Brooklyn-based, Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter, Leslie Mendelson has shared "The Good Life," the second single to be released in advance of her fourth, full-length studio album, After The Party, due June 21 via Pasadena Records/Royal Potato Family. The song is built upon a lilting country-folk gait with a lyric that promises better days ahead: "When the world turns upside down, Inside out, Makes you crazy, But don’t worry baby, Everything will be alright, And if I ever had the chance, To do it all again I wouldn’t change it, So pour me a drink pass me a light, Here’s to the good life." Alongside Leslie and her longtime songwriting partner Steve McEwan on vocals and guitar, the track features guitarist Waddy Wachtel, bassist Derrick Anderson and drummer Jim Keltner.

"I'm a big fan of Glen Campbell and ’70s country music,” Mendelson told Atwood Magazine for the song's premiere. "This one feels like it’s right out of that era with its lyrics and groove. I love playing and singing it. I can almost imagine myself on the set of the shows from that time, like The Johnny Cash Show or Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour."

After the Party was produced by the legendary Peter Asher (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt), the young and in-demand, Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham, Sara Bareilles), and Steve McEwan (Chris Stapleton, Jon Batiste). It was recorded at Jackson Browne’s studio, Grove Masters in Santa Monica, CA. The release of "The Good Life" follows the album's debut single and accompanying video, "Other Girls." Having won the hearts and minds of both an adoring fanbase and fellow artists alike, no less than Jackson Browne has declared, “Leslie’s melodies are timeless. They reach me way back in my youth somewhere. I hear traces of Burt Bacharach and Carole King, and hooks and passages that remind me of pop songs I grew up hearing on the radio,” while The Wallflowers' frontman Jakob Dylan shares: "Voices like Leslie’s can get away with almost anything. Along with being a great songwriter, this leaves her with few if any peers."

After the Party is available June 21, 2024 via Pasadena Records and Royal Potato Family.
