The founders of Hangtown Music Festival and Marco’s Cafe proudly announce an exemplary new lineup for The Golden Road Gathering at El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, CA, May 14th-16th 2023.
Leading this stellar roster addition is the dynamic “swamptronica” duo Dirtwire who bring a unique blend of world music to their captivating stage show. Vancouver-based rockers Five Alarm Funk will also join the bill with their horn and percussion fueled presence. A spectrum of up-and-coming acts such as Boston soul powerhouse Couch, Eugene jam act Spunj, Boot Juice, Island of Black and White, Ten Foot Tiger, and Watkins Glen will also provide performances.
The three day camping festival will also feature headlining sets from iconic Talking Heads musicians Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew performing the entirety of Remain in Light alongside Cool, Cool, Cool (featuring former members of Turkuaz), and acclaimed regional act The California Honeydrops known best for their signature horn-driven funk and soul. Spanning three stages, the nonstop musical marathon includes additional performers - The Floozies, March Fourth, Orgone, Late Night Radio, and more, with additional talent to be announced on February 1st.
The Golden Road Gathering will also host local vendors, brewers and food trucks that offer entertainment for all ages as well as a special kids corner for younger visitors.
Ticket packages are now available online with options including weekend passes, single day tickets and RV camping. VIP “Golden Ticket Experience” package includes expedited early check in; reserved parking and camping areas; main stage pit access; onsite lounge with seating, picnic tables, stage views and private bathroom and bar; drink tickets; and an event t-shirt. All camping packages include access to indoor late-night sets featuring a curated selection of bands and electronic artists.
“This is going to be one for the books,” said founder Ryan Kronenberg. “We are taking what we have learned over the last twelve years with Hangtown Music Festival and applying it to this new festival with a unique spin.”
