Guitarist and singer songwriter, Ashley Sherlock is pleased to announce, “Dear Elizabeth,” the second single taken from his upcoming debut album “Just A Name.” The single, released Wednesday 17 May, is available to stream from https://orcd.co/alxvor1.

The music video for the single can be viewed on YouTube at https://youtu.be/HrdvsET_XOI.

“Dear Elizabeth is probably one of our favourite songs off the record,” says Ashley. “It’s a song about realising your mistakes when sometimes it’s too late.”

All roads lead to Manchester. Northern Britain’s cultural powerhouse spits out a great band every ten years. Get ready for Ashley Sherlock’s highly anticipated debut album “Just A Name” released by Ruf Records on Friday 16 June.

Pre-order the album from https://orcd.co/jr5yo10.

On the move, on the make, armed with a beat-up Stelfox electric guitar, a hot knife of a voice and a pocketful of hooks, the acclaimed Mancunian singer-songwriter, and his telepathic blues-rock power trio, have already packed-out iconic venues and pricked up influential ears.

“The band started about four years ago,” reflects Ashley. “That’s when I found the dynamic rhythm section of Charlie Rachael Kay on bass and Danny Rigg on drums.”

Continues Ashley, “I’d just come home from a trip to Nashville and was booked to play an event. I was persuaded by the promoter to get a band together for that one show – and they just stuck around! Now, we’re one hundred per cent a family. I love those guys to bits.”

Ashley is no stranger to the UK live circuit. In the past 12 months’ he’s supported the likes of Kris Barras Band, The Quireboys and Laurence Jones.

Ashley has released two acclaimed EPs with 2019’s self-titled “Ashley Sherlock,” followed by 2021’s “If You’re Listening.” In 2022, he was nominated for UK Blues Federation’s Young Blues Artist of the Year. He’s even had airplay on the New Rock Show on Planet Rock, and beyond.

Louder Than War praised Sherlock by saying, “Ashley’s music will put a big stupid grin on your face,” while Get Ready to Rock professed, “his music will leave you wanting more.”

Now signed to Ruf Records, Ashley’s debut album “Just A Name,” hopes that you won’t forget his. “The writing and sense of melody has grown on this record and it’s an honest representation of our live sound,” says Ashley.

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, and Gibson brand ambassador Jared James Nichols announces his next single “Easy Come, Easy Go” with an accompanying live video. It is the second single from his critically acclaimed eponymous third studio album Jared James Nichols, originally released in January 2023.

Watch the “Easy Come, Easy Go” live performance music video HERE.

“Easy Come, Easy Go” is an electrifying, foot stomping, rock and roll animal,” says Jared. “From the first note, this song is unrelenting with fuzzed out guitars and a heavy groove. I have always loved the phrase easy come, easy go meaning not to dwell or live in the past. The message is to take life as it comes and live in the moment.”

Released earlier in the year by Black Hill Records, Jared James Nichols features every side of the Nashville-based multi-talent and the various genres he grew up listening to, whether it was grunge or blues; all of which has influenced his authentic sound.

Jared James Nichols is available on all digital music platforms, CD, and vinyl HERE.

“I made a record to serve as the menu for the live show,” reflects Jared. “There is an element of excitement and danger. It’s my version of rock ‘n’ roll with a little more humanity. The album is a day in the life with the ups and downs, but it musically rings true to who I am as an artist.”

Jared James Nichols was produced, engineered, and mixed by Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Slash, Rival Sons) and recorded live at Blackbird Studios and Sienna Studios. The recording sessions occurred at a pivotal moment for Nichols, who almost never performed again as he was sidelined months earlier with a broken arm. After surgery, which left him with a plate and sixteen screws in his right arm, he pushed himself with diligence and determination to regain use of his arm and his storied guitar proficiency.

The album kicks into high gear with the bluesy wallop of “My Delusion.” Elsewhere on the 12-track collection is the Black Sabbath-inspired “Hallelujah,” where a flurry of drums gives way to a thick and heavy battering ram of a blues riff only to crash into a rickety bass line and atomic shredding. Jared bares his soul on the emotionally charged “Out Of Time,” a heartfelt and tearful tribute to his late father.

