On the heels of wrapping up their 2019 “Feed The Beast” tour this past weekend with a two night stop in Seattle, TAUK is pleased to announce that they will hit the road early next year for their “Squad Tour 2020" which will see the band headlining some of their biggest shows to date. The tour will include stops at The Boulder Theater, and Boston’s Paradise Rock Club as well as a previously announced 2-night co-headlining run with The Motet in Washington, DC and Harrisburg, PA. The tour will also touch down for stops in upstate NY, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Colorado.

The band has been unleashing song debuts of new material being honed for their next studio record, left-field covers (like “Tear Drop” from Massive Attack) and full tribute sets like Brooklyn Bowl’s TAUKing Hendrix set, and TAUKing Fire on Halloween which ran through a wide-ranging list of songs that play on the theme of Fire.   The band has a few surprises up their sleeves for select dates, stay tuned for more info.  You can watch the whole “TAUKing Hendrix” set which featured sit-ins from Nate Werth (Snarky Puppy and Ghost-Note) and Nick Cassarino (The Nth Power) here: https://youtu.be/tRxbObGecis

The band most recently released Real TAUK, Vol. 3, as a free digital album on Nugs.net and on all streaming services. A now regular series of live releases highlighting live performances from recent shows, Volume 3 features 7 live highlights from their spring tour. Guitarist Matt Jalbert explains "We wanted to pick some of the newer songs for this volume of Real TAUK to showcase how they stretch out live, but we also had to mix in some older favorites like "On Guard" and “Tumbler”. You can stream, or download it here https://smarturl.it/RealTAUK-Vol3

All shows are on sale now.  For details and ticketing links go to www.taukband.com

For over 10 years Consider The Source has been steadily touring their high-octane, gear-drenched "Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Fusion" shows throughout the United States as well as to Turkey, Israel, Germany and more. While known for their aggressive use of cutting edge technology and technical wizardry the band also has been developing a softer side. Beginning with an impromptu performance at the esteemed Catskill Chill Music Festival in 2012, the group began experimenting with various degrees of acoustic performances peppered into their schedule at music festivals and intimate venue settings. These performances are quite far from your typical acoustic guitar cafe act and rather highlight the band's world influence featuring instruments rarely used in the west such as Dutar, Gimbri, Dombra, plus interesting twists on modern instruments like the banjo bass, ukulele bass, fretless acoustic guitar and a drum set appropriate to play with sticks or hands. The band has landed on calling these sets "hybrid" as they also include some material with their electric instruments though with smaller servings of music cable spaghetti as usually seen on their stages.

Earlier Thursday, via an Indiegogo fundraiser launch, Consider the Source announced that their next album would completely feature the hybrid version of the band on studio recording for the first time. They are inviting their fans, who they refer to as Sourcerors, to join them in this project by offering advancing copies, personalized voicemail recordings, live bootlegs, dinner with the band and more fun incentives to drum up funds. Watch the hilarious announcement video below featuring a teaser clip of a brand new song.  Visit the Indiegogo link for more info including a compete list of available funding rewards.

Consider the Source is gearing up for an epic 2020 with lengthy touring and plans to release a new HYBRID album in late summer consisting of songs written with both acoustic and electric instruments.  While known for their aggressive use of cutting-edge technology and technical wizardry, the band also has been developing a softer side.  This shift in stylistic approach is one that the band has wanted to do for quite some time, all the while staying true to their "Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Fusion" sound their fans have grown to love over the past 10+ years of hardcore touring.  This first glimpse was recorded live at Manifold Studios in Pittsboro, NC and is going to be a part of the Shakori Sessions podcast / video series due out in April.

Their future "HYBRID" album is currently available for pre-order via Indiegogo till Feb 1 per the link below.

In just a few weeks Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Prog-Rockers Consider the Source will reunite for their 3rd stream since quarantine, this time to bring back their famed "Radiohead Set". You may have caught their Radiohead rearrangements a few years ago when they introduced the concept at select festivals and venues but now the masses will have the opportunity to experience this performance from the comfort of their own homes.

