Allman Brothers Band

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, after 45 years of performing the greatest live music in rock history, the Allman Brothers Band had arrived at its final concert. The dream created by Duane Allman in 1969 had come to fruition, gone through triumph and tragedy, joy and sorrow, flourished and faltered, and ultimately persevered to reach the pinnacle of the blues/rock genre. The road had seemingly gone on forever, but, in 2014, the group decided that forever would come to an end at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

The life and legacy of the legendary Gregg Allman is celebrated with Gregg Allman Band – Uncle Sam’s, a full-length concert recording marking the inaugural release from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s personal archives on his posthumous label, Sawrite Records. Recorded July 1, 1983 at Uncle Sam’s in Hull, MA, the full-length concert performance captures the Gregg Allman Band as they launched what proved a chart-topping solo career for Allman.

Founding Allman Brothers Band drummer Jaimoe will join Friends of the Brothers for a series of shows this summer after his triumphant return to the stage with them April 27 at the SHU Community Theater in Fairfield Connecticut on April 27. That was Jaimoe’s first on-stage appearance since January 2023. Jaimoe is the last surviving original member of the Allman Brothers Band following Dickey Betts’ April 18 death,
