The Dance Party Time Machine is back at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on Friday 12/11.   This year features Marc Brownstein, Aron Magner, Allen Aucoin, of The Disco Biscuits, Jeremy Salken of Big Gigantic and Eddie Roberts from The New Mastersounds along with over 30 of CO's finest musicians ft members of YAMN, Fox Street, The Congress, Analog Son, Tiger Party, The Magic Beans and more.... "  then whatever kind words you might have about the show.

Returning to Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Greensky Bluegrass plays its first headlining show at the legendary venue Saturday, July 23 with support from Leftover Salmon. Fans will also be treated to an intimate pre-party performance the night before at the Boulder Theater, with entrance to this show exclusively available to purchasers of a two-day ticket. 

MerleFest, presented by Window World and slated for April 28-May 1, 2016, is proud to announce additions to the 2016 lineup: Old Crow Medicine Show, Alison Brown, Peter Rowan and Doug Seegers. The four-day event, the largest roots and Americana music festival in the nation, takes place on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in the heart of Appalachia. MerleFest continues the legacy of Doc Watson and is a benefit for the college.

Perpetual Groove is back. Playing in Denver for the first time since February of 2012, they settled into their two-night run at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on Friday with a show that stretched into the wee hours of Saturday morning. The four piece trance rock outfit is riding high with their return to the stage after a two year hiatus; rejuvenated after a collision course of self-discovery and introspective exploration.

In the month of October in Denver, we were lucky enough to have a creative troupe with a mission to blend beautiful music with advanced technology, production, and art, and turn it into a modern day rock opera called The Portal. It seemed like Burning Man’s version of the Wall by Pink Floyd. It is a dark, but light tale of a man’s journey through his soul.

On December 4, 1965, Jerry, Bob, Phil, Bill, and Pigpen first convened as the Grateful Dead to play as the house band for Ken Kesey and the Prankster's Acid Test in San Jose, California. The Dead went on to break records, bend minds, and build a community that continues to carry the torch today. Happy 50th Anniversary, Grateful Dead!

In the beginning days of Yonder Mountain String Band, dedicated fans helped support the emerging group by recording their shows and following Yonder on the road. Free archives of YMSB's live performances quickly spread like wild fire to music fans across the country, and what began with only a few individuals manifested into a community known at the Kinfolk. To this day, many Kinfolk still follow the band for strings of tour dates at a time.

Native Northern California musical gem Jackie Greene returned to another north state jewel, the classy stage of the Sierra Nevada Brewery Big Room in Chico for two sold-out shows on November 17 and 18 (this piece - photos and words - are about the 18th).

“Peace, Love, and Transcendental Folk” is what comes to mind as Dango Rose from Elephant Revival explains his band’s earthy roots and spiritual aspirations.  In light of the recent tragedy in their home state of Colorado, we talk about how music is just a small part of efforts to dissolve the fear and hate that sometimes fuel those who choose violence.  Local Colorado fans are excited to come together for the band’s two homecoming shows this weekend.
