Mishawaka Ampitheatre Opens This Saturday

Mishawaka Amphitheatre's 2013 season commences this Saturday May 18 with Head For The Hills' Pickin on the Poudre, presented by 88.9 FM KRFC. This event has become a beloved tradition...opening the venue's summer season with the Fort Collins area's premier bluegrass group. Michael Chappell, Head For The Hills' mandolin player says “I don’t know if words can describe how much it means to us to kick off the Mishawaka season, it’s a really, really special place to us.”Drew Emmitt's new trio will perform at Pickin' On the Poudre as well, with Fort Collins based Mosey West opening the show at 8:00. Drew Emmitt is no stranger to the Mishawaka, having made many memorable trips fronting Leftover Salmon. Drew will debut his new trio line up Saturday, featuring Andy Thorn, also from Leftover Salmon, on banjo and Andy Hall, from Infamous Stringdusters on dobro.Mishawaka looks forward to an exciting season. Shows are presently on sale with headliners Dawes, Ryan Bingham, Cracker, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, Justin Townes Earle, Dark Star Orchestra, Bruce Hornsby, John Hiatt and more.The Poudre Canyon is alive with greenery and the river is flowing swiftly after abundant spring snows and rains. Mishawaka staff and Poudre Canyon friends are enjoying the sense of renewal the season has brought.
