It’s finally that time of the year. The tenth anniversary of the biggest reggae festival in America, California Roots Music and Arts Festival is upon us, and Cali Roots X promises to be the biggest installment yet. What started a decade ago as an intimate, one-day get together in Monterey has evolved into a movement unlike anything else in the world.
For the past 10 years, the California Roots Music and Arts Festival has delivered top tier reggae and roots music to thousands of fans to showcase music, community, and culture in Monterey, California. The event has garnered critical acclaim and coverage from national media outlets including Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Billboard, Pollstar, and Pitchfork.
The 10th annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival has announced their second round of artists. Joining an already impressive lineup are scene favorites Rebelution, Dirty Heads, Pepper, Collie Buddz, The Green, and Alborosie. Making their debuts at the event are Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, UB40 feat. Ali & Astro, Kabaka Pyramid, The Elovaters, and Roots of a Rebellion. Also a special Matisyahu set performing the set list from his classic Live at Stubbs album rounds out the announcement.

Once a blues festival closing off the famed Beale Street, Beale Street Music Festival has outgrown its downtown setting and and for the past few years located on the banks of the Mississippi River. Now ranked in Fest300's list of the worlds best festivals, the live music is diverse and the best bang for your buck in the midwest, if not the country.
Despite the extreme heat and an early weather evacuation Friday, Forecastle Festival 2016 was a success. Clouds rolled in around 4:00PM on Friday afternoon and evacuated the festival grounds. Fans took shelter and waited for a storm that never fully developed. Luckily the schedule was adjusted and there were no cancelations.
Quickly becoming one of the most anticipated music festivals in the nation, The Forecastle Festival is back for another big year with headlining acts The Avett Brothers, Alabama Shakes, and Death Cab for Cutie down on the waterfront in Louisville, Kentucky on July 15-17. Other promising performances include Ryan Adams, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Grouplove, The Arcs, Gary Clark Jr., and Dr. Dog. The festival will also feature several late night shows including 23 String Band and RJD2 with John Dose.