Jared first emerged onto the scene in 2015 with his debut Old Glory & The Wild Revival and followed that up with Black Magic in 2018, which yielded the fan favorite “Honey Forgive Me.” More recently, he issued the Shadow Dancer EP (2021) and collaborated earlier this year with both Maggie Rose and Joe Bonamassa for revised versions of his song “Threw Me To The Wolves.” Gibson also welcomed Nichols as an official ambassador, plotting the release of several signature Jared James Nichols guitars.

Nichols has racked up millions of streams and critical acclaim and, in between show-stopping solo shows, has performed alongside icons such as Slash, Billy Gibbons, and Zakk Wylde. Guitar World magazine has attested, “If you’ve never witnessed Jared James Nichols onstage, let us say right now: you’re missing out, big time.”

Renowned rock & soul guitarist John Oates (Hall & Oates), Sir Brian May guitar prodigy Arielle (pictured above), and Monkees star Micky Dolenz are the latest musical icons to join legendary rock and roll guitarist James Burton for a special one-night-only concert at the iconic London Palladium on Sunday 4 June; ‘James Burton & Friends UK – For One Night Only’.

Tickets are available from LWTheatres.co.uk and Ticketmaster.co.uk.

They will join previously announced celebrated musicians: Sir Brian May, Van Morrison, Albert Lee and Jeff ‘Skunk’ Baxter. Together with further performers also announced including Jason Scheff, Steve Wariner, Tommy Emmanuel, Tommy Sims, Caroline Jones, and Essex County.

Instantly known to Elvis Presley fans around the world and one of the most recognised musicians to emerge during North America’s burgeoning rock and roll, rockabilly and country music eras, James Burton’s name has since been attached to such legendary artists as George Harrison, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, The Everly Brothers, John Denver, Emmylou Harris, and Merle Haggard, and on thousands of recordings. His innovative use of banjo strings on his guitar in the 1950s to bend and stretch notes, coupled with his unique ‘chicken pickin’ playing style revolutionised rock, country and pop guitar and continues to inspire and influence artists across all generations to this day.

Burton holds a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted by longtime fan and friend Keith Richards in 2001, and has also been recognised by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. It should come as little surprise then that Burton’s London appearance on 4 June has drawn the participation of many of his fellow musician and artist admirers from around the world.

This very special and historic show ‘James Burton & Friends UK,’ will take its audience on a unique musical experience across more than six decades of exceptional musical history. In addition to the line-up of names announced so far will be Musical Director Leo Green, along with the Leo Green Orchestra - a fantastic ensemble of topflight musicians and singers, forming the supporting cast for this unique event. The evening will be hosted by Catatonia singer Cerys Matthews.

James Burton said: "We are thrilled to announce another host of phenomenal musicians for our unique event at The London Palladium. Don't miss out on this evening of incredible musical entertainment that will help our Foundation continue its mission of providing music education to those who need it most. We're grateful to all of the artists who are generously donating their time and talent to support our cause."

Proceeds from the show will go to The James Burton Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports music education for those in need through guitar donations and music instructions. Over the years, the Foundation has given thousands of guitars to schools, children’s and veterans’ hospitals, and other organisations. The success of this event will allow the Foundation to expand its music education program, facilities, and partnerships.

James Burton explains: “I've always wanted to do my own show, which - in 2005, we actually came up with the idea, invite all my friends that I worked with, and all my guitar player friends and singers as well. I wanted to do something for the kids in music, and I got to thinking I would like to donate guitars to the kids in school - you know, get music back in schools. But the government took it out years ago. I still get letters from teachers and young kids thanking me for this program that we do.”

Psychedelic Montreal four-piece rock and roll band, The Damn Truth, are pleased to announce the Wednesday May 31st release of their new single and accompanying music video, “Lonely.”  The video is available to watch on YouTube HERE.

