GW: Describe the recording process for Call the Captain for our readers. What was the vibe like in the studio? And what drew you to Bill Reynolds as producer?

At age 23 I was negotiating my first, real job, trying to balance social commitments, a tad self-absorbed, overly anxious and sadly eating apples and peanut butter with a side of cheese and crackers for dinner. (Well, truth be told, my dinner is still this pathetic array, but I moved to expensive gluten free alternatives and predominately goat as a better dairy option.) I was just trying to stay afloat, not making societal contributions.

After careful consideration of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, we are making the difficult decision to postpone Leftapalooza 2020. The event is now planned to take place on Saturday August 22nd at Roosevelt Park in Longmont, Colorado. Consistent with the recommendations of the CDC and state and local officials we believe that it is prudent to postpone a large event such as Leftapalooza in the interest of the general safety of Longmont residents, our volunteers, staff, and partners. It is paramount that we continue focus our attention on our community and our economy.

Born from the dark, rich soil of Charleston, West Virginia, Sierra Ferrell cut her teeth on the rail lines, truck stops, street corners and dingy, dimly-lit listening rooms across the land. Like the siren’s call, Ferrell’s voice draws those who hear her hauntingly, soulful thrum into a mesmerizing music experience they’ll never forget.

It’s one thing to claim you are “proven,” it’s quite another to have the credentials to back it up. Comprised of five of the most formidable musicians on the blues scene today — guitarist Kid Ramos, vocalist Brian Templeton, keyboardist Anthony Geraci, bassist Willie J. Campbell and drummer Jimi Bott — the band has collectively amassed a slew of accomplishments; dozens of awards won, decades of years playing top-notch music, hundreds of recordings, thousands of hours on the road, and millions of fans worldwide.

Kyle LaLone has the quintessential, classic, country sound and the messages to match. His five-song album, “Somewhere In Between,” scheduled to be released in April is personal. His tracks focus on his struggles with sobriety, learning about his true self and of course it wouldn’t be genuine country without a love song or two.

Letitia VanSant released her sophomore album, “Circadian.” Her debut record was “Gut It to the Studs.” I was intrigued by the description of this Baltimore-based singer/songwriter as distinct, vibrant and folkie with strong indie arrangements. Unfamiliar with her sound, I had a listen.

The legendary UK band and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Hollies, whose hits include "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother," "The Air That I Breathe," "Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress)," "Bus Stop,""Carrie-Anne" and "Sorry Suzanne," will be bringing its 'The Road Is Long Tour' to the USA in 2020. The tour will be the band's first full USA tour in 18 years.

The release of Restless Leg String Band’s newest tune “My Blood" quickly follows the title-track release "Seasonal Progression" off their upcoming album release coming later in 2020. Written by Jonathan Bramel (Banjo/Resonator) this song is an unexpected funky-gem for the Kentucky Progressive Jamgrassers
