Step inside the mysterious realm of Rothbury and you will find yourself inside a music festival unlike any other in existence.

The inaugural South Park Music & Camping Festival, presented by Cannabis Network Radio & KTCL 93.3FM, will take place on 4th of July Weekend (July 3 - 5, 2014) at the beautiful American Safari Ranch in Fairplay, Colorado. South Park Music Festival (SPMF) celebrates a love for music and our rights and freedom of choice by honoring the legalization of cannabis in Colorado over the country's Independence Day weekend.

It is quite rare for album art to get noticed in the age of iTunes and Mp3 players. But I found myself captivated by the cover of Analog Son’s eponymously titled debut album when it arrived in the mail. I couldn’t help but notice a distinct similarity to one of funk’s most celebrated records. On the cover of Maggot Brain, Funkadelic’s ‘71 masterpiece, a woman is buried neck deep in the dirt, her licorice-colored Afro almost camouflaged by the soil that surrounds it.

An unbelievable line-up. Food made fresh, local and right. Camping that’s just enough jam-session, just enough ‘kick back and watch the sunset.’ An energy that is beyond description. It’s the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in the foothills of the Catksills outside of Albany, NY, July 17-20 and its high time you came to this premier bluegrass extravaganza. Nickel Creek has reunited and the Del McCoury Band will be there to celebrate for 2 nights in honor of silver haired leader’s 75th birthday.

Strike up a conversation with Rob McCoury, and it won’t take long for you to realize that you’ve met one of the most easygoing musicians around—a guy who’s happy to chat with just about anyone on just about anything, or to just quietly watch and enjoy what’s going on around him.  When he puts on his banjo picks, though, it’s another story.  “My first love will always be traditional bluegrass,” he says with a smile.  “When it’s right, there’s just nothing better.

Baltimore-based electro-funk band, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have released a track off their upcoming album entitled Psychology, which is set to release on July 3rd. “F.U.” features The Hornitz on bass trombone and alto saxophone and is available now on Grooveshark.Psychology is the band's second LP in four years. The foursome will celebrate the release at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC with Cabinet and B Side Shuffle.
