ACCLAIMED ALBUM AMERICAN ROMANCE OUT NOW VIA SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE

Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and musician Lukas Nelson has released American Romance, too, a new two-song collection featuring “A Certain Someone” and “The Last Wild River.” Listen and share here. The new tracks arrive as a companion to his acclaimed 2024 album American Romance, further expanding the creative world he introduced on that record.

Of the new music, Nelson shares, “This next little gift of songs come from separate fountains of the American Romance spring. ‘Certain Someone’ is a hopeful song that came assisted by Anderson East and Foy Vance, recorded at Anderson’s studio. The concept was born as I was walking along the river in Boston, MA. ‘The Last Wild River’ I wrote along the Yampa River in Colorado with a good friend, who explained to me that the Yampa was one of the last rivers in America that wasn’t dammed up. We recorded it at Shooter Jennings’ studio in LA. I’m grateful to have these other songs to complement what was an incredibly inspiring moment musically. I hope you enjoy!”

The release adds to an already monumental year for Lukas Nelson, whose album American Romance is nominated for Best Traditional Country Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards. Stream or purchase the full album here. In support of the project, Nelson has recently been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Howard Stern Show, The Joe Rogan Experience, and Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast.

Produced by Grammy Award-winner Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker), American Romance cements Nelson as a singular artist, showcasing his songwriting dexterity and country-blended sound in a way that feels both familiar and new. Across twelve tracks, including collaborations with Sierra Ferrell and Stephen Wilson Jr., Nelson tells road-tested stories of life, love, and heartbreak from years spent crisscrossing the country.

The record also features special contributions from Anderson East (“Disappearing Light,” producer) and SistaStrings (“Montana,” cello and viola), as well as Matt Chamberlain (drums), Corey McCormick (bass), Marty Muse (dobro), Russ Pahl (pedal steel), Chris Powell (drums), Brian Whelan (acoustic guitar), and Eleanor Whitmore (fiddle).

Since his debut over a decade ago, Nelson has become one of the most respected voices in roots and country music, releasing eight studio albums, including 2023’s Sticks and Stones, which spent 18 weeks in the top 10 of the Americana Albums chart and reached #1 on the Alt Country chart. A highly sought-after collaborator both in the studio and on stage, he has worked with artists such as Lainey Wilson, Ernest, Miranda Lambert, The Pistol Annies, and more.

Earlier this year, Nelson also performed at the MusiCares 2025 Person of the Year Gala, honoring the Grateful Dead with a moving rendition of “It Must Have Been the Roses” alongside Sierra Ferrell. He has sold out countless headline shows, appeared at major festivals including Stagecoach, Ohana Festival, Bourbon & Beyond, and Farm Aid, and made multiple late-night TV appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

In addition to his solo work, Nelson co-produced and co-wrote much of the music for the acclaimed 2018 film A Star is Born, in which he also appeared. The soundtrack went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and a BAFTA Award for Best Original Music.
