Los-Angeles based, Boston-bred folk-punk troubadour Bryan McPherson is set to release his third album, the dynamic Wedgewood via O.F.D. Records on June 10th.  Fresh on the heels of a 24-date European tour, he kicks off the U.S. headlining leg on June 11th in Portland, Maine.  Wedgewood is available for presale at http://bit.ly/1KoS9SC.

Melding Americana, folk, alternative, and punk into one incendiary, incisive sound, Bryan pays homage to influences such as Bob Dylan, The Sex Pistols, The Violent Femmes, Bruce Springsteen and Ani DiFranco. He self-produced Wedgewood at Flying Whale Studios in the secluded foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California.  The record boasts unforgettable hooks, soaring melodies and powerful stories.

His immersion in Occupy Oakland in 2011 was a life-changing experience that heavily informed Wedgewood.  In between playing shows on “Teargas Tuesday” and dodging rubber bullets in the name of change at Occupy, he began to collate and catalog the inspiration for the 11-song set.  “The things I witnessed at Occupy Oakland hit me hard,” shares Bryan. “The experience ignited a fire and a furor in me that are reflected on the album.”

Wedgewood springs to life with the first single “Born On A Highway” (http://bit.ly/1ESBBlj) that rolls along on stark yet lush instrumentation mixed with Bryan’s potent cadence. “Here We Go” (http://bit.ly/1Kaj9EB) is a call-to-action with its sharp lyrics and vibrant instrumentation, while “Hearts in Boxcars” depicts a strained love story of two people who must go in different directions. The expansive “Song From The Moon” illuminates the breadth of Wedgewood with its revolutionary characters and spirit.

Touring year-round, Bryan has hit the road many times with punk luminaries Dropkick Murphys, he’s opened for the legendary Chuck Berry and boasts a fan in Slash. He’s received much critical acclaim, with the San Francisco Bay Guardian praising, “His words aren’t just cerebral ponderings about the state of the government. It is one man belting—at the top of his lungs—his honest, emotional impressions of the world.”

On the heels of their recent European trek, Americana band JD & The Straight Shot are set to open for Jewel’s Picking Up the Pieces tour kicking off on March 4th in Lake Charles, LA. JD & The Straight Shot – vocalist/guitarist Jim Dolan whose voice the New York Post calls “reminiscent of Tom Waits and Randy Newman,” guitarist/vocalist Marc Copely (B.B. King, Rosanne Cash), bassist Byron House (Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton) along with touring musicians guitarist JJ Appelton (David Bowie, Keb Mo, Darius Rucker) and violinist Alicia Enstrom (Keith Urban, Nashville Symphony) – are hitting the road in support of their new, all-acoustic album Ballyhoo! released on January 15th.

Produced by Chuck Ainlay (Mark Knopfler, Miranda Lambert), Ballyhoo! Is steeped in the quiet fire of blues and roots music. The eleven lush tracks were written by Dolan, Copely and House along with violinist Erin Slaver (Rod Stewart, Trace Adkins, Martina McBride) and guitarist Aidan Dolan, with additional contributions by Chris Carmack (who plays Will Lexington on TV’s Nashville) and Adam Levy (known for his work with Norah Jones and Tracy Chapman).

Roots music authority No Depression raves, “JD & The Straight Shot have written some really thought provoking and gripping songs; and this passionate and delicate treatment really makes them memorable, to the extreme.”

Frontman Jim Dolan explains that the decision to go acoustic on the band’s fifth record was a natural one. “We’ve always approached writing songs acoustically, so it made sense to go in that direction. They just sound right this way.”

The beauty of Ballyhoo!’s stripped-down instrumental approach is clear on the infectious tracks. From the swamp groove of “Better Find A Church” (http://bit.ly/1NYzcrb) to the harmony-filled cover song “Nature’s Way,” Dolan’s love of classic rock songcraft shines bright. Slide-blues album opener “Empty” tells the story of hitting rock bottom and climbing back up, while “Here He Comes” pays homage to the genius of Johnny Cash, “Glide” (http://bit.ly/1Uba9Gz) reflects on the pureness of childhood joy, and closing ballad “I’ll See You Again” offers a hopeful eulogy.

