Allman Brothers Band

New West Records just released Big Band of Brothers: A Jazz Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band. Released in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Allman Brothers Band’s debut album, the 10-song set of jazz interpretations of Allman Brothers Band favorites features Marc Broussard and Ruthie Foster on vocals on two songs each. Big Band of Brothers: A Jazz Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band also features Jack Pearson on guitar, who performed as a member of the Allman Brothers Band from 1997 to 1999.

“These Allman Family Revival shows have become an annual reunion for our musical family. This year, going from just one show in San Francisco to 3 shows including Denver and NYC is going to be epic. The musicians that have signed on have really upped the ante. We are so stoked to jam with our friends in Dad’s honor!” said Devon Allman.

It all started in the Haight Ashbury over 50 years ago: from the psychedelic ballroom bands of the late 1960's, the Grateful Dead emerged and went on to have a robust 30-year career with Jerry Garcia and another 24+ years post-Garcia. Rather than sticking with a scripted set list, the band flowed into the unfamiliar territory of improvisational concert celebrations that broke down the boundaries between musician and audience.

The Allman Family Revival will be returning for its third year in celebration of Gregg Allman's birthday, This year the show is expanding to 3 nation-wide performances. San Francisco at The Fillmore, Denver at the brand-new Mission Ballroom and NYC at The Beacon.

A portion of the proceeds will go to School of Rock, to help fund after school music programs that are picking up the slack for the alarming lack of in-school music programs declining nationwide.

THE ALLMAN FAMILY REVIVAL 2019

DECEMBER 7 San Francisco @ The Fillmore

A few months after the Allman Brothers Band released their revered fourth studio album Brothers And Sisters, legendary frontman, vocalist, pianist Gregg Allman stepped out on his own with his masterful debut solo album Laid Back. Co-produced by Allman along with Johnny Sandlin, the collection of songs was a creative outlet where he was able to assume full control and explore his varying influences, including rhythm and blues and soul music.

As part of the ongoing celebration of their 50th anniversary, on September 6 the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND Recording Company--caretakers of the original band's unreleased catalog--in conjunction with distributor The Orchard will release a four-CD set titled Fillmore West '71, culled from an epic weekend of live music recorded at the legendary San Francisco venue.

BMG is proud to announce THE DICKEY BETTS BAND release of Ramblin’ Man: Live at The St. George Theatre on July 26, 2019. This new audio and video recording captures THE DICKEY BETTS BAND at a special, intimate performance recorded on July 21, 2018 at the historic St. George Theatre on Staten Island in New York City.

Los Angeles is bursting with musicians, but few can boast resumes on the order of Paul Ill (bass, vocals), Mark Tremaglia (guitar and vocals), Randy Ray Mitchell (guitar, vocals), and Dan Potruch (drums).  Live and in the studio, they’ve played with such artists as Linda Perry, Courtney Love, Mick Taylor, Matt Sorum, Daniel Lanois, Jackie DeShannon, Elvin Bishop, Warren Zevon, Donna Summer, Billy Bob Thornton, Deron Johnson, and Keb’ Mo.

Voodoo Dead continued their tradition of playing late night shows during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, with a two-night run at Republic NOLA on Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th. Special guest Brandon "Taz” Niederauer joined the all-star band on guitar Saturday as fans enjoyed a rockin’ two-set show that kept the music going well into Sunday morning.

The Brothers and Sisters Reunion, a collaboration of “A-List” musicians that includes former members of the Allman Brothers Band and related offshoots including the Gregg Allman Band, Dickey Betts Band, etc. These individuals were deeply intertwined in creating the sound of this Southern Rock “feel-good” music we all know and love.
