On November 30, 2018, the Kansas City Chiefs released Pro Bowl running back, Kareem Hunt, based on videos that had emerged of Hunt pushing, shoving, and eventually kicking a woman who had fallen to the floor of a Cleveland hotel. At this point, you know the story. It’s possible your fantasy lineup was blown up that day much in the manner that KC’s Super Bowl chances went down the proverbial drain. Releasing Hunt was the right thing to do and the Chiefs wasted little time.

It’s not often that venerable guitarist, composer, and bandleader Steve Kimock appeases his hugely loyal fanbase by giving into song requests. Not that Steve overlooks the folks who’ve gone to every damn show since the days of his heralded archetypal band Zero, but for the veteran artist, music is ever-evolving and never about looking backward or forwards.
ALO’s lucky 13th annual Tour d’Amour included a stop in Chico, Calif., in which the band offered an exhilarating illustration of its intelligent, crafty songs, and its extraordinary aptitude toward innovative improvisational instrumentation. “To surround Valentine’s Day, the tour is a celebration of LOVE – musically, communally, and in all of its many forms,” a recent band statement proclaimed.

Singer-songwriter Daniel Rodriguez releases of his debut collection of music as a solo artist on a five-song EP titled, Your Heart The Stars The Milky Way. Rodriguez speaks of these new songs being his emotional response to the end of a 14-year relationship with a bandmate in Elephant Revival, a transcendental folk band who 5280 Magazine describes as “a pioneer and mainstay of the Colorado music scene” and who has since announced its hiatus.
The Outfield was one of the biggest bands of the 1980s, playing to sold-out arenas. The group's music continues to be well known to most any young dance club regulars, with hits like “Your Love” standing the test of time into the new millennium. The lead singer and guitarist of the band, Tony Lewis released his first solo album last summer, “Out of The Darkness.” The album comes five years after the untimely death of fellow Outfield founder John Spinks and is a very personal return to music for Lewis.
