On the crisp autumn evening of October 30, 2025, the iconic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles transformed into sacred rock-and-roll ground for A 60th Anniversary Doors Celebration. This one-night-only tribute honored one of the most influential and transformative bands in music history, concluding a yearlong commemoration centered around Morrison Hotel and The Doors’ unparalleled legacy. Fans, family, and an all-star lineup of musicians gathered to celebrate Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore—with Krieger himself leading the charge through a night rich with nostalgia, artistry, and emotion.

The evening opened with Tripform, fronted by Pablo Manzarek, son of the late Ray Manzarek. His set bridged past and present beautifully, honoring his father’s legacy while confidently carving his own artistic path. It was a reverent, heartfelt way to ease the crowd into what would become an electrifying celebration.

Robby Krieger then took the stage with a powerhouse ensemble featuring Ed Roth (keyboards), Dan Rothchild (bass), Ty Dennis (drums), and Krieger’s son Waylon on guitar. Their two-hour journey through deep cuts and forever-favorites spanned The Doors’ six studio albums, with Krieger’s unmistakable guitar tone resonating through the Greek just as powerfully as it did decades ago.

This show also marked the finale of The Doors’ yearlong 60th-anniversary festivities—a celebration that earlier included a run of sold-out performances at the Whisky A Go Go, the legendary venue where The Doors first took flight in 1966.

A Setlist Filled With Legends

As the tribute unfolded, a carousel of guest artists stepped into the spotlight, each adding their own voice and vision to The Doors’ timeless catalog.

Fantastic Negrito

Fantastic Negrito kicked off the collaborative segment with blistering versions of “Break On Through (To the Other Side)” and “Five to One,” delivering a raw, soul-charged performance that brought the crowd immediately to its feet.

Dan Rothchil

Waylon Krieger joined his father for “Not To Touch the Earth,” “Wild Child,” and “Queen of the Highway,” creating a stirring generational moment that echoed the band’s original spirit.

Carmine Appice
Haley Reinhart

Momentum continued with Kevin Martin, Adam Kury, and Carmine Appice powering through a ferocious “Back Door Man” and a devastatingly good “When the Music’s Over.” Haley Reinhart followed with a sultry, psychedelic “People Are Strange,” her voice sliding effortlessly through the song’s moody contours.

Perry Farrell
Orianthi

Perry Farrell and Orianthi, backed by Steven Adler, set the Greek ablaze with fiery renditions of “Roadhouse Blues” and “Waiting for the Sun.” Deryck Whibley brought punk urgency to “You Make Me Real” and “Peace Frog,” injecting youthful grit and adrenaline.

Greg Gonzalez

Greg Gonzalez of Cigarettes After Sex then shifted the mood, offering ethereal, dream-like takes on “Blue Sunday,” “You’re Lost Little Girl,” and an achingly beautiful “Riders on the Storm.” John Doe followed with commanding versions of “The Spy” and “Maggie M’Gill,” underscoring The Doors’ influence across generations and genres.

Above Ground 2025

One of the evening’s peak moments came when Robert DeLeo joined Farrell and Orianthi for “Touch Me,” setting the stage for the explosive finale: Billy Idol and Steve Stevens tearing through “L.A. Woman” and “Light My Fire,” with Robby Krieger’s solo weaving in motifs from “Eleanor Rigby” and “My Favorite Things” in a dazzling final flourish.

Reflections on a Rock Legacy

In the end, A 60th Anniversary Doors Celebration was more than a tribute—it was a revival. The Doors’ spirit, daring, and mystery were brought roaring back to life by a cast of musicians who clearly understood the weight of this legacy. Under the Greek Theatre’s glowing lights, fans of all ages shared in an experience that felt less like a concert and more like a communal ceremony honoring one of rock’s most enduring forces.
