DENVER, CO — Denver-based five-piece Americana folk-rock band Heavy Diamond Ring will release its new EP, Let Love Be Enough, October 16, 2026, via Gitcha Records. The collection marks a new chapter for the longtime musical partnership of vocalist Sarah Anderson and guitarist/songwriter Paul DeHaven, whose creative relationship spans more than 20 years and has continued to evolve since their days in indie-folk band Paper Bird.
The EP’s first single, “The One You Use,” offers a playful, soulful introduction to the new collection. Recorded at The Library in Minneapolis and produced and mixed by Dan Rodriguez, the EP also features a special guest vocal appearance by Gregory Alan Isakov.
“The One You Use” blends warm harmonies, rootsy guitar and a relaxed Americana groove, with lyrical nods to Robert Johnson, Bob Wills and The Rolling Stones. The track captures Heavy Diamond Ring’s signature combination of heart-opening songwriting, thoughtful arrangements, powerful musicianship and rich vocal harmony.
Anderson and DeHaven first began making music together in 2004, eventually spending 11 years in Paper Bird before forming Heavy Diamond Ring immediately following the band’s breakup. Now, eight years into Heavy Diamond Ring, the five-piece has developed a sound that is both intimate and expansive and harmonious, approachable and honest, with an unorthodox approach to folk-rock that draws from Americana, roots and rock.
At the heart of the band is a deep friendship and genuine sense of family. Even after more than two decades of making music together, Anderson and DeHaven remain excited about where the music can go next.
“We’re a family,” the band says. “We genuinely love and respect each other, and that’s what keeps us glued together and continuing to make music together after all these years.”
That chemistry is especially evident onstage. Heavy Diamond Ring’s live show can move quickly from heart-wrenching beauty and intimacy to Sarah’s legendary unhinged banter, creating a contagious sense of community between the band and audience. The group’s sets are dynamic, unpredictable and always satisfied.
“We feel like we’re continuing to evolve as a band, and we just keep getting better with time,” says the group. “There’s a lot of history between us, but we’re not stuck in the past—we’re still excited about where the music can go and what we can discover together.”
The full-band lineup includes Blake Stepan (bass), Orion Tate Ignelzi (drums) and Mike Lang (keys), rounding out the chemistry between Anderson and DeHaven. Together, they create what has been described as “open-road, long drive music,” with “a little bit of twang, and a whole lot of beef.”
