Dynamic Colorado-based guitarist and bandleader DJ Williams returns with a scorching new song, “Whipper Snapper.” The tune is the third single off of his forthcoming studio project Soldier of Love, scheduled for release on June 29th. Produced by burgeoning producer and label head Jay.Greens and co-producer/bassist Josh Fairman, the toe-tapping song also features Isaac Teel (drums - TAUK), Ian Gilley (keys - Recess), Eric Benny Bloom (trumpet - Lettuce), and Nate Miller (saxophone). Together, the all-star cast of performers present a catchy, incendiary musical framework that bolsters Williams’ soaring falsetto and prodigious guitar work.
“Whipper Snapper captures the high-voltage electricity that gets us on our feet when we lay our eyes on the object of our affection,” said Williams. “The amazing musicians on the track did an incredible job of capturing the power of that feeling.”
“Whipper Snapper” is Williams’ third single release this spring, and is a fitting companion piece to the ethereal single “Soldier of Love,”, and the gritty leading single “Black Man.”. He is also in the midst of an extensive spring tour, one that has carried him through several premier markets including Asheville, Atlanta, Charleston, and Denver, with remaining performances in NYC (6/14 - supporting comedian Hannibal Burress), and Washington, D.C (6/17-18).
To celebrate the release, Williams released a cheeky, self-produced music video that has already amassed over 20,000 views and is running a giveaway contest through Friday, June 16th on his socials (links below).