“The song Lonely started taking shape in our touring van as we began a cross Canada tour," says TDT’s lead singer, Lee-La Baum. “Three days into that journey, our van went up in flames with our acoustic instruments, personal belongings and our hopes to continue our long-awaited tour.”

Continues Lee-la, “We put together a GoFundMe campaign so that we could rent wheels that would take us and our trailer of stage gear home. 24 hours later there was an incredible amount of money in our account. It was enough to buy a new van, clothes, and rent the gear to continue our tour. It was the beginning of our love affair with the incredible hearts and souls that make up our rock n roll community.”

“After the tour, we started recording demos for the songs that would later become Now or Nowhere. ‘Lonely’ was one of the first songs we sent to Bob Rock, but it was originally called ‘Needs Help.’ It was just an acapella vocal line because, after the van fire, which was the way we were playing it on tour. It was an ode to our fans that saved us from being lonely and stranded on the highway.”

“Bob fell in love with the song right away and told us not worry; that Tom should just try to play a guitar lick along with the vocal melody and the rest would all fall into place in the studio. That’s exactly what happened. Bob walked into the live room and said, ‘The whole song is there, just play it.’ With his masterful, skilful ear and delicate direction, within two hours the song was recorded. Done.”

“Lonely” dovetails The Damn Truth’s summer concerts in the UK throughout July. The band will play a series of headline concerts and will also play Steelhouse Festival on Saturday July 29th. Tickets for the band’s July headline concerts are available from TheGigcartel.com

The Cold Stares will support The Damn Truth at London O2 Islington Academy 2 on July 21st. Empyre will support the band on all other dates, except Sheffield Greystones on June 30th, where support will come from Zac and the New Men and Tessio.

The Damn Truth are Lee-La Baum (vocals, guitar), Tom Shemer (guitar), PY Letellier (bass) and Dave Traina (drums).

They play London, O2 Islington Academy (July 21), Shoreham Ropetackle (July 22), Blackpool, Waterloo (July 23), Leicester Musician (July 25), Buckley Tivoli (July 27), Leek Foxlowe Arts (July 28), Steelhouse Festival (July 29), Sheffield Greystones (July 30), and Milton Keynes, The  Stables (August 1).

In 2021, The Damn Truth released their critically acclaimed album “Now or Nowhere.” Produced by the legendary Grammy Award-winning Bob Rock, the album is available from www.thedamntruth.com.

No stranger to UK radio, The Damn Truth have had three singles from the “Now Or Nowhere” album playlisted on Planet Rock. These include – “This Is Who We Are Now,” “Tomorrow,” and “Only Love.” “This Is Who We Are Now” was played on BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show with Johnnie Walker. On several occasions, the band won Tracks of the Week on Classic Rock’s Louder Sound.

The band have been championed by the British music press with extensive magazine coverage in Rolling Stone, Classic Rock, Blues Matters, Guitarist, Powerplay, Guitar Techniques, Record Collector, Fireworks, Blues in Britain, Hard Rock Hell, MNPR, and R’N’R Magazine.

“The real magic of The Damn Truth is best experienced uncut, in our full set,” says TDT’s lead singer and guitarist, Lee-La Baum. “Our connection with our audiences is the most important thing, so don’t miss our intimate headline shows in July!”

“The Damn Truth are a fresh revivalism of the psyche music scene from the mid-60s,” says Jeff Laufer, editor Rock Bands of LA. “Critics and fans praise their regeneration of the hard rock sound and values.”  Continues Jeff, “Bob Rock found a spirit within the band that he hadn’t experienced for many years. “He saw something special… an artist with burning talent that needed the right direction to break wide open… like lightning in a bottle.”

Six tracks on the new album “Now or Nowhere” were produced by legendary Grammy Award winning Bob Rock (Metallica, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, The Cult, The Offspring) at Bryan Adams’ recording studio “The Warehouse” in Vancouver.

