Color Wheel
6. Good Enough
7. Half In, Half out
8. Weight Of The Word (feat. Turkuaz Horns)
9. Mandela Effect
10. In It (For Me)

Pegging this record as a concept album, Aqueous will be releasing the 10 tracks in a unique way, presenting three waves of batches with the first wave due out as soon as next week. "There’s a certain continuity to this entire album, and it unfolds in a way that makes the track order important for the experience – there’s an underlying narrative happening throughout the lyrics and themes, and the overarching theme of the story is a strong sense of optimism through the struggle of the realities of life," adds Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer. He continues, "For this reason, we wanted to release the album in waves, ultimately, to give people a chance to settle into each section of the album and digest it thoroughly before diving into the next."

Pre-order for Color Wheel on vinyl is happening now via the band's Bandcamp page: https://bit.ly/2wuxFrT.

In support of the new record, Aqueous will also embark on their most extensive headlining tour to date. Find a full list of dates below with more information available via the band's website.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will make a 2-night stop in Boulder, CO on Thursday, October 18th & Friday, October 19th for performances at Boulder Theater. The high-energy funky four-piece hailing from Baltimore, MD has been touring the country relentlessly since the release of their 4th studio record, Pizazz, out now.

Blending infectious funk grooves, psychedelic jams, and experimental electronics, the Baltimore four-piece’s latest album is a buoyant, blissful reminder of just how much fun music can be. Eschewing the traditional funk band lineup that typically includes keyboards, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong constructs effervescent soundscapes with just two guitars, bass, and drums, crafting their music with a sophisticated ear for both open space and dense layering.

“We pour every ounce of ourselves into every note when we perform live,” says Pigeons Playing Ping Pong's frontman Greg Ormont. “When we’re recording in the studio, we try to maintain that euphoria while finding a way to pack it into a tight, focused vessel. Each song becomes like a spring-loaded can of worms: there’s all this energy boxed up in a neat little package, and then when you come see us live, the cap comes off and the contents fly out in every direction like fireworks.”

While the new album is certainly a "creative advancement" (Billboard) for the group, this band is known for their road-tested live performances. This summer alone, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong made their debut at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, as well as Colorado's legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, playing to crowds well into the thousands. Whether it be an original tune from one of their four records, an inventive cover of a song from the Disney catalog or an hour-long completely improvised set, there's no saying what the quartet will bust out when they take the stage.

Coming off the heels of their highly-anticipated studio album announcement earlier this month, Aqueous has just released their NYE 2018 plans and it's official – they will be home for the holidays.

To ring in 2019 proper on December 31st, the band will once again take over Buffalo's Town Ballroom with Lespecial joining as support on the bill. Last year's NYE bash at Town Ballroom sold out, so fans are encouraged to procure their tickets early.

Additionally, on December 30th, the band will play an intimate VIP show at Nietzsche's to honor their history performing at the venue. Tickets for 12/30 can only be purchased as part of the "King For A Day" VIP Experience package via the link here (on-sale now): http://bit.ly/AQNYE2018. The "King For A Day" VIP Experience includes 1 General Admission ticket to Aqueous VIP private concert at Nietzsche’s 12/30; 1 General Admission ticket to see Aqueous at Town Ballroom on 12/31; early entry and a photo opportunity with Aqueous @ Town Ballroom on 12/31; 1 limited edition event poster signed by Aqueous; 1 audio download per night via Nugs.net; and 1 limited edition custom Aqueous VIP pin.

A special fan pre-sale for 12/31 is taking place this Wednesday, September 12th at 11 AM ET using access code "COLORWHEEL." General on-sale for 12/31 at Town Ballroom begins this coming Friday, September 14th at 11 AM ET. VIP tickets are on sale now.

