New York-based rock collective Circus Mind has released their dynamic new single “Melt Away”, a high-energy fusion of psychedelic, progressive, and jam influences. The track features a guest appearance from Scott Metzger (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, LAMP), whose commanding guitar work amplifies the track’s intensity and depth.
“Melt Away” moves with relentless pace, balancing psychedelic and progressive textures with improvisational spirit. The song’s lyrical theme, driven by keyboardist, vocalist, and composer Mark Rechler, addresses the growing impact of climate change and rising ocean levels. “It’s sort of a dark tale of one of the possible futures of this little beautiful world we live in,” says Rechler. “And I question why most humans aren’t more focused on this reality. I guess it’s a kind of warning.”
The track’s rhythm section—Mathew Fox (bass), Dan Roth (drums), and Steve Finkelstein (percussion)—provides a grounded and powerful foundation, combining precision with a tribal undertone. Rechler’s vibrant synths and Metzger’s sharp, expressive leads create a compelling mix of urgency and emotion.