“Now or Nowhere” chronicles the band as they navigate life, love, and everything else in a world gone seemingly upside down and sideways. Due to the fact that they were unable to finish the album with Bob because of COVID-19 restrictions, the band recorded the remaining three songs with help from Juno Award-winning producer Jean Massicotte who mixed “Everything Fades”; and the rest of the mixing was done by Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton), Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against The Machine), and Mike Plotnikoff (Van Halen, Cranberries).

The Damn Truth have toured Europe and North America and opened tours for Z.Z. Top (they partied with Billy Gibbons in his pyjamas), The Sheepdogs, Styx, King King, and Rival Sons, and were also featured on Joe Bonamassa’s 2021 Keeping The Blues Alive Stream-A-Thon.

They sold out the legendary Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles and the Corona Theatre in their hometown of Montreal. One of their music videos was featured on the official Janis Joplin Facebook page. It's a culmination of a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears.

The new single dovetails Caitlin Krisko and The Broadcast’s upcoming September 2023 UK Tour where they will be supporting Robert  Jon & The Wreck (see tour dates listed below).

Krisko delivers a skilled and assertive vocal performance that is dripping with swagger and rock power that keeps you moving from start to end. The song tells the story of a woman who finds her partner has been hiding another relationship across town, then calls the operator to connect with her partner’s other victim to join forces for revenge.

Krisko has been stunning audiences across America and Europe touring relentlessly with her own brand of roots rock filled with soaring vocals, powerful grooves, emotional lyrics and undeniable songwriting.

The band consists of Caitlin Krisko (Lead Vocals), Aaron Austin (Guitar, Background Vocals), Michael W. Davis (Drums), William Seymour (Bass, Background Vocals) and Tyler Housholder (Percussion).

Caitlin Krisko and The Broadcast has shared the bill with artists such as Mavis Staples, Marcus King, Blackberry Smoke, The Avett Brothers and Greta Van Fleet.

Last fall, the band released “Haunted by You” which was placed at the top of Spotify’s “Blues Ballads” playlist, garnering critical acclaim for its soulful blues and Krisko’s captivating performance.

The band has worked with producers such as Eric Sarafin (Ben Harper, Foreigner, Barenaked Ladies), and Jim Scott (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Johnny Cash, Grace Potter) while also releasing 2020’s album “Lost My Sight” working hand in hand with legendary session giant; previous member of Tedeschi Trucks Band, and David Bowie’s Blackstar “Tim Lefebvre” and current TTB drummer Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell.

The album is available to pre-order on Double CD, vinyl and digital HERE.

The first single You Talk Dirty will be accompanied with a music video and will be released on Wednesday 12th July. The single will be available to stream and download from HERE.

Some may argue that music is born in the studio, but it comes to life and evolves when performed live on stage. With a live album, there is no safety net. You get one shot at capturing those perfect moments and preserving them forever.

With the pandemic now firmly in our rear-view mirror Erja Lyytinen and her band have been touring relentlessly. With the high-flying Finn in top form, the artist decided to capture the magic of their live performances on their new concert album, Diamonds on the Road - Live 2023.

Speaking about the new live album, Lyytinen said: “When playing live, you’ve got one moment to get it right, and then the moment is gone. There is no correcting stuff later. It is very raw and exciting to play and sing at the same time. The adrenaline runs through your body, and everything around you affects your performance.”

Internationally acclaimed guitarist and singer songwriter Erja Lyytinen will release Crosstown Traffic; the second single taken from her highly anticipated fourth live album Diamonds On The Road – Live 2023.

The new single, accompanied with a live music video, will be released on Tuesday 15 August. The single is available on all streaming platforms HERE. The music video is available to watch on YouTube HERE.

Released worldwide by Tuohi Records on Friday 6th October 2023, the new live album is available to pre-order on double CD, vinyl, and digital from the official Erja Lyytinen shop HERE.

Crosstown Traffic was originally recorded by Jimi Hendrix for his 1968 album Electric Ladyland.

