Back to life, back to reality.  It's always like that after a vacation, but coming home after a week at Burning Man is a wee bit different.  I returned to my 9-5 job to wiggle my way through the inevitable question "where did you go on your vacation?".  To some it was "a roadtrip with my girlfriends", to others "camping in the desert", and to a few I would admit my real destination, only to be asked "what's Bernie man?".

This original jam band hailing from southeastern Wisconsin was established in 1999. All the members of Cosmic Railroad have found themselves and their styles absorbed by the band. The band is known for putting the groove back in groove music with its shows. A sound that moves through uncharted water night after night never knowing what's going to pop up next.

Trey Anastasio played Jones Beach in Long Island. Here's a few pictures from the show. We'll get more up in the next few days.

Jerry would be 63 today.

We love you and miss you more than words can tell...

Brian Lauri (keyboards, vocals) has played in various popular projects around New England including the well known bands Liquid Dead (liquiddead.com), Named By Strangers (namedbystrangers.com), and Green Tea.  While earning a degree in music, he has played in many venues including The Knitting Factory (NYC), Harpers Ferry (Mass), and Higher Ground (Burlington, VT).

DSO played Denver, CO last night.  The show of choice was Rochester, N.Y. -11/21/1978.  Great version of Truckin' to end set 2. Other highlights include Bertha>Good Lovin, & Estimated>Eyes.  Lots of good folks sweating & dancing  till 2AM..

Thanks to The Grateful Web for providing my ticket in exchange for this review. The first order of business was to sell some Make Love Not War tshirts that are also available on this site. With a few beers and some other remedies of a less toxic nature we hit the parking lot. I did not actually do anything other than walk around with Mike drinking while he hustled the shirts with surprisingly effortless success.

I've decided to stop watching the news. I'll stop reading it, too. No more compulsive tapping on the refresh button on the CNN.com home page in the hopes that something wildly tragic has happened somewhere so I can palliate my boredom for five more minutes. No more news, because the news has blackened my worldview.