In other news, in advance of their much buzzed about latest studio effort, Color Wheel, due out October 12th, Aqueous has formally released the first three tracks as Wave I on digital platforms. To listen on your preferred platform, please visit the link here: http://smarturl.it/aqueous-cw

To coincide with the digital release, Aqueous shared their notes on this first batch of tracks:

“‘Second Sight’ deals with the concept of doing everything one can to put aside petty differences and looking for those linings of hope and connection that every human inherently shares, despite living in such divided times. It’s also about appreciating and feeling grateful just to be alive and using that level of gratitude to try to shed cynicism; it’s about connecting with people and recognizing each of our roles in the division and working towards bridging those gaps where possible.”

“‘How High You Fly’ is a tribute to a friend we lost to the grips of addiction. The song, lyrically and musically (re-worked entirely for Color Wheel), represents the concept of this person, after passing away, finally being free of their worldly struggle and suffering from addiction; how they could somehow “start again” unshackled by that experience. It goes on to conceptualize that they could, in some way, even connect with other people they knew in life that also passed, but ultimately recognizes that this thought might simply be a comfort to those still here, dealing with the loss themselves.”

"‘Realize Your Light’ is a hopeful message of positivity that life is far too short to not live it to the fullest potential, and that if one can recognize their purpose, they could likely achieve anything. It considers the idea that regardless of one’s circumstance, where they have been, and where they are going, that somewhere in the struggle, there’s a path and a calling out there for each person.”

Dubbing this record a concept album, Aqueous will continue to release Color Wheel in waves. "There’s a certain continuity to this entire album, and it unfolds in a way that makes the track order important for the experience – there’s an underlying narrative happening throughout the lyrics and themes, and the overarching theme of the story is a strong sense of optimism through the struggle of the realities of life," shares Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer, explaining their reasoning behind this unique approach. He continues, "For this reason, we wanted to release the album in waves, ultimately, to give people a chance to settle into each section of the album and digest it thoroughly before diving into the next."

This marks the group's first release pressed to vinyl and pre-order for the limited edition Color Wheel LP is happening now: https://bit.ly/2wuxFrT.

There are major tour plans throughout the fall before the end of year culmination in Buffalo, NY. Find a full list of dates below with more information available via the band's website.

The soulful powerhouse ensemble known throughout the Northeast as West End Blend has shared fall 2018 tour details. "This tour stands to be one of our most exciting tours to date," shares Sam Horan, the band's drummer. "We’re visiting some brand new cities and we look forward to expanding that WEB family!"

The tour will see performances across the northeast, in places like Brooklyn, Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany, NY; Boston, MA; Portland, ME; and a hometown throwdown in New Haven, CT at Toad's Place. Midwest dates include plays in Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; and Grand Rapids, MI. Halloweekend has a Secret Location TBA for the Halloween Horror Camp, and southeastern markets like Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC will be hit on this run. The band then heads back to the northeast for performances in Nashua, NH; Washington, D.C.; Erie, PA; and Ithaca, NY.

Tickets are on sale this coming Friday, September 14th at 12 pm ET and can be purchased via the band's website

In addition to the extensive fall tour, West End Blend recently shared plans for their first formal live release, Live At The Waterhole, due out October 5th, 2018. “We've been getting so many requests for a live album from our fans," elaborates Horan. "Everyone can agree that while our studio albums sound great, they just don't quite capture the raw energy and vibe that you see from us live."

Recorded live during a two-night run at The Waterhole in Saranac Lake, NY, this album encapsulates the band's performances over the first annual "Blender" – a weekend filled with nonstop live performances at The Waterhole, curated by West End Blend. Together with the band, GRAMMY Award-winning engineer Brendan Morawski built a studio-style soundboard side stage yielding studio quality recordings of both evenings. When deciding which songs were going to make it to the new album, West End Blend tried to pick those which have taken on new arrangements and have morphed significantly from the studio album versions. Horan continues, "We are constantly re-arranging our songs as we continue to perform them live and we wanted to showcase that to our fans."