Consider the Source has been touring steadily for the past 15 years, nationally and internationally building their army of dedicated fans dubbed Sourcerors. For those uninitiated with the sights and sounds of CTS, you may be wondering how a band of 3 instrumentalists could do justice to the Radiohead catalog which oozes of texture, tones and technology, all while supporting Thom Yorke's iconic vocal styling. The task would prove impossible for most instrumental trios but Consider the Source has managed to use their virtuosic abilities and cutting edge collection of gear to do so while also maintaining their own unique sound.

This will be a performance not to be missed whether you're a fan of CTS, Radiohead, or music in general. Don't take our word for it though, check out these pro-shot music videos for "Paranoid Android" and "Reckoner" as a sneak preview and tune in for the full show Saturday, July 25th at 9pm est on the CTS Facebook or YouTube pages.

Sci-fi jam scene shredders, Consider the Source, released the 3rd Volume in their “Fuck It! We’ll Do It Live” series.

Whereas the previous volumes were captured in front of live audiences, this version is unique to the times as it was taken from an all-improv live stream performance during the height of Covid-19 quarantine.

“No songs, no rehearsed parts, no preconceived riffs, no overdubs,  just 3 friends celebrating being able to make music in the same room together.“

This new "Fuck It! We'll Do It Live Volume 3: Improv Edition is available via Bandcamp only currently, all streaming platforms to follow shortly.

Speaking of Live CTS, with music being able to happen now in certain parts of the country and in socially distant venues CTS is very excited to hit the road this week for a 4-show tour! These are limited capacity socially distant shows, so please plan accordingly.

Thurs 10/22 Unknown Brewing Co. - Charlotte, NC (inside in large space)
Fri 10/23 Charlestown Pour House - Charleston, SC (outside on deck)
Sat 10/24 5 Points Music @ Wasena Park - Roanoke, VA (outside at park) **

We'll be bringing a collection of acoustic and electric instruments used on the album to the beautiful church converted venue, 5 Points Music Sanctuary in Roanoke, VA to sharing the music with you with the quality of audio and video we feel it deserves. We hope you'll buy a ticket, some exclusive Hybrid Album merch and share this special night in CTS history!

More about CTS...sci-fi fusion trio Consider the Source began in the underbelly of NYC performing improvisational heavy sets soaked in Indian and Middle Eastern styles. Once the band realized they had something truly original they decided to take it on the road leading to 15 years of touring the U.S. in addition to Israel, Germany, Turkey and a trip to India. Their studio catalog has evolved into a wide range of progressive rock, classical, jazz and Eastern European music mixed with many other styles from around the world. The band's sound is always evolving and has led them to constantly chase something new and exciting.

Consider the Source is living a purpose, a life together, having fun and creating art. Their next release due out on Ropeadope December 17, 2021 is titled Hybrid Vol. 1 | Such As A Mule, a reference to the mix of electric and acoustic tracks. The album brings the full CTS exploration, with an additional host of instruments - Uyghur Dutar, Banjo Bass, Dabuka, Dombra, Ukulele Bass, Djembe and more. It’s a strange thing to bring in a term like ‘Post-World Music’, but perhaps it is the best way to describe what is happening here. Consider the Source is not a world music band playing eastern European or Middle Eastern music, they are students of music and culture respecting the vast tradition and taking it into the 21st Century and beyond. This cultural fusion might also be a good descriptor, but in the end these terms fall short in describing the power and creativity at play here.

Just recently CTS released the first 2 singles off the forthcoming new album Hybrid Vol. 1: Such As A Mule that is due out on Ropeadope Records Dec 17 and pre-orders are currently live in their merch store.    The next single will be dropping this Friday December 3!

