Grahame Lesh Launches Terrapin Roadshow Summer 2026

The traveling concert series launches May 30–31 in Monte Rio, CA and anchors a summer of performances spanning Grahame Lesh & Friends, Midnight North, Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration, and more

Marin County guitarist, singer-songwriter, bandleader, and curator Grahame Lesh will launch a busy summer 2026 touring season with the return of the Terrapin Roadshow, the traveling concert series inspired by the spirit and community of the beloved Terrapin Crossroads venue. Kicking off at the Monte Rio Amphitheater on May 30 and 31, the Roadshow serves as both a continuation of the musical tradition fostered by the Lesh family and a gathering place for fans, friends, and collaborators across the broader Grateful Dead universe.

The Terrapin Roadshow carries forward the sense of exploration, spontaneity, and connection that defined Terrapin Crossroads, transforming intimate outdoor amphitheaters into temporary homes for this music and the community surrounding it. The 2026 edition will travel through Northern California, Oregon, and Colorado with multi-night stops in Monte Rio, San Rafael, Grants Pass, Truckee, and Glenwood Springs.

Featuring rotating ensembles and special guests throughout the summer, this year’s Roadshow lineups include appearances from Jackie Greene, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Elliott Peck, Amy Helm, Scott Law, Bill Nershi, Stu Allen, Nicki Bluhm, Kanika Moore, Holly Bowling, Midnight North, AJ Lee & Blue Summit, and more. Additionally, Little Feat founding member Bill Payne will join the Glenwood Springs stop on August 23 as a special guest.

“My parents often described Grateful Dead as a grandfather oak tree,” shares Lesh. “The roots reach deep into the broader currents of American music and global traditions, spanning blues, jazz, gospel, bluegrass, avant-garde classical, and beyond. The trunk is the band itself, lifting and shaping that material, and the branches and leaves are all the musicians and bands who continue to be inspired by it, myself included. Bob Weir has spoken about the three-hundred-year legacy of this music, and for me, the Terrapin Roadshow and all of my projects sit within that same framework, grounded in Grateful Dead’s songbook. I hope to see this music continue as extensions of that tree, growing and evolving with each new generation for decades to come.”

Lesh is currently in the midst of an especially prolific creative period, performing with a wide range of projects including Grahame Lesh & Friends, Midnight North, Terrapin Family Band, and more. His recent performances have reflected an ongoing passion for exploring lesser-known corners of the extended Grateful Dead songbook and musical lineage.

During a spring run of Grahame Lesh & Friends performances, the group debuted two new songs connected to his family’s musical history. “Shaman’s Song,” co-written by Grahame, his father Phil Lesh, and his brother Brian Lesh, was recently introduced live alongside “Mountain’s Other Side,” a composition written by Grahame Lesh & Friends keyboard player Damian Calcagne based on the PERRO fragment “Leather Winged Bat” from Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady.

Lesh has also revived the long-dormant Grateful Dead composition “Equinox,” originally written by Phil Lesh in the 1970s for Jerry Garcia to sing on Terrapin Station but never officially performed live by the Grateful Dead.

Alongside upcoming performances with Grahame Lesh & Friends, Midnight North, Terrapin Family Band, and the Terrapin Roadshow, Lesh will perform a three-night run as the Grahame Lesh & Daniel Donato Duo at the Bearsville Theater, appear as a trio with Warren Haynes and Daniel Donato at the Hudson River Music Festival, and perform several dates of Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration, with additional performances and collaborations to be announced.
