A snowy Chicago evening at the Concord Music Hall showcased The Devil Makes Three with opening act Roebuck on January 12th, 2018.  The Concord has a gentleman’s club swanky kind of vibe happening.  The animal print and gold leaf wallpaper were entirely in line with Roebuck, and the Ruin & Redemption feel of DM3’s last release.

It’s no secret that great art comes from the margins. From those who are either pushed to create from inner forces, or who create to show they deserve to be recognized. Los Angeles-based street singer, guitarist, and roots music revolutionary Sunny War has always been an outsider, always felt the drive to define her place in the world through music and songwriting.

Canadian Singer-Songwriter DYLYN just released her newest single, "WOLF."

This song was the aftermath of a shitty breakup and my family divide. It was as if the universe was telling me to rebel and revert to autopilot. Shutting my feelings off for a little while was a much easier way to live - misery loves a hot guy.

Today, roots dub reggae artist Scott Woodruff, aka Stick Figure, dropped “Easy Runaway” - a lush new single inspired by mid-tempo electronica. “Easy Runaway” was written, recorded, and produced by Woodruff and is the second track to be released from a forthcoming album that is currently in the works. Yesterday, fans heard an exclusive first listen of the track when it premiered on SiriusXM The Joint.

Soulive has announced the release of 'Cinematics, Vol. 1.' The long-awaited EP—due February 23 on digital and vinyl formats via the trio's own imprint Soulive Music—is the first new music in six years from the genre-smashing groove masters. The collection's debut single, "Kings March," is out today on all DSPs and is accompanied by a video from the recording sessions.

Thinking you've seen the John Kadlecik Band before is like saying you've heard Jerry play, "Dark Star," before. And if you haven't seen JKB, well then, you just don't know, do you? Ever dynamic, John has long since moved from prodigy to mentor. Master of the improvisational moment, one never knows what might arise when John takes the stage, and that alone is reason enough to set foot on the hill. Mixing and matching bands like notes on his guitar, John is joined by Further's Jay Lane on drums, the ever versatile, Benjie Porecki on keys, and frequent, Terrapin Flyer, Wavy Dave Burlingame on bass, (maybe a banjo, maybe not) setting the conditions for a unique, wonder-filled, mind-enriching musical experience.

Acclaimed brother-sister duo The Oh Hellos will release their forthcoming EP, Eurus, on Friday, February 9. The lead single, “Grow,” premieres today on American Songwriter, who proclaim, “The track ponders personal growth and open-mindedness, building from a gently delivered opening verse to a full-band singalong—a hallmark of the duo’s sound—by its midpoint.” Listen/share the song here.

“The question is not, how do we get diversity into bluegrass, but how do we get diversity back into bluegrass?” asked Rhiannon Giddons during her keynote at the 2017 IBMA conference.  The answer is Nefesh Mountain.  Yes, Beneath The Open Sky is a bluegrass album. Yes, some of its lyrics are sung in Hebrew. No, it isn’t a gimmick or a parody. And, no, it’s not klezmer music.
