Grateful Dead

Another decade another night at Red Rocks for Bob Weir.  Joined by RatDog for the current lineup's first appearance and co-headlining with Colorado native sons String Cheese Incident, Bobby celebrated his

Phil Lesh like his Grateful Dead bandmates are the force behind the jam festival culture today. Lesh is continuing to tour this summer, along with some topnotch young jam musicians.

The Planet Drum 2006 Tour reunites Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain, Sikiru Adepoju, and Giovanni Hidalgo for a September series of West Coast shows in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the ground-breaking album of that name.  Planet Drum was released in 1991 on the Rykodisc label and went on to earn the first-ever Grammy in the World Music category.  The tour is the groups first in almost a decade.  It also marks the resumption of an artistic relationship – between Mickey Hart and Zakir Hussain – that goes back to the late 1960s.

Vince died Friday, June 2nd.  He played keyboards with the Grateful Dead from September 1990 - August 1995.  Though he received a lot of criticism during his tenure, Vince was a loving, happy guy who played his heart out with the band.  Grateful Web sends our thoughts to his family and friends.  Thanks for your loving nature, Vince. We'll miss you...

Thanks to Jann L for this picture! Jerry's coming back to the big island (Kona) after a day spent scuba diving. Jann told us Jerry could spend more time under water on one tank than any body else.

If you'd like to share your Jerry pictures, we'll be more than happy to tell your story too. Thanks for sharing, Jann!

thanks,

Phil Lesh & Friends joins an already jam-packed lineup of artists for a headlining performance at the 4th Annual 10,000 Lakes Festival (10KLF) July 19-22, 2006 at the Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, MN.

The perfect addition to 10KLF's rich musical diversity, former Grateful Dead bassist and his band, Phil Lesh & Friends, perform on the Main Stage Friday, July 21, joining festival headliners Trey Anastasio on July 22 and The String Cheese Incident on July 20.

The "Grateful Garicia Gathering" will be returning back to the beautiful "Camp NCN" on August 4th, 5th, & 6th 2006, in beautiful Black River Falls Wisconsin. This mellow gathering will be a celebration of Jerry Garcia's Birthday, plus the 11th Annivesary of Jerrys untimely passing. This is going to be a very deeply humble, and special time for camping and gathering with friends of old and new!

The Grateful Dead's Donna Jean Godchaux and The Zen Tricksters, the pre-eminent jam-rock band, have come together. While having performed on occasion with the Zen Tricksters in the past, this reunion marks the second time Donna Jean has joined with this band for a complete performance. The first time was just last November 12, 2005 for the Grateful Dead's Rex Foundation. They are joining forces, along with Mookie Siegel (David Nelson Band, Phil Lesh & Friends) on keyboards and Wendy Lanter (Hope in Time) on vocals, as KETTLE JOE'S PSYCHEDELIC SWAMP REVUE.

Among deadheads and weir-dos across Colorado the cheerful feeling was mutual as the crowd poured out of the Fillmore Auditorium Friday night after Bob Weir and RatDog threw down a celebration in the heart Denver.
