On March 24, Red Baraat will release Bhangra Pirates (Rhyme & Reason Records), a new album that reflects a more evolved and elaborate sound developed over the last two years of heavy touring and the addition of a full-time guitar player. The record features 8 tracks on the band’s first-ever vinyl release and 2 bonus tracks on the CD version.

2017 is shaping up to be a big year for Balkan Beat Box following the release of their 5th studio album Shout it Out last November. While putting the finishing touches on new music offerings to be released in the new year, the band have announced tour dates in select markets with additional dates tba soon. Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad's Make It Better has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. Make It Better (released September 16, 2016 on Rootfire Cooperative) is the band's sixth studio album and their second release to claim the #1 spot on the Billboard Reggae Chart.

Des Moines-based, indie soul band, GoodcaT, share their video for title track, “To Eternity,” from their upcoming full length release. Impose Magazine premiered the video, describing it as a “...beautifully shot exploration of a garden through the eyes of children layered with gorgeous dance and movement. Contrasting light and dark, with the common thread of a layer of chiffon through both visuals bring about an intense idea of innocence lost” (Impose).

Butch Trucks, a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, tragically died the night of January 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida.  His wife, four children, four grandchildren and all of the Allman Brothers Band, their families and Road Crew survive Butch. The Trucks and Allman Brothers Band families request all of Butch's friends and fans to please respect our privacy at this time of sadness for our loss.  Butch will play on in our hearts forever.

Many Canadian music fans know Joel Plaskett. Multiple JUNO Award winning songwriter. Multiple times on the Polaris Music Prize Short List. Sold out clubs and concert halls from one side of the country to the other. But in 2017 he’ll be sharing the spotlight with his earliest musical influence - his father, Bill Plaskett. Solidarity, to be released on Pheromone Recordings February 17, 2017, is the first full-length musical collaboration between father and son.

A raging storm blew through southern California on a cold and rainy Sunday night, January 22, but that didn’t stop ardent fans from braving the lefts to come out to the Canyon Club for an electrifying concert by Tony Levin’s Stick Men. The band started as a solo project for Levin with the releases of his Stick Man album in 2007.

The Summer of Love is a celebration of the original “Human Be-In” held in San Francisco in 1967 promoting the principles of Peace, Love and Compassion.  This event is considered by many to be the birth of the counter-culture and the spark that ignited the 60’s Hip movement; which took the world by storm. Presidents were impeached and wars were stopped, a sea of humanity stood up and said “Hell No”.

Instrumental rock-fusion quartet TAUK have added new dates to their 2017 tour. Headlining some of the biggest venues to date in Denver, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and New York, the tour will take them around the country before a summer festival season that will see them featured at Summercamp, Electric Forest, FloydFest, LOCKN’ and more.
