Guitarist Felix Rentschler, bassist Edwin Hurwitz, and drummer Jonathan Abel met at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1983. A few years later, after graduation, Edwin brought his friends in to fire up blues band Graffiti, featuring Jeff Grove on tenor sax and vocals. The seeds of Shockra chemistry were sown. Graffiti made some forays into the Boston bar scene, but Felix, Edwin, Jeff, and Jonathan wanted to break free of the blues genre and, after adding "Spaceship" Dan Coutu on keyboards, Shockra was born.

On his new album, Dirt Road Confessional, Jeffery Straker continues push the boundaries of what it means to be a piano balladeer. With themes both contemplative and joyous, the 12- song collection encapsulates the seasoned Saskatchewan singer/songwriter's experiences of playing over 200 shows around the world since the release of his previous album, 2015’s North Star Falling.

Old Shoe is excited to announce that the long awaited follow up to the band’s 2013 release, Family, is finally here. Country Home features 13 all-original tracks. In a search to find their own Country Home, the album was written over the course of the last couple years with a good portion of the tunes being written in Oneida County, WI at a country home. The album was recorded at the same studio as their earlier release Family, I.V. Labs Studio in Chicago and is engineered, mixed, and co-produced by Chris Harden.

This coming Monday 18th September flamboyant British rock’n’roll band The Struts will be playing a hugely anticipated headline show at the Electric Ballroom in London. They are delighted to announce that fast-rising Sheffield band Bang Bang Romeo will be supporting them.
 
The Struts will themselves be supporting The Rolling Stones at two of their European shows later that week. They will be playing alongside the rock ‘n’ roll giants in Zurich, Switzerland on the 20th and Lucca, Italy on the 23rd.

Michael Franti and Spearhead brought the 'Love Out Loud' tour to McMenamins Edgefield Amphitheater in Troutdale, Oregon, on September 9. The show featured positive vibes from the opening acts Choir, Choir, Choir, which had the crowd singing along, and singer-songwriter Ethan Tucker, who played a few acoustic songs, to Franti's two-hour heart felt performance.
