Ever since winning the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, Trout Steak Revival has quickly become a quintessential Colorado band.  The band won an Emmy Award for a soundtrack they contributed to a Rocky Mountain PBS.  They’ve collaborated with school children in mentoring programs in Denver and Steamboat Springs.  Their music is featured on Bank of Colorado’s radio and television advertisements.

Outside Lands celebrated its 10th year this August but at first glance, it runs like its been going on for much longer. The caliber of food, drink, performers, and even extra-curricular activities is unmatched on most other festival grounds.

Leftover Salmon released a song from their forthcoming album several weeks ahead of the anticipated release in response to the terrorist attack at protests in Charlottesville, VA. Aptly titled "House of Cards," the song is a reaction to the recent political climate and the direct impact of the nation's leaders on actions of unsatisfied civilians. They also released an accompanying video that shows powerful footage from the last several months in the mainstream political media.

Classic rock music fans descended on the Greek Theatre located in the hills above Hollywood, Thursday, August 10th, for a show by veteran rockers Steve Miller and Peter Frampton.

Celebrating twelve years, this festival continues to provide some of the best acts in the region and some amazing full touring bands. This year’s campground was huge, with quiet tent camping, a rowdier camping area, and an RV park—all along the beautiful Rio Grande. There were also activities for children in the Kid Zone, this year marked by huge tipis that were constructed on the site. An art area sprung up by the Beach, a sandy area where a few people launched floats or played in the bracing water.

Slightly Stoopid have raised over $20,000 for charity through a successful artwork auction. The hand painted stills, which were turned into a music video for the band’s latest single “One Bright Day”, caught the attention of fans worldwide as well as Hard Rock International. Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Global BrightLight Foundation (GBL), a nonprofit that provides affordable solar energy solutions to rural and impoverished communities globally.
