Grateful Dead music continues to inspire and muse generations of contemporary musicians. When the band played, their music fostered an experience each night that transformed the ordinary bounds of everyday life beyond possibility. A trip into the transcendental. Even if the words and melodies were familiar to followers, something about their approach of spontaneity and improvisation combined with an overarching reworking of Americana made the music familiar and new simultaneously.

The team at Catskill Chill Music Festival has released the schedule for the fourth annual 3-day camping event taking place September 6th - 8th in Hancock, NY. The schedule unveils a packed line-up of live music on five stages including the expanded Acoustic Junction and the new Redbull Campsite DJ Truck.

Lock up your daughters and hide your sisters, the five-piece Americana outfit Rose’s Pawn Shop is hitting the road this fall on a fourteen-day west coast tour that will take the band along the pacific coast and through the mountain west  including stops in Oregon, California, Washington, Montana, Utah and Colorado.Known for watertight musicianship and soaring harmonies, the LA based string band has been blowing the roof off of basement dives and packed theaters since the release of their 2010 album, Dancing on the Gallows.

The sounds of fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, dobro, and accordion blend in Trout Steak Revival’s bluegrass-inspired mountain music. While each member of the band composes original tunes, harmonic contributions are added by the entire band, following in the bluegrass tradition and creating a unique sound. In just a few short years the band has built a steady and spirited fan base across Colorado and beyond.

Dark Star Orchestra has announced it will ring in 2014 by returning to Huntington, NY's The Paramount for two nights, December 30 and 31.
