Finally, live music is back throughout southern California venues. Alt-Pop singer-songwriter CLO was at the forefront of fresh new live performances, making her post quarantine debut at Federal Noho in North Hollywood. The restaurant and live music venue had been bringing top live entertainment to the working-class side of Hollywood, more known for its film production houses than its nightlife scene, for more than a decade.

The iconic funk band Kool & the Gang will release their new album, Perfect Union, August 20, 2021 on Omnivore Recordings through its Ru-Jac Records imprint — the first new recording on the historic R&B label.

After a few years of hiatus BeeJeeCo’s “Dog Days of Summer Bluegrass” series returns to Denver.  The series focuses on bluegrass collaborations from some of Colorado and the front range’s most talented bluegrass acts.

One of the tents disappeared but the heap of trash maintained by aggressive vagrants keeps growing. I avoid that area entirely. It used to be a normal route on my runs, but it’s too frightening now. Light in the Attic Records proudly announces the next installment of their ongoing and widely acclaimed Country Funk compilation series: Various Artists - Country Funk Volume III (1975-1982). Previous releases in the series mined the swampy, fertile grounds of the late 1960s and early 1970s, but this time around, the compilation stretches into the 1970s and 1980s where the jeans are tighter, the hair is bigger and the disco ball spins along to a country-synth beat.

Legendary and eternally hipster U.K. band Squeeze (whose founding members Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook have been compared to the likes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney as songwriters and performers), are set to begin the U.S. leg of  their 24-date Nomadband tour on August 1st . The group’s headlining schedule will be interspersed with 18 support dates for Daryl Hall & John Oates and will continue throughout the summer into early fall 2021.

Today, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum announced that Country Music Hall of Fame member Roy Acuff’s cherished fiddle has been added to the museum’s permanent collection. On view to the public today—just in time to celebrate our nation’s independence—Acuff’s fiddle debuts in a spotlight exhibit in the museum’s upper-level galleries.

Colorado roots-rock-americana artist Erik Lunde is teasing his upcoming album Water From The Stone with the release of the lead single “Long Time Overdue” on July 16th. A song of many layers, “Long time Overdue” pays tribute to the Colorado “band of brothers” that helped Lunde create this album, speaks to the truth of the creative process behind Water From The Stone, and touches on the feeling of longing that many people experienced during the pandemic.
