Darol Anger

Closing out the month of July, the production triumph that is Planet Bluegrass made the magic happen once again with the legendary three-day event RockyGrass.

Mr. Sun brings together four of the most virtuosic musicians in acoustic music. Led by Darol Anger, an iconic fiddler and founding father of new acoustic music, the four musicians in the band span three generations and offer some of the most jaw-dropping instrumental prowess to be found in any genre. Their sophomore release EXTROVERT picks up where their much-lauded debut left off, exploring the grooves and melodies that exist at the intersection of bluegrass, jazz and swing.

The String Cheese Incident revealed several longtime friends that will be joining in on the fun this year at the 1STBANK Center. Please welcome Sam Bush & Darol Anger to the party on Friday the 28th. On Saturday the 29th we're going all out with Robert Randolph, Ivan Neville, Ian Neville & Tony Hall. New Year's Eve will feature three sets of SCI (no openers any night). You don't want to miss this!

Darol Anger will convene an extra-special edition of his Republic Of Strings band in Colorado in April 2017, featuring Enion Pelta (Fiddle), Emy Phelps (Vocals), Mike Robinson (Guitar) & Eric Thorin (Bass). Catch them in Boulder at Naropa University, April 23rd.

As far as ways to start off 2013, you can’t do much better than Yonder Mountain String Band at the Boulder Theater. Mixing a balanced setlist that featured a little bit of everything with the inimitable Darol Anger on the fiddle made for a tasty New Year’s Eve stew.

In the build up to their five-night run at The Boulder Theater, Yonder Mountain String Band announced that a guest musician would be sitting in with them each evening.

Catching hometown jamgrass legends Yonder Mountain String Band has become a Denver holiday tradition, as the band has performed New Year's Eve concerts here every year for the better part of the last decade.  From electric performances at the Paramount Theater, a supporting/collaborative effort last year with Widespread Panic at the Pepsi Center, to multiple showings at the Fillmore Auditorium the band has routinely and successfully rung in each New Year with the Colorado faithful.