Multi-Grammy Award-winning artists Robert Sput Searight and Nate Werth launched their powerhouse ensemble of Ghost-Note back in 2015, but 2018 marks the first year the band is heading overseas. This November, Searight and Werth take their eclectic ensemble – comprised of  Dywane “MonoNeon” Thomas Jr. (bass),  Xavier Taplin (keys), Vaughn “V-Keys” Henry (keys), Peter Knudsen (guitar) and Jonathan Mones (alto sax & flute) alongside Werth and Sput – across Europe.

Dates will see the masterful 7-piece play performances in Norway, Switzerland, France, and England, with multiple dates scheduled throughout Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy. From November 5th, 2018 until the 27th, Ghost-Note will visit 18 overseas cities, hitting jazz clubs and jazz festivals alike.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the band's website.

So far, the live performance has been turning heads. "Throughout the show, they demonstrated a good balance between lyric and freestyle," writes The Feedback Society after catching their breakout performance at Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival earlier this year. "Their notes and runs were clear and articulate; the drum hits defined. There were show-stopping riffs, catchy hooks, and head-turning Latin beats...The expertly executed use of free-form solos enhanced the performance rather than taking away from it, which can be a risk with jazz music."

Ghost-Note was conceptualized in 2015 to showcase the diverse musical landscape of Dallas, TX. That birthed the ensemble's debut record, Fortified, under the moniker. This past April, Sput and Werth – who are best known for their affiliation with the jazz-fusion band, Snarky Puppy – headed back into the studio for the follow-up release, Swagism, which garnered a #1 position on the iTunes jazz charts. The current album showcases a more evolved sound, elaborating on the sonically powerful and diverse talents of each individual member of the group, and features over 20 guest musicians, including Kamasi Washington, Karl Denson, Nigel Hall, Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer, and many more.

Live performances of the unique supergroup have been scarce, until now. Catch them in a city near you. A full list of upcoming dates can be found below.

On October 12th, 2018, the new studio effort from Aqueous will be out in full. In advance of Color Wheel, the band teased what's to come with "Waves" of track releases, and Wave II is out today. Listen here.

Wave II sees Aqueous' largest sonic exploration to date. The 4-piece sites diverse musical influences – such as Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Incubus and even Fleet Foxes – as inspiration for its three tracks. Hip-hop and electronic sounds, prog-based compositions and the band's first true "ballad" are presented in this latest batch.

As with Wave I, Aqueous shared some insight into each of the tracks in Wave II:

“Split The Difference” is our first official excursion into a more hip-hop/electronic-based feel; the band has long been inspired by artists like Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, etc, and this track felt like a natural and exciting step in that direction.

“Color Wheel” was written as a way to address the growing disparity between having an authentic human experience vs. the idealized version people present themselves as on the internet, and how unfulfilling and dark it can be for a person’s psyche. Musically, it was inspired a bit more by indie-prog bands like Incubus, Minus The Bear, and Muse.

"Good Enough" is a reflection of recognizing and accepting one’s flaws and eccentricities, and trying to come to terms with them while realizing that those very characteristics are the root of a lot of the struggle in one’s life. There’s a feeling of optimism about being honest with one’s self, but also a sense of forlorn, because it’s an isolating, lonely feeling, too. Musically speaking, it’s the band’s first ever “ballad” and was inspired by music like Wings, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Fleet Foxes, and George Harrison.

There are still limited edition copies of Color Wheel on LP, the band's first vinyl release, available for pre-order: https://bit.ly/2wuxFrT. In addition, Aqueous has also released a CD pre-order bundle, containing a limited edition Color Wheel t-shirt and sticker with the purchase of the CD. That package can be ordered here: http://bit.ly/AQColorWheelCDBundle

Aqueous has also announced two new tour dates in December – a play in Covington, KY at Madison Live! on the 14th and at Woodlands Tavern in Columbus, OH on the 15th. Tickets for these newly announced dates are on sale now.

Additionally, there is a very limited allotment of "King For A Day" VIP tickets available to the 12/30 - 12/31 hometown New Year's Eve run in Buffalo, NY.

