IBMA Entertainer Of The Year Nominees East Nash Grass Release All God’s Children LP

A fresh album featuring five new originals, two deep-cut covers, two tunes from friends, and a string-band reimagining of a traditional Liberian chant? That’s par for the course for one of the most talked about bands on the scene, East Nash Grass. A worldly blend of spirituality, connectedness, and world-class picking makes up the lauded quintet’s latest LP, All God’s Children—out now on Mountain Fever Records. And while the ten-song collection isn’t a gospel album, despite where its title may lead, it’s not exactly not a spiritual album, either. The Bluegrass Situation called All God’s Children “a joyful tribute to the many ways life gets good,” and that’s more akin to the worldly vibe intended by its writers and performers—Harry Clark (mandolin), Cory Walker (banjo), James Kee (guitar), Maddie Denton (fiddle), and Jeff Partin’s (bass/dobro). What one can be sure of, though, is that the album is full of world-class musicianship and mind-bending picking and singing, which Whiskey Riff calls “one of the best bluegrass albums we’ve heard in a while.”

On top of the release of All God’s Children already-IBMA-Award-winning East Nash Grass are up for three more nominations this year: IBMA’s Entertainer of the Year and Instrumental Group of the Year for the whole band, as well as Denton’s nomination for Fiddle Player of the Year. A fitting nod to the band Rolling Stone just called “a rapidly-rising force on the national touring scene.” East Nash Grass just announced a Fall co-headlining tour with AJ Lee & Blue Summit beginning November 6 in Charlotte, NC. The band next hits the stage tonight, August 22nd, in Mountain View, AR. A full list of tour dates can be found below or at eastnashgrass.com/tour.
