Elephant Revival

A haunting sound, at once evocative and mysterious, ushers in Petals, the latest album by Elephant Revival. Notes rise and suffuse the silence; are joined by a deep bass drone, a quiet pulse of cello and a percussive tick: daybreak made music.

WinterWonderGrass Festival, and Elephant Revival are teaming up with the Caravan Outpost to produce Caravan to WonderGrass—a unique one-day gathering for the whole family. Taking place in beautiful Ojai, California on Saturday, November 18th, Caravan to WonderGrass promises a simple, sustainable and inspired gathering of music, arts and community with an emphasis on supporting local artisans.

The little festival that could, Rhythms on the Rio 2017, did it once again, bringing a stellar lineup and unmatched Colorado hospitality to a welcoming festival audience. This year’s fest started out overcast and chilly (we are in monsoon season, after all), with the promise of rain. But none of that dampened anyone’s spirits.

Music on the Mesa Festival launched its third year on a hot day in El Prado NM, just north of Taos, at the Taos Mesa Brewery. Under clouds that gifted rain later in the day at a very opportune time, music lovers came early, swelling crowds to capacity every single night of the fest.

On this opening Friday, June 2, festivalgoers were treated to NM singer/songwriter Ry Taylor on the large earthen amphitheater and the California-based Sweetwater String Band on the patio stage.

On a daunting overcast day at one of the nation’s most beautiful venues, nothing could put a cloud on the positivity that radiates from all angles of the band that calls themselves Elephant Revival. And in true form, they invited many friends as guests to play along with them on this evening at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The stage was ornate, and had evidence of aerial cloths and a drum circle formed in the top middle of the stage.

As Elephant Revival gears up for their upcoming show at Red Rocks, they have decided to release their cover of Jefferson Airplane’s classic, "White Rabbit”. The psychedelic tune is perfectly suited by Bonnie Paine's signature vibrato as the rest of the band trades in their acoustic instruments for ones accompanied by electric distortion effects.

Elephant Revival's performance of "Hello You Who" at Red Rocks perfectly captures Bonnie Paine's haunting vocals and intimacy with her cello, intertwined with scenes of intricate acrobatic performances by Colorado-based theatrical circus group Fractal Tribe.

VuHaus, non-profit music video aggregator and music discovery platform, premiered Elephant Revival's 2016 Red Rocks performance of "The Garden" in the launch of their VuHaus Colorado page, two weeks ago. "The Garden" was also featured as the VuHaus Song of the Day, last Tuesday, March 14th. See the video on VuHaus here.