The jazz-fusion trio from LA known as Organ Freeman has to be selective about their tour dates under the moniker. Comprised of three accomplished studio musicians – Trevor Steer (organ, key bass), Rob Humphreys (drums) and Erik Carlson (guitar) – the trio founded the project in order to have a creative outlet all their own. With two studio records under their belt, appearances at national festivals and support dates with artists like Cory Henry, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Reggie Watts, Turkuaz and more, it was only a matter of time before people started to take notice of what ShowTheShow regards as, "...Medeski Martin and Wood but about 20 years younger."

This November and December Organ Freeman are excited to hit the road once again for a headlining tour. Over the two month span, the band will kick off this stint of dates in their hometown of Los Angeles on November 3rd, before hitting several cities in Colorado; Chicago and the surrounding area; Indianapolis and Detroit in the midwest; Ashville, Winston-Salem and Raleigh in the south; and east coast cities Washington, D.C., Philadephia and New York.

Tickets are on sale now and more information is available over at the band's website.

In the recent history of the band, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have been known to throw quite the Halloween party wherever they land, dubbing each year with its own unique theme. 2015 saw the theme of "Dead Zeppelin" where PPPP mashed up the music of Led Zeppelin and The Grateful Dead. For 2016, they took on a more abstract theme, "A Tribute To The Letter P,"  where the band performed covers of songs which began with the letter "P." Last year's theme for 2017 paid homage to those we've lost with the appropriately named "R.I.P.P.P.P. A Tribute to Musicians We Have Lost," complete with music from Frank Zappa, The Allman Brothers, David Bowie, Notorious  B.I.G. and more.

Today, the cat's out of the bag for 2018's special Halloween theme. This year, the guys of PPPP will take on the music of The Beatles and Red Hot Chili Peppers for a night of "Red Hot Sergeant Peppers" over their upcoming four-night run, kicking off on October 31st. Of course, beloved songs from the PPPP catalog can also be expected.

"We’re so stoked about this year’s Halloween run! We’ve been flirting with the idea of doing a Red Hot Sergeant Peppers theme for a couple years and I’m happy that we finally decided to do it while we’re back on the East Coast," shares PPPP frontman, Greg Ormont. "It’s been an absolute blast putting our spin on the material, which is so well written and full of energy. Can’t wait to unleash RHSP on The Flock!"

Limited tickets are still available to the upcoming Halloween run through Richmond, VA (10/31), Charlotte, NC (11/1) and the two-night run in Atlanta, GA (11/2 - 11/3). Those can be purchased through the band's website.

In support of their recently released studio LP, Color Wheel, Buffalo's Aqueous will embark on their most extensive headlining tour to date. Along the tour, they're making a very special stop at Brooklyn, NY's legendary Knitting Factory and they are well aware it lands on October 31st – Halloween.

"We take Halloween pretty seriously over at camp AQ. In previous years we’ve done some wild themes where we’ll incorporate all the music and the whole vibe of whatever the theme is," shares Aqueous guitarist, Mike Gantzer. "This year for our show at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, we wanted to pay tribute to a golden era of cartoon history: Nick Toons! We all grew up loving shows like Doug, Rocko’s Modern Life, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Hey Arnold, Spongebob Squarepants, and the list goes on and on. The music from a lot of these shows is so awesome, and it’s gonna be a blast diving down this rabbit hole of nostalgia and blending the whole Nickelodeon vibe within the AQ sound. Add Mungion as support to the mix, and you’ve got a pretty bombastic show going down for Halloween this year."

Past themes for Aqueous Halloween have included Wizard of Oz, Back To The Future and Super Mario Brothers.

Limited tickets remain for the Halloween throwdown at Knitting Factory and can be purchased here. All other upcoming dates can be purchased via the band's website.

In other news, Mike Gantzer is hosting a Roll Your Own on SiriusXM's Jam On station this week. The episode airs three more times: Thursday, October 18th at 2 pm ET, Saturday, October 20th at 5 pm ET and Sunday, October 21st at 1 pm ET.