“There is only one Hendrix, there´s no way you can replicate Jimi, and that’s why I wanted to perform my own take on this classic song,” says Erja. “We brought the song to the 21st century by adding some new elements. Our version is slightly faster than Jimi´s and I´m also playing the song in open C tuning with a slide and that gives the song a whole new approach.”

Continues Erja, “The song is a lot of fun to play live, it´s energetic and I just love the lyrics! There are plenty of metaphors and sexual references, all cleverly delivered by describing a traffic jam, which alludes to how a relationship has come to its end. I´m using a kazoo in the ending riff of the song, as Hendrix did use a comb and cellophane to create the sound of traffic. The result is a fun and cool live track with some interesting turnouts in the arrangement!”

The release marks Erja Lyytinen’s fourth live album, and follows on from Songs from the Road, Live in London, and Lockdown Live. The new album is the first concert release from the gifted guitarist to capture the post-Covid live experience.

“Diamonds on the Road was recorded towards the end of our Spring tour in March 2023,” says Erja. “We played ten shows in a row, of which eight were sold out. The band had a good flow going, and the songs were rolling nicely.”

Following their February 2023 UK tour supporting Robert Jon & The Wreck, and the July 26th release of their recent critically acclaimed single “Sweet Maria”, rising Canadian southern soul, roots rock band Bywater Call release a new single “For All We Know” on Wednesday, September 6th.

The single is available on all streaming platforms HERE.

“For All We Know” precedes Bywater Call’s upcoming September and October UK and European tour dates.  The band tour the UK from October 3-13th. Tickets for all concerts are available from www.bywatercall.com (tour dates listed below).

“For All We Know” is a rootsy, Americana inspired rock song that’s about listening to your inner voice and taking chances on your hopes and dreams, no matter what obstacles, internal and external, may lie in the way.  Through lyrics, vocals and form, the song progresses from stripped down, delicate and questioning, to full, joyous, and celebratory.

“For All We Know” takes the listener on a journey, opening with beautiful acoustic guitar picking from Dave Barnes and a soft, exposed vocal from Meghan Parnell, building to a strong, full band, driving finale, representing the courage, strength and satisfaction in self-knowledge and self-actualization.

“For All We Know” was filmed and recorded at friend, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and engineer Kevin Howley’s barn studio in the country of Ontario, Canada. Bass (Mike Meusel), drums (Bruce McCarthy), horns (Julian Nalli, sax and Stephen Dyte, trumpet) and keys (John Kervin) were captured live-off-the-floor. Overdubs including background vocals from Claire Davis and Joanna Mohammed (Aphrose) were captured at drummer Bruce McCarthy’s home studio the Beat Farm, where he also acted as mixing engineer.

Video team Lightning House Media out of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, joined the band for the recording session, capturing an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at a unique recording process, followed by a live performance as the sun was setting.

“For All We Know” is Bywater Call’s second single following their highly anticipated sophomore album “Remain” released in September 2022, which is available on all streaming platforms and for purchase on CD and vinyl.

Meghan Parnell and Dave Barnes are the driving force behind Bywater Call, a powerhouse seven-piece Southern soul, roots rock band from Toronto, Canada.

Formed in 2017, the band has received multiple Independent Blues and Maple Blues Award nominations including Entertainer of the Year and Best Female Vocalist for the 2023 Awards Season. They have toured extensively in Europe over the last few years, including in May and June of 2022, featuring a mainstage appearance at the Netherlands’ premiere blues festival Moulin Blues.  Their shows were praised in Dutch and German media, with references to Meghan as one of the best female voices in blues and roots today.

In August 2023, the band participated in Joe Bonamassa’s third Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea Mediterranean Cruise alongside headliners Blackberry Smoke, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, including a performance at the All-Star Jam on the mainstage with Bonamassa himself.

Bywater Call have commanded festival stages from Belgium to Germany in Europe, Florida to Kentucky and Tennessee in the USA, and Toronto to Quebec City in Canada. In May of 2023, they opened for the Canadian Award-winning band White Horse at the inaugural edition of the Smokestack Music Festival in Hamilton, Ontario.

