Psychedelic funk mainstays Pigeons Playing Ping Pong release Live In Florida, Man today, an 18-track live compilation drawn from three nights across Florida in March 2026. The collection captures the band at Intuition Ale Works in Jacksonville on March 5, Tuffy’s in Sanford on March 6, and Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on March 7, 2026. The record is available now on digital streaming platforms.
Across the collection, the band moves between new material and longtime favorites, including “Porcupine,” “Upfunk,” “Poseidon” and “High Wire,” with two-part excursions through “Ocean Flows” and “Skipjack.” The performances also turn familiar songs into full-band explorations: The Police’s “Walking on the Moon,” The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” and Elton John’s “Rocket Man.”

Maybe it was the palm trees, the electric crowds, sharing the stage with one of our biggest influences, Lotus, or all of the above. Whatever lit the fuse, these performances were pure fire. One of the collection’s centerpiece reimaginings is “Rocket Man,” which stretches Elton John’s classic through reggae grooves, psychedelic guitar and the band’s dynamic, dance-forward approach.

Even with a timeless classic like ‘Rocket Man,’ we wanted to reimagine it through the Pigeons lens, blending psychedelic funk, reggae grooves, and soaring dynamics into something that feels both fresh and familiar. Based in Baltimore, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have spent nearly two decades building a national following through adventurous improvisation and funk built for the dance floor. The band features Greg Ormont (vocals, guitar), Jeremy Schon (guitar, vocals), Ben Carrey (bass, vocals), Alex Petropulos (drums, vocals) and newest member Jon Brady (keys, vocals). Their eighth studio album, Feed The Fire, arrived in October 2025, while their annual festival, Domefest, brings The Flock together to celebrate the community around the band.