Consider the Source releases new video for "Rock, Flag & Eagle" & announces tour of intimate, seated performances in support of their recently released Acoustic/Electric Hybrid Album out on Ropeadope Records. For the first time ever, the band will be taking out their collection of acoustic instruments from around the world in addition to their signature axes to perform the album in full plus more. Many of these instruments will be new sights and sounds for western crowds. CTS cites Central Asia as an influence on this album in addition to the Eastern European, Turkish and Indian music they have been exploring their whole career.  Be sure to secure your tickets in advance for this one of a kind live musical experience.

"Rock, Flag & Eagle" is a song that takes influence from music from Kazakhstan and features the sounds of Dombra, Ukulele Bass, and Darbuka while combining them with a western harmonic and rhythmic sensibility. Filmed on a rocky shore in Rhode Island by Kettlebottom Creative, this video highlights the earthy elements of the music at play.

Consider the Source releases new video for "There Was Time Now" & starts their first ever hybrid tour this week of intimate, seated performances in support of their recently released Acoustic/Electric Hybrid Album out on Ropeadope Records. The have also added Tim Palmieri (of Lotus) & Jonny G (of lespecial) to select dates in April as support.

"There Was Time Now" is the 2nd official single from their newest album, "Hybrid Vol. 1: Such As A Mule". Those familiar with the band's usual setup will recognize the electric instruments seen here but appreciate the more toned down, less intense vibe. The key elements of the band's sound are all present here, from the Eastern influence to the catchy choruses to the mixture of composition and improvisation. "There Was Time Now" will take you on a musical journey and will be stuck in your head for days after. Even though this is a more stripped down sound for the band, it is still psychedelic and carries the well known CTS face-melting theme.

Sci-fi middle eastern fusion prog rockers Consider the Source announces their fall "Maxx Power Tour" and release a cover of Opeth's "Death Whispered a Lullaby".

Opeth is one of the few bands who influenced the three of us individually during our adolescent years and later collectively as a group. They write extended compositions that are emotionally dark and brilliantly tie together sections of extreme heaviness with mellow acoustic passages. Their top-notch production, tight rhythms and catchy melodies have become something we strive for in our own original music.

We've wanted to cover one of their songs for a long time but couldn't pick just one favorite. We hope you enjoy our interpretation of “Death Whispered A Lullaby” with a couple of our favorite riffs added in at the end from “Closure” and “Deliverance”.  - Consider the Source

The "Maxx Power Tour" will be their return to a fully electric performance too, earlier this year CTS toured behind their latest release "Hybrid Vol. 1: Such As A Mule" in a hybrid acoustic electric seated show format, but now it's time to get back to melting faces again!

Consider the Source releases spy-themed thriller video for "I Am Inevitable" off their latest Ropeadope release Hybrid Vol. 1: Such As A Mule & gears up for Maxx Power Tour starting this week in Baltimore.

"Manipulating the juxtaposition between light and dark frequently, the song tells a story of conflicting emotions which paradoxically need each other to exist. We wanted to surprise and challenge the listener by shifting these moods harmonically and dynamically. Playing with contrasts in this way gives each section its own platform. The title comes from Marvel Comics super villain Thanos however in classic CTS fashion, we took the quote out of context and when you read these words and then listen to the song, it conjures hope rather than destruction which was the initial intention. We know…we are nerds."  ~ CTS

More about CTS:

Sci-fi fusion trio Consider the Source defy easy categorization. If intergalactic energy beings, upon their initiation into an order of whirling dervishes, built a pan-dimensional booty-shaking engine powered by psychedelic math…it would sound like a cut-rate CTS cover band. With their blend of progressive rock and improvisatory jazz, soaked in Indian and Middle Eastern styles, CTS blends disparate elements into an utterly original whole. A relentless touring schedule has earned them a fervent following around the world, with fans ranging from tie dye covered hippies to metalheads decked out in black.

