Despite travel arrangements gone awry, the legendary Stanley Jordan and his band brought their magic to the Catskill Mountains at Arrowhead Ranch & Retreat in Parksville, NY, on Saturday, August 15th.

Known mainly for his unique tapping style and jazz/fusion playing, Stanley was a member of Phil & Friends on and off for about 10 years and brings his own cosmic variations to the music of the Grateful Dead.

The four-piece band, featuring Kenwood Dennard on drums, Greg Koerner on bass, and Jesse Hiatt on keys, romped through two sets of Jimi Hendrix and Grateful Dead classics, including “Voodoo Chile” and “Foxy Lady,” along with “Dark Star” and “Stella Blue.”

A small but enthusiastic crowd was spread out on the grassy field for a beautiful, sunny afternoon of spectacular music in the mountains.

Shakedown Citi will be at the ranch on Sunday, August 30 from 1-4 pm to perform before the Jerry Garcia Symphonic show at Bethel Woods, only 30 minutes away.
