The Lowest Pair Release Poignant New Single “The Uncertain Seas” Off First Album in Six Years ALWAYS AS YOUNG AS WE’LL EVER BE
Celebrated Americana/folk duo The Lowest Pair has released their new single “The Uncertain Seas.” The song appears on their forthcoming album Always As Young As We’ll Ever Be, out January 23rd.
“The Uncertain Seas” is an affecting track that features tender vocal harmonies and moving lyrics that address the longing for an emotional connection and the deep desire to understand how to fully give oneself to another. The song exudes warmth and sincerity while trying to navigate the challenges of a relationship. Kendl Winter of The Lowest Pair offers, “‘Uncertain Seas’ is a song about trying to get comfortable with not having answers or resolution, trying to fix unfixable things and pondering what you could have done better in a relationship, wishing you could have done better, while at the same time trying to move on.” Listen to “The Uncertain Seas” HERE.
Always As Young As We’ll Ever Be is The Lowest Pair’s first studio album in six years, and was produced by Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket, Neko Case). The new offering finds the duo of Winter and Palmer T. Lee expanding their sonic palette without losing the captivating minimalism that has defined their sound.
The album contains 10 songs that do not seek to escape life’s problems but instead sit with them and find the wonder in uncertainty and grace in imperfection. The Lowest Pair remind us that love, grief, joy, disappointment, failure and renewal are all part of the same beautiful cycle, one that affects but also interconnects us all.
The Lowest Pair recently announced a European Tour in January and February 2026. See full list of dates below and stay tuned for U.S. dates
