Using the ocean as a metaphor, the music mirrors a reflective undercurrent—with voices and rhythms flowing together in waves of tension, release, and self-discovery.
Varijashree Venugopal brings her unique vocal style, a seamless fusion of Carnatic classical tradition and jazz phrasing, adding prayer-like depth and improvisational texture. Cenk Erdoğan’s one-of-a-kind fretless guitar introduces fluid, Middle Eastern tones, while the fiery Mohini Dey’s dynamic bass anchors the song’s rhythmic undercurrent.
“The ocean always was a big part of my healing journey through most of my life,” says Gore. “Varijashree, Cenk, and Mohini turned this song into a transcendent experience that is far beyond what I imagined possible when I first wrote it.”
“The Ocean” invites listeners into a space where duality disappears. Thought and emotion melt, and time and space converge, resulting in release and then acceptance.