In addition to dates with Jewel, JD & The Straight Shot toured alongside luminaries such as the Eagles, Keith Urban, the Dixie Chicks, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and the Allman Brothers Band, and recently performed on the “Today Show” and “Good Day New York.”

Born and bred in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter-guitarist-pianist-producer David Stücken has often been compared to revered rocker Ryan Adams for his artistry, self-production and music craftsmanship. David is the force behind LA-based rock band David and The Curse whose dynamic debut An Epitaph For Love is due out early 2017. David wrote and produced the autobiographical album of gritty rock tales told through the lens of an anti-hero. A prolific songwriter, David writes earnestly with his electric guitar, painting pictures of personal battles and tales from the darkest corners of LA to the brightest lights of the downtown skyline. His songs combine the jaded angst that only a native Angeleno possesses paired with a romantic streak baked in by the blazing SoCal sun.

An Epitaph For Love is rock n’ roll with beats as stiff and hard as a dive bar cocktail with a mix of poetic and meaningful lyrics. The album captures the band’s unique sound while boasting hints of American roots, R&B, raucous rock via the Ramones and the Rolling Stones and the emotive, organic, true songwriting of Tom Petty, John Lennon and Bruce Springsteen. David explains, “To me, the confluence of songwriting and the music are key to every great song. An Epitaph For Love blends new elements of music with the classic influences I grew up listening to.”

David and The Curse made a passionate, raw, relevant album of ten potent songs that pull no punches. The tracks tell stories related to the hopeful search for love and happiness. “The title of the record echoes my never-ending desire to find deep love despite having lost love in the past,” says David.

The decadent first single "She Loves the Night" is a powerfully honest rock anthem boasting blazing guitars, deep snare tones and an infectious sexy croon. The woman depicted in the song is as dangerous as a loaded pistol. The undeniably catchy melody of “Diamond Ring” is the embodiment of when love is in perfect harmony. “The song reflects a time in my life when I experienced a sense of pure happiness,” shares David. “It’s a love song written while in love by a hopeless romantic.” The driving riffs and tribal thumps of “Matters of Flesh” reflect those dark times when you look into the mirror and don’t recognize the face staring back. Circumstances can sometimes make monsters out of men. “Queen Of The Blues” is beautifully upbeat while marinating in the sweet nostalgia of lost love.

David Stücken has been writing and performing since he was 12 years old and has played alongside luminaries such as TSOL, The Buzzcocks, Social Distortion and more. David and The Curse’s rousing live shows are electrifying and bold. With An Epitaph For Love, David has crafted an exciting, ambitious, formidable first album that immediately captivates and holds tight.

New York City-based Americana band JD & The Straight Shot will release its vibrant sixth studio album Good Luck And Good Night on September 15th. Comprised of vocalist/guitarist Jim Dolan, guitarist Marc Copely (B.B. King, Rosanne Cash), bassist Byron House (Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton), violinist/fiddler Erin Slaver (Martina McBride, Rod Stewart) and drummer/percussionist Shawn Pelton (Sheryl Crow, Levon Helm, Saturday Night Live band), the dynamic group's all-acoustic record was produced and mixed by Copely (Toby Lightman, Owen Danoff, Upright Man) and engineered by Chuck Ainley (Mark Knopfler, George Strait, Lee Ann Womack) at Soundstage Studios in Nashville.

Frontman Dolan says, “We pushed ourselves harder than ever before on this album and are so proud of the new music.”

Influenced by artists like The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd and The Beatles along with traditional Irish folk music and classical music, Good Luck And Good Night delivers a huge sound steeped in the quiet fire of American roots music and the swagger of rock n’ roll. New England Music News enthuses “They expertly fuse folk, country, blues and rock,” Rock At Night calls JD & The Straight Shot “Superb Americana,” Stageshottz Magazine praises, “They define the new Americana sound” and Front Row Music News raves, “They’re equal parts talented and entertaining."