Bywater Call continues to tour across the US throughout the remainder of 2023 and will return to tour Europe, including their first headline tour of the UK from October 3-13th.

Fans of Bywater Call can look forward to their second single of 2023 “For All We Know” available on all platforms from July 26th.  To stay updated and be a part of Bywater Call’s rapidly growing fanbase visit www.bywatercall.com  for more details.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed album “Death Wish Blues,” Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton are pleased to announce the release of their new single “Lover On The Side.” The single is accompanied by an official music video which can be viewed HERE.

The single and music video are released ahead of the duo’s “Death Wish Blues” October 2023 UK Tour. The highly anticipated UK tour teams two wild talents together onstage, an uncommon and fiery pairing of two bandleader guitar heroes trading lead vocal and guitar duties.

The UK tour kicks off at The Fire Station in Sunderland on October 19th and finishes on October 30th with a sold-out show at London’s legendary 100 Club. Tickets for all concerts are available from alttickets, Gigantic, Ticketmaster, samanthafish.com and jessedayton.com.

Special guests are Canadian roots rockers The Commoners. Fans of classic rock will be familiar with their singles “Fill My Cup,” "Find A Better Way,” and “Too Much” that received heavy airplay on Planet Rock.

Samantha and Jesse will be doing an HMV instore signing event that will take place at in Birmingham at on Saturday October 28th.

On the UK tour, Samantha and Jesse will perform songs from their new album “Death Wish Blues” including the new single “Lover On The Side,” and the radio smash “Deathwish.” Samantha will also perform songs from her 2021 album “Faster” featuring the singles “Twisted Ambition”, “All Ice, No Whiskey”, “Better Be Lonely” and the title track “Faster”. Samantha will also perform songs from her back catalogue including the popular “Bulletproof” from her 2019 album, “Kill Or Be Kind.”

After launching her recording career in 2009, Samantha Fish established herself as a rising star in the contemporary blues world. The charismatic singer-guitarist-songwriter has earned a reputation as a rising guitar hero and powerful live performer, while releasing a series of acclaimed albums that have shown her restless creative spirit consistently pushing her in new, exciting, and often unexpected musical directions.

The New York Times called Fish, "An impressive blues guitarist who sings with sweet power," and "One of the genre's most promising young talents." Her hometown paper, the Kansas City Star wrote: “Samantha Fish has kicked down the door of the patriarchal blues club and displays more imagination and creativity than some blues veterans exhibit over the course of their careers."

Samantha believes her musical future is an open road. "I'm never going be a traditional blues artist, because that's not who I am," she says. "But it's all the Blues for me. When Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf came out, what they were doing didn't sound like anything that had been done in Blues before. You've got to keep that kind of fire and spirit. I'm never going to do Muddy Waters better than Muddy Waters, so I try to be who I am, and in doing that, I find my best voice.”

Equally steeped in Texas/Louisiana blues, old-school country and punk-rock, guitarist Jesse Dayton has long been a well-kept secret of the music world, a road warrior touring alongside acts as diverse as George Strait, Rob Zombie, Social Distortion, the Supersuckers, and John Doe and a sought after session player and sideman hiding in plain sight as a guitarist for Waylon Jennings, Duff McKagan, Ryan Bingham, Glenn Danzig, and L.A. punk pioneers X and boasting an extraordinary background that includes recording with the likes of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, working with Rob Zombie on the soundtracks for his iconic horror films, and releasing a series of acclaimed solo albums.

Inducted in 2022 into the Austin Music Hall of Fame, Dayton’s life story reads like a “who's who” of American music. After being discovered at a Beaumont dive bar by Clifford Antone, owner of iconic Austin’s Home of the Blues, Dayton’s trio began packing clubs and theatres across Houston, Dallas, and Austin, Texas. His first solo record—featuring great luminaries like Doug Sahm, Flaco Jimenez, and Johnny Gimble—hit #1 on the Americana charts, and then he was off to the races, touring the world with punk legends Social Distortion, The Supersuckers, and X, and helping with arrangements and guitar on The Supersuckers’ biggest selling record, “Must’ve Been High.”