In support of their recently released studio LP, Color Wheel, Buffalo-based band Aqueous are heading out on an extensive tour of the US, including a performance in Boulder, CO at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, December 8th. This performance concludes the band's 3-night Colorado run, which includes a show at Hodi's in Fort Collins, CO and a performance in Steamboat Springs, CO at Old Town Pub.

Mungion, who just released their own studio record – Ferris Wheel's Day Off – will offer support each night.

"The general concept was kind of a critique or analysis of our habits as humans with the Internet right now," guitarist Mike Gantzer shared about Color Wheel in a recent interview with Billboard. "For me, a color wheel represents a palette of emotions. So we were looking at how we present this perfect version of ourselves on the Internet; We set out to make a cookie cutter version of our life that's really idealized, but that does not represent at all the emotional complexities of a person's life – the color wheel of different emotions."

Color Wheel was recorded at Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac's GCR Audio in Buffalo, NY, the band's hometown. Through the 10 tracks of Color Wheel, Aqueous explores influences of hip-hop, progressive rock and jazz while maintaining the tight grooves and open-ended playing they have become known for. The record was written and produced by the band, but this time they took a new approach – "Seventy percent of the songs were written weeks or even days before we went into the studio, so there weren't many preconceived notions going in this time, which made it pretty exciting," shares Gantzer, which is starkly contrasted against their traditional road-tested method, where songs are performed live and developed during shows.

After forming in Buffalo in 2006, Aqueous has earned a reputation as one of the most promising improvisational rock acts in the country. Best known for their “groove rock” stylings and ability to seamlessly meld genres, guitarist/vocalist Mike Gantzer, guitarist/keyboardist David Loss, bassist Evan McPhaden and drummer Rob Houk have developed a unique sound characterized by meticulous compositions and rich exploratory jams. In a live setting, the group’s undeniable technical prowess truly shines, making for dynamic performances that bring fans back night after night.

The fall air has just barely set in, but anyone who's visited Colorado's legendary stage knows there's no place like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in the summertime, and it's never too early to hear about next year's programming. Fans of Twiddle and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong can rejoice with the latest news – on Thursday, May 2nd, 2019 both acts will co-headline a special show at the famed outdoor venue. Kitchen Dwellers will offer support on the bill.

"What's really cool about this show is that we and the Pigeons have been friends and playing together for years when we were drawing 200 people and now, 5 years later, we are headlining Red Rocks together," shares Twiddle's Mihali Savoulidis. Given the intertwined history of the two bands, fans can expect a collaborative nature during the upcoming Red Rocks date. This will be Twiddle's second time headlining the stage, with their first headlining appearance taking place earlier this year.

"Words cannot express our excitement to play Red Rocks again," adds PPPP frontman, Greg Ormont. "Not only do we get to rock out at one the best venues in the world, but we get to do it alongside our longtime friends Twiddle. We've played some shows in Colorado together before, but co-headlining at Red Rocks is the next level. We're super grateful for the opportunity and beyond ready for this dream to come true." This will be PPPP's debut headlining slot at Red Rocks. Last summer, they made their first appearance on the stage when they offered support for moe.

General on sale is this coming Friday, October 26th at 10 AM MDT and tickets can be purchased here: https://bit.ly/2EDLbAO. A limited allotment of low fee GA tickets and VIP bundles will be available via a Fanclub presale, taking place this Wednesday, October 24th at 10 AM MDT, and can be purchased with the secret password (TBA on the bands’ socials) here: twiddleppppredrocks.eventbrite.com. VIP bundles include exclusive merch, early entry, group band photos and more. Specific details are available here.

More Info on Twiddle:

With 12 years of relentless touring behind them, Vermont-based rock band Twiddle has built an impressive resume spanning Red Rocks to Bonnaroo, and multiple sellouts of historic rock venues including Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre, and Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club. Buoyed by the generous support of 359 Kickstarter donors, Twiddle released an impressive 27-song record in 2017 with PLUMP (Chapters 1 & 2). With their imaginative lyrical abilities and superb instrumentation, it is no question why the quartet has developed a devoted following across the country. Twiddle is comprised of Mihali Savoulidis (vocals/guitar), Zdenek Gubb (bass/vocals), Ryan Dempsey (keyboards/vocals) and Brook Jordan (percussion/vocals).