The sparkling title track featuring a child chorus crescendo, is a thoughtful commentary on the divisive state of news reporting today, and scorching lead single, “Run For Me,” showcases unbridled energy, galloping rhythms and expansive sonic layers. “Moonlight” entrances with soaring melodies, while the banjo-and-fiddle-driven burner “Ballad Of Jacob Marley” re-tells the tale of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Story about greed and the ability to change. The beauty of Maya Angelou’s words shines in the contemplative “Never Alone” based on her poem “Alone,” the gospel-infused, foot-stomping “Redemption Train” sings of salvation, the melancholy, moving “Tonight” touches on the terrors of domestic abuse and the graceful ballad “I Know, You Know, I Know” addresses the secret passions of love that cannot be.

Good Luck And Good Night boasts two memorable covers including a rousing rendition of the Three Dog Night classic “Shambala” chock full of vocal harmonies, and, in homage to friend Glenn Frey, a sweepingly stunning cover of the Eagles’ “It’s Your World Now.”

New York City/Nashville-based Americana band JD & The Straight Shot is prepping a new all-acoustic album called The Great Divide due out later this year, kicking off with the soaring, melody-filled lead single, “I Should’ve Known.” The band - comprised of vocalist/guitarist Jim Dolan, guitarist/vocalist/producer Marc Copely (B.B. King, Rosanne Cash), bassist Byron House (Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton), violinist/fiddler/vocalist Erin Slaver (Martina McBride, Rod Stewart), drummer/percussionist Shawn Pelton (Sheryl Crow, Levon Helm, Saturday Night Live band), and guitarist/vocalist Carolyn Dawn Johnson (Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney) – is recording The Great Divide at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville with Marc Copely (Toby Lightman, Owen Danoff, Upright Man) once again producing.

The track is currently in rotation on Sirius XM stations: The Coffee House, The Loft, The Village and North Americana, and JD & The Straight Shot is set to perform “I Should’ve Known” on Good Day New York on August 9th.

The Great Divide follows JD & The Straight Shot’s highly acclaimed 2017 album Good Luck And & Good Night that roots music authority No Depression raves boasts “Exhilarating performances and “Luxurious blends of instrumentation,” and Madness To Creation gushes “Is a masterful blend of songwriting, arrangements, musicianship, and harmony."

Inspired by artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Civil Wars, Jefferson Airplane, The Turtles, Three Dog Night and The Yardbirds, JD & The Straight Shot delivers a sweet sound and strong songwriting mixed with the swagger of rock n’ roll.

UK rock band You Me At Six – comprised of vocalist Josh Franceschi, guitarists Max Helyer and Chris Miller, bassist Matt Barnes, and drummer Dan Flint - has returned with their triumphant sixth studio album called VI released on October 5th via Underdog Records / AWAL Recordings. To celebrate VI, the band has revealed the highly entertaining bowling alley hijinks-filled video inspired by The Big Lebowski for single “Back Again,”

You Me At Six has crafted an exciting, ambitious album with VI. It’s a record that switches moods and styles with breathless confidence, from devastatingly defiant rock to joyously uplifting pop. It all but drips with melodies and moods. It’s the kind of album a band makes when they are in love with all the possibilities of music. Recorded at Vada Studios in England, the band co-produced VI with Dan Austin (Biffy Clyro, Massive Attack, Pixies). Multi-platinum selling UK rock band THE DARKNESS – frontman Justin Hawkins, guitarist Dan Hawkins, bassist Frankie Poullain and drummer Rufus Taylor – released Easter Is Cancelled, their first ever concept album, in October via Cooking Vinyl. The band will spread their Easter Is Cancelled message across North America on their headlining Easter Is Cancelled Tour kicking off on April 13th in Edmonton, Alberta at Union Hall and wrapping on May 23rd in Chicago at Park West. The Darkness will play Easter Is Cancelled in full, followed by a set of their greatest hits and fan favorites. The shows promise to reflect the grand scope and vision of the new album alongside the band’s spectacular canon. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 17th at 10am local times HERE.

Justin Hawkins shares, “North America! We come to you again, humble in our mission but resolute in our purpose. Join with us in the benediction of ROCK, as we bring our Easter is Cancelled World Tour to your spume-flecked shores. We cancelled Easter and now we are going to cancel your souls - let’s reboot together in the epiphany that only 150% pure adrenalin can bring. You are me, I am you, and music is the river that will carry us to our destiny. P.S. concert tickets available at extremely reasonable prices from all usual outlets.”

