Baltimore's favorite groove masters, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, are set to unveil their latest studio single, "Alright Tonight." This fresh track is a unique gem in the band's repertoire, with less than a dozen live performances to its name. The release comes just ahead of the group's eagerly awaited performance at the Suwannee Hulaween Music Festival in Live Oak, FL and their extensive fall tour.

In a departure from their trademark high-energy funk, "Alright Tonight" offers a different sonic landscape. It opens with a mellow, repetitive guitar motif that gradually morphs into a cascade of gleaming chords. The crescendo peaks in a bold guitar jam, featuring a standout solo by Greg Ormont. On the lyrical front, "Alright Tonight" delves deep into introspection and inquiry, exploring the universal human quest for contentment.

“We had just finished playing a different song at band practice when I started singing the initial guitar line, which I then played. Gator joined with a slick drum groove, then Jeremy and Ben developed a unique chord progression that wrapped perfectly around the melody, and my vocals started flowing. From there, we put our minds on it and fleshed it out pretty quickly,” explains “Scrambled Greg” Ormont (lead vocals, rhythm guitar). “We always listen back later to fine tune and add more parts where appropriate, but the initial genesis of this song was really organic, which is always a great sign,” he added.

Ormont also discusses a personal milestone, “This song also features my first guitar solo in the studio, which was a fun challenge to embrace.”

Fans can catch “Alright Tonight” live this fall, as PPPP prepares to embark on a huge fall tour that traverses the continental United States.
