Mimicking Birds -- the Portland, OR-based group of songwriter Nate Lacy (guitar/vocals), Aaron Hanson (drums), and Adam Trachsel (bass, synth) -- today shared "Belongings," the third single off their forthcoming album Layers Of Us out January 26th (Glacial Pace Recordings). Lacy describes the new single as "a love song conveyed through the perspective that we are all here functioning as part of a larger entity. Unrivaled in their blend of American soul, blues, rock and country, the 12-member Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by the husband and wife team of guitarist Derek Trucks and vocalist/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, offers a one-of-a-kind musical experience. This year, the Wheels of Soul tour will feature two highly acclaimed special guests Drive-By Truckers and opener The Marcus King Band.
In anticipation of the impending release of their 25th studio album, Living the Dream, classic rock icons URIAH HEEP will embark on a North American tour in early 2018. Superstar songwriters Rafe Van Hoy, Marla Cannon-Goodman, Dale Dodson, Waylon Payne, Don Sampson and Ronnie Bowman will pay tribute to Hank Cochran and Red Lane at 3rd & Lindsley (816 3rd Ave. South) on Wednesday, January 17 to benefit The Hank Cochran Pen Fund. Tickets are $10; doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. The 501(c)(3) charity focuses its efforts on financially assisting songwriters with cancer.
