Alt-country rockers YARN release their soulful new album ‘Saturday Night Sermon’

Today, YARN releases their new studio album, Saturday Night Sermon, via 333 Entertainment. Saturday Night Sermon lives up to its name, with songwriter Blake Christiana and the band adding a dash of soul to their guitar-driven, Southern rock sound with a horn section, organ and a gospel choir. Opening with the title track, Saturday Night Sermon invites the listener to join in, delivering the kind of truth-telling, soul-shaking songwriting that turns a simple night out into something spiritual. The album finds the band capturing the intensity of their live performances with memorable choruses and a nod to classic rock radio.

As on their last album Born, Blessed, Grateful & Alive, YARN embraced the hear and now and enjoying this one life we're given. Saturday Night Sermon continues this mindset but takes us to church with a celebratory batch of songs that are determined to uplift. Recorded more or less live to tape, there's an immediacy to the recordings delivered with the confidence of a band that knows they can deliver the goods live.

From the singalong encouragement of "Let The Universe" to the heartfelt ballad "Where We Land," the collection navigates gratitude, love, and the human condition, culminating in the reflective, comforting "A Welcome New Home." Rock-tinged tracks like "Longshot," "Might As Well Be King" and "Never Enough" add edge and contrast while "Good Things," the radio single, "turns up the soul" (Jambase).

“The band has officially found something really special over the past couple of years," Christiana says. "It feels like we are finally the live band and album-producing band we always set out to be, and the message we are aiming to deliver has also found its foothold.”