Easter Is Cancelled became The Darkness’ fourth Top 10 Album in the UK, it topped the iTunes Rock Chart, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Current Hard Rock chart and #39 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart, and has garnered wide critical acclaim. Kerrang! declares, “For those who like their rock adventurous, Easter may be cancelled, but Christmas has come early.” Classic Rock Magazine raves, “Every track here is whip-smart and shout-it-out hooky.“ The Telegraph calls it “A record of ballsy energetic rock,” Clash Magazine gushes it’s “A lavish, complex, ambitious record,” and The Music announces, “Easter Is Cancelled is a high energy salute to everything rock.” Metal Insider effuses, "From first listen, you’re hoisted into sing-along power pop melodies and foot-stomping rock riffs that easily suck you in. You can feel these songs in your soul and they feel good." Smells Like Infinite Sadness praises, "Rock and Roll will never die as long as The Darkness are standing. They are the heroes we need, yet don’t deserve. Easter is Cancelled is a welcome reminder of their peerless musical powers."

Easter Is Cancelled is a mini-rock opera examining the role of the musician in the barbarous culture of the world today. At the core of the tale is love, loss and heartbreak, where redemption is ultimately found in the brotherhood of band friendship and the power of the guitar. The album boasts new single and the video for “In Another Life” that portrays Justin Hawkins banished to hell only to be redeemed by the power of rock pulsating through his guardian angel bandmates and a beautiful archangel. “Rock And Roll Deserves To Die” sees the band hailing the death of rock and roll in an epic five-minute masterpiece featuring monumental riffs, thunderous bass and almighty drums, “Heart Explodes” is a rock aria that finds The Darkness baring all in a multitude of emotions reflecting the hardships, struggles and changing relationships of life. “How Can I Lose Your Love” is a huge rock anthem steeped in emotion, featuring space-age synths, a gigantic chorus with beautiful hands-in-the-air moments, and almighty guitar solos, while title track “Easter Is Cancelled” encapsulates the explosive majesty of the record.

Multi-platinum UK rock icons The Darkness – frontman/guitarist Justin Hawkins, guitarist/producer Dan Hawkins, bassist Frankie Poullain, drummer Rufus Taylor – released the brand new song “Nobody Can See Me Cry” from their forthcoming album Motorheart out November 19th via Cooking Vinyl. Album pre-orders are available at the band’s official store.

“Nobody Can See Me Cry” is a high-octane riffola featuring an eye-watering guitar solo of monstrous proportions, charging verses of utter determination and a high-flying chorus all powered by sheer angst, passion and unfiltered emotion. Regarding the single Justin Hawkins says, “’Nobody Can See Me Cry.’ It’s devastating. I yearn to be seen. On this I’ll settle for being heard. Listen to this song, it’s brilliant. I should know, I sang it."

“Nobody Can See Me Cry” follows the recent release of the lead single and title track of the band’s opus Motorheart. Paying homage to a devoted sex robot, “Motorheart” growls, pounds and stomps with Rufus Taylor’s drums, Frankie Poullain’s bass and Justin & Dan Hawkins’ guitars all turned up to 11, whilst Justin’s trademark vocals soar to ever more earthquaking levels. Motorheart is a record of immeasurable rock and roll extravagance, and yet another masterpiece from England’s favorite rock bands.

Motorheart will be released in a wide variety of formats that offer a complete aural experience. In addition to standard and deluxe versions - both digitally and on CD, there’s a heavyweight black vinyl album, limited edition colour LPs, an old-school cassette version and exclusive bundles and signed editions.

With a back catalogue overflowing with sonic gold and a live reputation that most bands can only dream of attaining, The Darkness has established themselves as one of the most loved and important British rock bands of our time. Their last album, 2019’s Easter Is Cancelled, became the band’s fourth Top 10 album in the UK, whilst also topping the Official Charts Top 40 Rock Chart and the iTunes Rock Chart, alongside receiving swaths of critical praise.

The Darkness will be showcasing the live potency of Motorheart on their extensive 22-date UK headline tour kicking off in November followed by a European run at the top of next year. A true spectacle to behold, fans will be treated to brand new songs from the album as well as hits from across their award-winning, platinum-selling back catalogue. Stay tuned for North American 2022 tour dates to be announced.