More Info on Pigeons Playing Ping Pong:

Hailing from Baltimore, MD, psychedelic funk outfit Pigeons Playing Ping Pong welcomed their fourth studio record, Pizazz, in late 2017. Billboard dubbed the effort a "creative advancement," and it's been a non-stop build ever since. What followed were a series of headlining shows from coast-to-coast, playing to sold-out crowds and amassing new followers along the way. 2018 saw the band give debut performances at Red Rocks and Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, and most recently, the quartet was featured on the cover of Pollstar. PPPP is comprised of Greg Ormont (vocals/guitar), Jeremy Schon (guitar/vocals), Ben Carrey (bass/vocals) and Alex Petropulos (drums/electronics).

Mon, 11/19/2018 - 2:06 pm

Today, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong shares the handpicked theme for this year's New Year's Eve performance at Stage AE in Pittsburg, PA on December 31st – New Year's stEve. Although the band has planned a four-night run to wind down their most prolific year to date (including two shows at Nashville's Basement East and a performance in Covington, KY at Madison Theater) the theme is reserved for those choosing to ring in 2019 with the band. Tickets are still available for purchase here.

In the meantime, tour marches on. Find a full list of upcoming dates below, including the recently announced May 4th, 2019 performance with The String Cheese Incident at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans, LA around Jazz Fest.

Earlier this year, guitarist Cory Wong set out on his pursuit of "The Koz Nod," what he described in his July Social Experiment video as, "when Dave Koz gives you the nod." Since Wong's proclamation of this new goal and his unwavering desire to be the "millennial ambassador of smooth jazz," he's been very vocal about his latest endeavor. "During every show I've done this past year, I've talked about how crazy it is that a guy has his own cruise that goes in different parts of the world every year, and it sells out before he even announces who is going to be playing on it," shares Wong. "He didn't know when he was practicing his pentatonic scales in 6th grade that he'd be where he is today...or did he?! I've been trying to connect with Dave Koz to play on his cruise and get out of Minnesota this winter."

In early August, Wong kicked it up a notch and presented his Extreme Smooth Jazz Makeover in his latest effort to grab the attention of the smooth jazz community, and the smooth jazz king himself, Dave Koz. Well, it worked! Wong was able to get Koz's attention and Koz joined Wong in the studio for a refreshed version of "The Optimist" (from Wong's recent record of the same name) about a week later.

In addition, the duo collaborated on a brand new track, "Friends At Sea" – affectionately named after Koz's famed cruise – and on Friday, November 23rd, the aptly named double single will be released digitally as The Koz Nod. To commemorate this epic "win," Wong has pressed The Koz Nod onto 7" records, of which there are only 500 copies available. Fans can purchase those here: woooong.com/koznod

But did Cory Wong make it onto Dave Koz & Friends At Sea after all? This story has a happy ending...Cory Wong is officially invited as a special guest on the upcoming Dave Koz & Friends At Sea, setting sail in March 2019.

2018 was a big year for the Buffalo-based groove-rock band, Aqueous. It saw the release of their first studio record in nearly four years with the critically acclaimed LP Color Wheel, and the four-piece embarked on their largest headlining tour to date. While the Color Wheel tour is winding down and the Aqueous is excited to ring in the new year at their hometown NYE bash at Town Ballroom, today the band shares their plans for early 2019.

Starting in February, Aqueous will hit the road on a co-headlining tour with BIG Something and these dates are inclusive of the band's very first west coast run. "We couldn't be more excited to head west," multi-instrumentalist Dave Loss enthusiastically shared. "The band has played Colorado several times now and it almost feels like a second home to us. We always feel so much love there. This will, however, be the bands first venture out to the west coast. We've been wanting to get out there for a long time now and we're stoked to finally make it happen. Doing it with our good friends BIG Something just makes it that much better!"

