Grateful Dead Radio Hour host, book author, and musician David Gans returns to Las Vegas for a dinner show at Soulbelly BBQ on Main Street in the Arts District on Friday, July 10, from 6-9 p.m.
The Las Vegas Jam Band Society has arranged for a very special evening of dining and music featuring David Gans with local Las Vegas jam band Rainin’ Moonshine backing him up.
Accommodating about 50 diners seated in the live music area, Soulbelly BBQ is the perfect venue to host an intimate dinner for a large group of friends. And friends they are all. David Gans has a long history of coming through Las Vegas and connecting with the Jam Band Society, first doing house concerts in living rooms and backyards, then selling out brunches at the Tuscany during the Dead & Company residency.
Local outfit Rainin’ Moonshine, and hopefully a few sit-in surprises, will back David up for sets two and three. Rainin’ Moonshine, made up of local Clark County residents Michael Schneider, Roger Rennels, Daniel Glynn, Jason Emett, and Richard Wells, has well over 100 years of collective experience playing music. While this group is only a few years old, they play together like old mates.
David will play a solo set and then two band sets.
Best known as radio host of The Grateful Dead Hour, the nationally syndicated radio show for almost 40 years — the first show was in 1988 — David still hosts the weekly program in addition to co-hosting a weekly Grateful Dead-themed call-in show, Tales From The Golden Road, on the SiriusXM Grateful Dead Channel with Gary Lambert.
Equally renowned for his writing, David is an accomplished author of books about the Grateful Dead, in addition to countless collaborations and contributions to others’ works.
David is also known for his music, playing both interpretations of Grateful Dead songs and self-written compositions. David loves to play music, and it shows in his weekly solo livestreams from his living room in the SF Bay Area to his many live concerts played with a myriad of friends and musicians from all over the country.
