The 33rd Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is set to transform the Trumansburg Fairgrounds into a four-day celebration of art, community, and global sound next weekend, July 17–20, 2025. Hosted once again by Americana mainstays Donna the Buffalo, the genre-spanning gathering welcomes more than 90 acts across four stages, with newly announced campsite availability and open volunteer enrollment rounding out the final countdown to the festival’s return.
This year’s lineup showcases country-soul star Lukas Nelson, indie-pop luminaries Lucius, Havana’s Grammy-nominated Afro-funk powerhouse Cimafunk, two-time Grammy nominee and bluegrass virtuoso Sierra Hull, Côte d’Ivoire’s electrifying vocalist Dobet Gnahoré, Malian guitar trailblazer Vieux Farka Touré, and high-energy Irish family ensemble The Byrne Brothers. They join a bill that also features Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band, The Steel Wheels, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars frontman Reuben Koroma with Maddy Walsh & the Blind Spots, and dozens more artists representing folk, funk, blues, Latin, jam, reggae, roots, and beyond.
Culture Camp: July 13–16
The festivities begin four days earlier with the eighth annual GrassRoots Culture Camp, where festival-goers can deepen their musical connection through workshops led by performing artists, afternoon jams, and nightly themed dinners and dances.
Volunteer & Immerse
More than 1,300 volunteers power GrassRoots each summer, and opportunities remain for those eager to lend a hand before, during, or after the event. In exchange for a shift commitment, volunteers receive either a four-day festival pass or a single-day ticket, along with an insider’s look at the collaboration that fuels the GrassRoots experience.
Campsites & Tickets
A limited release of additional campsites has just been made available. Festival passes, camping, volunteer registration, and Culture Camp packages are on sale now at GrassRootsFest.org. With on-site infrastructure ready, the Dance Tent raised, and price tiers already in their post-May 1 phase, organizers encourage attendees to secure accommodations swiftly.
Celebrating 33 years of musical exploration and community spirit, the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival continues to honor its founding mission: to create a welcoming space where music lovers come together, share culture, and dance from morning till sunrise.
