Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion turns the volume all the way up this year, welcoming a powerhouse slate of artists who embody the festival’s spirit of boundary-free Americana.

Returning after a six-year hiatus, Steep Canyon Rangers headline with the masterful bluegrass-Americana blend that earned them a Grammy and a place among the most influential songwriters in roots music today. Their Appalachian–Piedmont pedigree meets modern storytelling in a set primed to remind fans why the Rangers remain bluegrass royalty.

Festival crowds can also brace for lift-off when Maryland’s Pigeons Playing Ping Pong unleash their explosively funky, psychedelic grooves. Renowned for marathon live shows and infectious on-stage chemistry, the quartet turns every performance into a full-tilt celebration—“seizing the moment” never sounded so electric.

On the cutting edge of the jamgrass renaissance, Birmingham’s Mountain Grass Unit delivers a high-octane fusion of country, jazz, funk, rock, and even metal. Still in their early twenties, the four-piece charges into Bristol on the heels of their 2024 debut EP Runnin’ From Trouble, proving tradition thrives when young firebrands dare to rewrite it.

Singer-songwriter Kaitlin Butts makes her festival debut armed with Roadrunner!, a 17-track opus that pairs her fierce outlaw swagger with Broadway-sized storytelling. Expect razor-sharp lyrics, powerhouse vocals, and a stage presence as bold as the Oklahoma skies that shaped her artistry.

Another first-timer to the Bristol stage, Ashley Monroe brings the luminous voice that garnered solo acclaim, Pistol Annies stardom, and multiple Grammy nominations. From heartfelt ballads to country-soul showstoppers, Monroe promises a set as vulnerable as it is breathtaking.

Rounding out the roster, Pacific-Northwest favorites Fruition return with harmony-rich Americana drawn from their acclaimed new album How To Make Mistakes. Fifteen years of road-tested camaraderie have only sharpened their songwriting and stacked vocal blend, guaranteeing a joyous homecoming for longtime Bristol fans.
