Finger Picking Good on the farm last night! Charlie Parr made is inaugural appearance at Ravensdale Farm to a very enthusiastic sold out socially distanced crowd. When you combine authenticity, sincerity and imagination I think that best describes Charlie. Then you throw in the fact that he can flat out pick and play slide guitar along with it and that is when the magic happens.

Rockfield: Studio on the Farm is the story of the first residential recording studio told through 40+ years of behind-the-scenes archival footage of sessions for some of the greatest rock bands in history. Directed by Hannah Berryman, the film features Black Sabbath, Oasis, Queen, Stone Roses, Robert Plant, The Charlatans, Boo Radleys, Simple Minds, Chris Martin and many more.

Alternative rock fans can rejoice with the return of live music to the Ventura Fairgrounds. The exceptional event, courtesy of the Concert In Your Car series that features drive-in live music performances, features an impressive roster of Alt-rock performers.

Asheville-based, Lua Flora’s newest single, “Little Butterfly” fuses acoustic folk, with the laid-back rhythms of reggae & world music. Featuring Richard Vagner (Jaden Smith, SOJA, Trevor Hall), the song is beautifully introduced with a full string arrangement, and a subtle choir following later in the song.

Ember Days (2021) is the latest CD release from Carl Weingarten. Much of the music was produced during the Covid shut-in, during which Carl performed and recorded nearly all the instruments. The CD contains 10 new instrumentals that range from the smoky jazz club mood of Geola, to the rock-fusion guitars of 'Goodbye Sun,' to the elegant choral inspired title track, all composed around Carl’s signature guitar sound.

Jon Byrd plays “what they used to call Country Music.” Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he grew up in the piney woods of south Alabama before becoming pivotal in Atlanta’s storied Redneck Underground music scene.  He was always a featured sideman, but his first solo recording (Byrd’s Auto Parts 2007) didn’t happen until after he moved to Music City nearly 20 years ago.
