Acclaimed bluegrass stalwarts YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND have collected their favorite jams from the Spring Tour 2018 and have made seven tracks available for free via Soundcloud starting this past Friday, April 20. The songs include stretched-out originals and covers of the Grateful Dead ("Fire On The Mountain"), Talking Heads ("Girlfriend Is Better") and Del McCoury ("All Aboard").

The ninth annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival will take place at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center from May 25-27, 2018. To celebrate, California Roots is bringing back a second volume of their popular vinyl release series begun in 2017. The limited edition vinyl album has a unique splatter design, mixing four colors and housed in a gatefold jacket spread. The album features songs from artists on this year’s line-up, including an exclusive unreleased song from Slightly Stoopid.

Fans of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame group THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND will be excited to hear Peach Picks: Cream Of The Crop 2003, a collection of the best performances culled from six shows in July and August 2003. Set for release May 16 via the band's Peach Records (Orchard distribution), the collection includes 36 tracks recorded between July 25 and August 10, 2003 in Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Darien Center, NY, Hartford, Charlotte and Raleigh, with no song repeated.

The second day of Coachella 2018 began much more pleasant and organized than the first. An armada of buses awaited festival goers at each of the myriad bus stops in contrast to a shortage of transportation the first day. A small of army of security personnel sorted through the personal belongings of the masses efficiently, getting people through the gates as quickly as possible.

Georgia-based Americana/indie rocker Tedo Stone has announced the release of his third full-length LP Summer Sun and has shared the lead single at PopMatters, who praised the song as "a sunbathed, nostalgic, and folkish rock sound evocative of acts like Okkervil River or Neutral Milk Hotel." Stone has also announced two sets at the 2018 Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta, Ga.--May 3rd supporting the Whigs at Terminal West for the festival's kickoff party, and May 6th on the festival grounds proper.

Paul Rodgers is returning to where it all began, by celebrating the 50th anniversary of Free. Fans fortunate enough to get a ticket to the sold-out performance at London's Royal Albert Hall witnessed a truly unique event. On June 22, 2018, fans worldwide will be able to experience the magic, captured for a live recording, set to be released by Quarto Valley Records.

The first day of Coachella 2018 began as a frustrating experience for many. The biggest Coachella ever suffered from growing pains that taxed every corner of the infrastructure. Hour-long lines greeted people at will call. Another 90-minute wait to get on the shuttle followed. Then a 30 plus minute trek through security before finally entering the massively expanded festival grounds. Once inside there were long lines for bathrooms, food, drinks and even identification checks to buy drinks.