Fresh off the heels of a tour of seated performances which highlighted their acoustic instruments and first ever "hybrid" album, the band is ready to get back to the face-melting electric shows they have become known for. Their upcoming Maxx Power Tour will feature material from throughout the band's history, bringing back songs from the very beginning, each album, and a couple of the electric tracks from their latest effort "Hybrid Vol.1: Such As A Mule". Additionally, the band is preparing for the release of their next album in 2023 which they have shared will include "some of the heaviest music we have written yet" and plan to begin weaving into their live shows on this tour.

CTS have performed in a half-dozen countries across three continents. They have shared the stage with a wide variety of artists, including: Victor Wooten, King Crimson Projekt, Wyclef Jean, Ozric Tentacles, Soulive, The Disco Biscuits, Papadosio, Turkuaz, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Wayne Krantz, TAUK and many others. They have performed at festivals and events including: Electric Forest, Peach Fest, Gathering of the Vibes, Resonance, Summer Camp, Shakori Hills, ProgDay, and Progtober.

Instrumental Prog-Rockers Consider the Source found themselves with the opportunity to collaborate on an unlikely merchandise item about 4 years ago. After a show in Michigan, long-time fan DJ approached the band offering to make a custom hot sauce through his company, Lost Capital Foods. What seemed like a pipe dream to the 3 musicians at the time became very real months later with a taste testing and refining of the original recipe. CTS artwork aficionado Nate McClennen tied the whole thing together with his signature psychedelic cartoon artwork and "Consider the Sauce" was born.

The delicious sweet and mildly spicy Green Chile Saison sold over 500 bottles on Tour and online, quickly becoming a favorite for many fans with some even buying a case at a time. To celebrate the 500 milestone the band listened to their fans who craved psycho levels of heat and added a special Xtra Hot Edition with a heat level of 9/10.

Fast forward a few years and Consider the Source has steadily been selling their 2 varieties of hot sauce at their merch tables at shows across the country and online. At the time of this article they have sold approximately 1,250 total bottles of hot sauce and have no sign of turning back. Drummer Jeff Mann says, "To be completely honest, at this point we're selling more hot sauce than any of our music based products. We thought about packing up the music thing to focus on our sauce game but decided we can still do both. We're calling this Tour "The Heat Is On" after our song "The H Is O" to celebrate how successful our sauces with Lost Capital have been. It's really more of a hot sauce tour than a music tour but we'll be up on stage with our instruments each night doing our thing. We hope you can come catch a show but we'll know why you're really there."

THE HEAT IS ON TOUR DATES:

03.09  Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center - Greenfield, MA
03.10  Park City Music Hall - Bridgeport, CT

The single shows Underground Springhouse's reggae influence, keeping true to their established style while including many new layers of sounds. The music is a feel-good combination of reggae and rock, but the lyrics are a bittersweet take on the highs and lows of life. “I kind of wrote this song to cheer myself up one day” said singer Charlie Haas. “It’s about how life can be incredible one day and terrible the next, and everyone goes through that”. The band will be performing this song and others off their upcoming EP on their 2023 tour that spans from Georgia to Colorado.  Their tour kicks off next week with two back to back dates supporting Spafford at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh (NC) and The Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville (VA).  Then in February they will be headlining at the Georgia Theatre in Athens (GA) for a big Valentine's Day celebration and later in the month returning to headline at Terminal West in Atlanta (GA).

“More of the good, less of the bad.” That’s the motto upon which Underground Springhouse have built their sound and style. Exploring reggae, country, and funk influences within a rock ‘n roll context, Springhouse has crafted a genre-bending catalog that takes listeners from beaches to back roads with ear-worm hooks and head-bobbing grooves.