The 20 date tour will see the bands play several midwestern dates before a five-date stint in Colorado, followed by Aqueous' debut plays in Oregon, Washington state and California. The tour then heads to Texas for three separate dates before culminating in New Orleans in early March. A full list of upcoming tour dates can be found below.

Tickets for the upcoming Aqueous / BIG Something co-headlining tour are on sale this coming Friday, December 14th at 10 am local time: aqueousband.com/tour.

On Thursday, May 2nd, 2019, Vermont-based Twiddle and Baltimore-based Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will co-headline the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a historic moment in the history of both bands. "What's really cool about this show is that we and the Pigeons have been friends and playing together for years when we were drawing 200 people and now, 5 years later, we are headlining Red Rocks together," shares Mihali Savoulidis of Twiddle.

This will be Twiddle's second time headlining the stage, with their first headlining appearance taking place in May 2018.

We're super grateful for the opportunity and beyond ready for this dream to come true."

This will be PPPP's debut headlining slot at Red Rocks. Last summer, they made their first appearance on the stage when they offered support for moe.

Given the intertwined history of the two bands, fans can expect a collaborative nature during the upcoming Red Rocks date. Montana's Kitchen Dwellers offer support on the bill.

British rockers The Heavy are back with the latest addition to their impressive musical catalog. Scheduled to release their latest album Sons worldwide on May 17th, the band comprised of Kelvin Swaby (vocals), Dan Taylor (guitar), Spencer Page (bass guitar) and Chris Ellul (drums) build upon their unique sound that have garnered them fans around the globe. Blending rock, funk and soul in their music, The Heavy create memorable songs with infectious hooks and thought-provoking lyrics as evidenced in the first single “Better As One.” The video for the song was recently released and can be seen here: https://youtu.be/o_DN1FHDTWE.

“Written with the horrific events of Charlottesville in mind, the idea that people, with an ever-changing world are still championing division and racism, is something that could never exist in my bones. And is still wholly unbelievable. We look to our heads of state to nullify, breakdown and discredit these actions if it’s detrimental to a peaceful everyday. If and when they choose not to, then We The People must come together and show that strength, happiness and a beautiful life are more effective and achievable when we work as one," explains vocalist Kelvin Swaby.

From the opening riff of “Heavy for You” to choral finale of album closer “Burn Bright,” it is clear The Heavy have built upon the sound that launched the band to fame in 2009. “Fire,” “Put The Hurt On Me” and “A Whole Lot of Love” demonstrate the throwback sound while sounding fresh and energized for 2019. Sons is currently available for pre-order at https://theheavy.lnk.to/SonsPR.

Singer/songwriter Christina Holmes has officially announced that her third studio album, The Beautiful Struggle, will be released on May 31st. Recorded at Spitfire Studios in Los Angeles, the 11-track album is her most personal, passionate, and powerful work to date.  Christina manages to thread together relatable stories of love and life through her confessional lyricism and instrumental proficiency on guitar, bass, djembe, and piano. The Beautiful Struggle is now available for pre-order and will come with an instant download of the lead track from the album, “Rise.” Pre-order The Beautiful Struggle on iTunes and Apple Music.

“Life can be hard sometimes and I want everyone to know that even when there is a lot of bad going on in their life or the world, they can always find the beauty in everything,” says Christina of the album’s message.  “I hope people walk away with the strength to know they can keep walking even in the darkest of days.”

“Everybody Knows” hints at this message with impressive musicality, looping vocals on top of djembe. Meanwhile, the single “Rise” pairs a bright guitar lead and organic percussion with her warm delivery. It culminates on the empowering chant, “We will rise up when we are called upon. We will rise up and we will just keep on.”  The heartbreakingly potent “Addictions” examines its subject from multiple points-of-view (and -vice). The title track builds towards an undeniable chorus over a lively sonic backdrop. Meanwhile, “Try” inspired this unfiltered and unbridled candor at the beginning.
