Boston based jam-rock Quartet, SKYFOOT, releases Astronomy Man on all streaming platforms Nov. 2nd, 2020.

Unlike the mixed-bag aesthetic of many contemporary albums, “Astronomy Man” is not just a collection of songs.  There is a continuum of consciousness hidden within the genetics of this album that can’t be effectively perceived unless it is experienced in its entirety and in the intended sequence.  “Astronomy Man” comprises 11 songs, but it is a living, breathing organism that is greater than the sum of its parts. “Astronomy Man” is an entity unto itself.  This is what an album is supposed to be. - C.J. Quinn

SKYFOOT is a powerful jam-rock quartet from Boston, MA. Named '"Best in State" at the 2019 New England Music Awards, Skyfoot has performed hundreds of shows all across the U.S.  Live shows feature improvised peaks and valleys born from solid original songs that take the crowd on a roller coaster ride of delight. They've shared the stage with some of the highest regarded acts in New England and continue to tour and bolster the live jam music scene.  If you enjoy the sounds of Phish, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and The Grateful Dead, you’ll be very happy you discovered Skyfoot.

Derek Dames Ohl, bass player and vocalist from Flash Mountain Flood and a well-known solo artist has delivered a special tune for the holiday season, accompanied by a music video full of nostalgia. “Blue Skies It’s Christmas Time” is a soft, sincere song that truly pulls at the heartstrings while giving a beautiful nod to Ohl’s home state of Colorado.

Contributions from Kevin D'Angelo (drums/Flash Mountain Flood), Campbell Thomas (keys/Tenth Mountain Division), and Andrew Cooney (bass/Tenth Mountain Division) brought this track to life.

A note from Ohl on the release:

Happy Holidays! Here’s a little ditty I wrote last Christmas Eve, thrilled to finally have it released to the world! Recorded safe and socially distant at home with my friends and mixed/mastered by myself! A piece of my heart for you and your loved ones! Oh and keep a lookout for my debut EP to be released sometime next year!

“Ignite'' by Denver, Colorado-based Envy Alo is a high-altitude funk anthem for the quarantine age. Featuring vocalist Callie Morrocco, the track speaks to the power of music as a force for solace and camaraderie after a daunting year of isolation. With the power of the band’s collective songwriting efforts combined with Morrocco’s soaring vocals, “Ignite'' lives up to its name fueling a fire that erupts into a half-time breakdown that features and uplifting saxophone solo by Kevin Supina and producer/Color Red founder, Eddie Roberts, on tambourine. Slated to stand amongst the ranks of tour-de-force modern acts like Turkuaz and Grace Potter, “Ignite'' kicks off a blazing collaboration as the Denver-based band’s first single on Color Red.

When asked about the recording process and experience at Color Red, drummer Nate Etter stated “The New Mastersounds have always been a huge influence on our style and sound as a band, and we’ve been fans of Color Red since Eddie started the label. It was truly an honor to get into the studio with someone we admire so much, and even cooler that Eddie was willing to cut some tambo on the track. The track was also our first time recording to tape and the resulting vibe is something we really dig.” Bassist Karl Summers chimed in stating "Recording ‘Ignite’ was a very organic experience that felt like home hanging out with Eddie. It was our first time recording to tape and we're thrilled with the retro vibes that ensued. It was also a real honor to have Eddie grace the track with his tambourine expertise."

Since their inception in late 2015, Denver Colorado’s Envy Alo has been cooking up a unique brand of high-altitude funk for audiences all over the West. What began as a traditional organ-trio has naturally morphed into a powerhouse funk outfit that captivates audiences with their musical chops, creative song-writing, and palpable chemistry. As the band moves into its fifth year together, 2021 finds Envy Alo eager to re-emerge from isolation stronger than ever as the ship sets sail once again.  Envy Alo is Aaron Pettine (keyboards), Kevin Hinder (guitar, vocals), Kevin Supina (saxophone, vocals), Karl Summer (bass guitar), and Nate Etter (drums).

The innovative sounds and addictive grooves of The New Motif, the Northeast's hottest up-and-coming funk fusion jam band, are planning to wake from the Covid slumber for Spring 2021. The band has announced their second official live album titled ‘Live from the Lobby’. It is set for early hard copy release on Thursday 4.8.21, the opening night of their spring residency at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, MA. The album will release across all digital platforms on 4.20.21. The New Motif will occupy Soundcheck’s outdoor stage the first Thursday & Friday of every month, April through June for a total of 6 shows, beginning April 8th and 9th. Both of which are already sold out!

Following a very busy 2019, a year that boasted a full-length debut studio album (The Reciprocal Boogie), 63 shows across 9 states culminating in a New Years Eve performance with jam scene staple Pink Talking Fish at the iconic Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA, 2020 was naturally a slower year. Like the rest of the industry, they were forced to cancel their spring and summer tours and get creative in staying in touch with their audience. They also welcomed new guitar player, Tyler Arnott to the band. The year materialized into a lot of new writing with over 30 new songs, 4 socially distanced shows, and drive-ins, 3 of which sold out, as well as a couple, live stream events.

2021 is looking brighter as things begin to open and live music begins to come back, The New Motif is prepped and ready to jump on the chance to reach fans and deliver more music to their audiences. The band is also planning to get back into the studio for their second full-length album, expected to release later in the year.

Look out for TNM on some North East festival and venue stages this summer. For more information, shows, archives, and releases head to www.thenewmotif.com. The New Motif is Cory Schechtman (Keyboards, Saxophone & Vocals), Dan Kelly (Bass, Vocals), Tyler Arnott (Guitar, Vocals), and Sean Ball (Drums, Vocals).

To describe Squeaky Feet succinctly is a daunting task. The band bio is typical:

Squeaky Feet is a Denver-based group of highly skilled and classically trained players. The band's sound blends progressive and psychedelic rock, along with funk-fusion and improvisation to create a unique and fresh sound. Expect intense angular compositions, relentless groove, triumphant solos, and focused jams from Squeaky Feet.”

However, this band is the farthest from typical. Each performance and every track brings the listener to unexpected places. The complexity of the music can bring a sense of euphoria. It's an experience.

Squeaky Feet is an all-original, highly skilled, and classically trained group of musicians that is truly doing something creatively that stands on its own.

The tour opener is tonight at The Summit Music Hall in Columbus, OH for Weird Wednesday.
