Alan Evans Trio | The Other Side | Denver, CO | Review

The way the Alan Evans Trio was formed was an act of fate.   Guitarist Danny Mayer was drawn to Alan Evans first as a fan of the legendary group Soulive and then a musical connection was established that only magnified when they linked up with organ player Beau Sasser. Firstly, the combined energy that these guys have together is mind blowing. From the very beginning of the set to the very end the group maintained this outstandingly high energy. Just by being in their general presence you could clearly see and feel their unapologetic passion for the music they were producing. These men lost themselves within their music so much that half the photos I took didn’t turn out because they were moving so fast. With all of their energy and passion it is not surprising that that these guys pounded out their last album Drop Hop in just a couple days! "It was all coming together so well, I could hear the entire album in my head. I can honestly say, this is the first album I've ever recorded that came out exactly the way I dreamed it," stated Alan Evans

The Alan Evans Trio rolled through Colorado last month with shows in Fort Collins at Hodi’s Half Note and in Denver at The Other Side.  There is still time to catch them live with upcoming shows in New York and Florida.
