Queen of Cups Lyrics:

“Relax" She said, as she kissed my head, "All things float down the stream in the end" Her mind was washed out to the sea, it seemed to me the place to be. The tide will carry her out, her mind is never coming back to shore. Caught up in a giant fishing net as she tried to come back for more. She flows out into the night, drifting through fluorescent gardens. She speaks in color and in rhyme, unconcerned with the sands of time Always in the right place, in the solitude of her unhinged mind. a little kinked up and crazy, and this girl she's all mine. I found her on a beach somewhere with a sand dollar in her hair. She looked and smiled at me, she said that it was time for tea. She took me to her room and put a liquid record on. The sounds vibrated my soul, I turned to her and she was gone. Away away, oh away away. Away away oh away. She flows out into the night.....etc etc etc.. .....kinked up and crazy, and this girl is one of a kind. (Instrumental section) And so it seems I am a fool, entangled in her web of love. The water from her cup it overflows, dripping down from up above. She shows me all the world's unseen, she speaks the secrets of the sea, she holds the beauty of the world. She's the air, she's my queen. She flows out into the night, drifting through fluorescent gardens. She speaks in color and in rhyme, unconcerned with the sands of time. Always in the right place, in the solitude of her unhinged mind. A little kinked up and crazy, and this girl she's all mine. She flows out into the night. Drifting through fluorescent gardens And this girl she's all mine.

Nerd Salad’s debut album “Press Start'' continues to build upon the band’s eclectic yet accessible sound that they established on their 2017 EP “Your Father and I Aren’t Angry, We’re Just Disappointed”.

Guitarists/vocalists Sean Lippin and Nick Cerbone grew up together in Westchester County, New York, sharing a mutual love for music. The two friends performed together in school musicals, took guitar lessons at the same music school in high school, and attended SUNY College at Oneonta together. They would frequently meet up during semesters and school breaks to experiment with different styles and sounds.

Upon graduating, Sean and Nick began writing songs together and found a rhythm section to gig around Westchester, Rockland, and NYC with. Over time, they found a common vision. The massive effort of creating and supporting a band resulted in many challenges along the way. They struggled just to find the right musicians to play with and many left to other callings.

Sean and Nick eventually recruited the powerhouse rhythm section of Frankie Cicciarello (Gallons of Pork) on bass and John Marc Degaard (The Surrealist) on drums to solidify the band's lineup. The band’s chemistry and versatility is displayed on “Press Start” as they effortlessly switch between various genres including odd-metered math rock at break neck tempos, dynamic alt rock, and instrumental jams with lengthy solos reminiscent of a late night set at your favorite festival.

The band worked with producer and recording/mixing technician Nate Jesensky at Greenpoint Recording Collective Studio in Brooklyn, NY to bring their seven track LP to living color.

Nerd Salad looks forward to celebrating their album release on 6/3 at Peekskill Brewery with more summer and fall shows to be announced soon!

Nerd Salad’s unique ability to craft catchy and thrilling material is laid out on their lead single “Dogmeat” from their debut LP “Press Start”. “Dogmeat” features a spacy and alluring guitar intro, groovy drums throughout the verse, an anthemic chorus, and an explosive instrumental bridge. The lead single is a long time fan favorite, as Nerd Salad played this song at their first show back in 2016.

“Flake” Single Release - May 27th 2022

“Flake”,  Nerd Salad’s second single from their debut LP “Press Start” explores the sounds of math rock and psychedelia. In “Flake”, the band navigates abrupt time signature and tempo changes, with colorful layers of lush synthesizers mixed in, and a melodious guitar hook worked in throughout the song.

Specialists is a funk rock band based in NYC, formed in Upstate New York in 2017. The group is led by songwriters Billy Harden (guitar) and Mikey Rotunno (bass). Their dance-driven, funk rock sound is highlighted by the duo’s split lead vocal duties.

Harden and Rotunno went through several lineup changes before solidifying their current lineup: Christian Hickey on drums, and Pete “Keys” Harden on keyboards. This has been the consistent personnel for over two years, earning the group some notable performance credits such as a Southeast US Tour in January of 2022 and a spot on the Criminal Records Stage at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta GA in October of 2021- the group’s major festival debut.

Their summer performance schedule will coincide with the release of their upcoming full-length record, the band’s fourth release. The sound of their new record will get listeners on their feet thanks to irresistible groove, crafty arrangement, witty lyrics, and catchy hooks. Their summer performance schedule kicks off July 1st at Brooklyn Made in Bushwick, NY.  Followed immediately by a performance at Funk N Waffles in Syracuse, NY on July 2nd and a festival performance at Sterling Stage Ameribeat on July 3rd.  To stay up to date with their constantly evolving tour schedule, fun posts, and new music, follow Specialists social media.