Their debut single, “Joyfell” (2018), has caught the ears of listeners around the country, galvanizing the band to become the touring and recording machine that they are today. Springhouse has since released a full length album, “Underground Springhouse” (2021), and an EP, “Tom Foolery” (2019), as well as a number of one-off singles. Their most recent release, single “I’ll Be Fine” (April 2022), sees the band incorporate southern rock and blues influences while staying true to their motto with the song’s chorus: “Gonna find myself an exit, a few cold beers, and a late-night breakfast and I’ll be fine.”

The band’s consistent recording output and dedicated touring schedule have helped grow their audience from a college town phenomenon into a frenetic mass of music lovers, particularly in the Southeast where Springhouse has headlined such venues as Athens’ Georgia Theatre and 40 Watt, Nashville’s Exit/In, Birmingham’s Avondale Brewing, Asheville’s Salvage Station, and Atlanta’s Terminal West. Fans should expect the unexpected at a Springhouse concert as no two shows look the same. The band’s fondness for improvisation and segues, and use of mashups and surprise covers make each show a unique experience, and keep fans coming back night after night.

Members Charlie Haas (guitar/vocals), Jackson Thompson (bass/vocals), Max Motley (keyboard/vocals), Mitch Davidson (guitar/vocals), and Jacob Sherwin (drums/percussion) met in Athens, Georgia while students at the University of Georgia. Underground Springhouse is a product of Athens’ renowned music scene, slowly evolving as the group grew from a dorm room project into the polished outfit they are today. Fall 2022 will see the group make their first trip to Texas, playing venues in Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. They'll also be making their festival debut at The Ramble Festival in Darlington, MD, as well as stopping at familiar venues like the Georgia Theatre and the Raleigh Pour House.

Consider the Source announce "Are You Watching Closely" tour and the first ever vinyl pressing of their 2009 album "Are You Watching Closely".

"We're proud to present the first batch of stops on our next Tour. We'll be highlighting songs from our album "Are You Watching Closely" in celebration of our first ever double vinyl pressing of the 2009 record as it approaches its 15 year anniversary. We'll have copies available at the shows and pre-orders have begun at our online store."

"We're also giving 3 lucky fans a chance to win a FREE pair of tickets to a show PLUS a vinyl test pressing of the album. Visit our Facebook or Instagram pages to enter."

“The original version took up about a side and a half on vinyl so we decided to do something special for this one. We added 2 bonus songs, Kashyyyk and Put Your Face Away, which we recorded remotely in each of our home studios and are calling “2023 BONUS DEMOS”. (Both songs had been performed live in the early days of the band but never recorded until now)”

Fusion legends Consider the Source released a psych rock single from their re-issued “Are You Watching Closely” album with a brand new video. “Kashyyyk” is a song the band played live in their early days but never recorded before, so decided to bring it back for this re-release. The song and video are a journey through the Eastern elements of the band's sound mixed with their signature blend of musical styles. Tune in, and blast off!

Jam scene shredders Consider the Source found themselves in a tough situation along with many bands a few years ago. For the first time in their career, in addition to not being able to travel and perform, they were unable to be in the same room and work on music together due to the pandemic. During this time the band learned to record their instruments in their homes and make demos remotely by sending tracks back and forth, refining their parts along the way. This newly acquired band skill came in handy when the group recently decided to press their 2nd album "Are You Watching Closely" to vinyl in celebration of its nearing 15-year anniversary. The original recording only took up a record and a half in the vinyl format so the band decided to do something special to fill the 4th side of the double pressing. They revived 2 songs which were played live only a few times in the early days of the group as 2023 Bonus Demos remotely recorded, edited, and mixed by the band members.

Today, the band has shared a video for one of those bonus songs, "Kashyyyk", which was produced by the multi-talented Jacob Nadeau (bassist of Nester) as well as edited in post by Francesca Belcastro. Together the two put in a combined 30+ hours of work into this futuristic video bringing together concepts of ancient history, nature, technology and begs the question of what is to come next?

Catch Consider the Source on their "Are You Watching Closely Tour" as they highlight songs from this classic album live and be sure to grab a vinyl at the merch stand or online here.
