More on Cypress Hill
More than three decades ago, B-Real, Sen Dog, and DJ Muggs ignited a cultural movement that left popular music stunned and forever changed. Formed in Los Angeles and named after a local street, Cypress Hill burst onto the scene in 1991 with their self-titled debut album. Singles like “How I Could Just Kill a Man” and “The Phuncky Feel One” became underground anthems, while the group’s unapologetic pro-marijuana stance earned them a fiercely loyal following.
Their breakthrough album Black Sunday debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 1993, went triple platinum, earned three GRAMMY® nominations, and made Cypress Hill the first rap group to place two albums in the Billboard Top 10 simultaneously. They also became the first Latino-American hip-hop group to achieve platinum and multi-platinum success.
Since then, Cypress Hill have released multiple acclaimed albums, including Elephants on Acid (2018), received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019, and continued expanding their cultural footprint with projects like the Insane in the Brain documentary (2022), praised by The New York Times and Variety for its exploration of the group’s lasting influence.
In July 2024, Cypress Hill once again made pop culture history with a sold-out performance alongside the London Symphony Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall—an event famously predicted decades earlier on The Simpsons. Hailed as a defining moment in hip-hop crossover history, the performance showcased Black Sunday in a groundbreaking orchestral setting and reaffirmed Cypress Hill’s place as true innovators.
With Haunted Rocks, Cypress Hill bring that legacy back to Red Rocks for a night that promises to be equal parts history lesson, celebration, and unforgettable live experience.