Dion releases his newest song, “An American Hero” today. With a career expanding more than eight decades, he continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world. Joining forces with country music star Carlene Carter, daughter of June Carter. This highly anticipated single release is accompanied by the official music video featuring Dion and Carlene, as well as scenes of ordinary Americans in pursuit of their lives and dreams.

Listen to “An American Hero” HERE.

Watch the music video featuring Dion and Carlene Carter NOW.

Dion, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame almost 35 years ago by the late Lou Reed, commented, “It’s a song about the ordinary person being a hero and championing the cause of the people around them. You don’t have to look at cable news or online and don’t look to politicians to save you. Look into your own heart and be a hero to the ten people you affect in your life the most. Patriotism really isn’t about politics; we’re all Americans, so values and character are what matter most. Stop looking elsewhere for the answers to our problems; look into your own heart.

Dion expressed great enduring admiration for his duet partner and the legacy she represents. “She’s a member of the Carter Family who were there when country music began. I’ve always loved this girl’s voice. She’s so beautiful and sings with such heart; she’s so authentic. I just love the presence she brings to the song.”

Carlene Carter commented, “I was flattered and delighted when Dion got in touch and asked me to join him on this song. It’s about self-reliance and unity and doing what you can for those you cherish most. I can’t help but characterize it as a heroic effort and I’m proud to have been part of it.”

“An American Hero,” has been released through Keeping The Blues Alive Records. The song, written by Dion and Mike Aquilina, comes in advance of an entirely new album from the rock/blues/gospel great who has maintained a significant presence in American music and has influenced countless entertainers over the course of his career.

The last few years have been especially productive for Dion DiMucci, who during the height of the pandemic lockdown in 2020 released the album Blues With Friends that included collaborations with a wide range of artists including Joe Bonamassa, Brian Setzer, the late Jeff Beck, John Hammond, Van Morrison, Joe Louis Walker, Jimmy Vivino, Billy Gibbons, Sonny Landreth, Paul Simon, Samantha Fish, Rory Block as well as Patti Scialfa and Bruce Springsteen. The album’s liner notes were written by Bob Dylan, spending nine weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Blues Album chart. “Song For Sam Cooke (Here In America),” Dion’s duet with Paul Simon, was named “Greatest of the Great 2020 Songs” by American Songwriter’s Paul Zollo.

In 2021 Dion released Stomping Ground which included liner notes by The Who’s Pete Townshend and 14 tracks featuring incredible performers (a few repeat collaborators from Blues With Friends) including Billy Gibbons, Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Vivino, Joe Bonamassa, and Patti Scialfa, as well as newcomers Boz Scaggs, Eric Clapton, G.E. Smith, Keb’ Mo’, Marcia Ball, Mark Knopfler, Peter Frampton and Rickie Lee Jones.

Last year The Wanderer, a musical based on Dion’s life, debuted at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ, and is expected to arrive on Broadway within the next 18 months. Directed by Kenneth Ferrone and based on Charles Messina’s book, the initial run was the subject of critical acclaim with Broadway World calling it “a moving, no-holds-barred new musical about the glow of the spotlight, the shadow of addiction, and the triumph of the human spirit against all odds, set to the iconic sound of an incomparable era in American music.” The New York Times review noted the show “succeeds on sheer sonic strength,” with reviewer Juan A. Ramírez adding, “I was continuously charmed by this throwback-y musical and its angel-voiced ensemble.”

Rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Philip Sayce is excited to announce the release of his new single, "Lady Love Divine," on November 10, 2023. This track is the second single off his highly anticipated new album, The Wolves are Coming (Atomic Gemini / Forty Below Records), and will be released on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Stream "Lady Love Divine" HERE.  Stream on YouTube HERE.  Pre-order The Wolves Are Coming HERE.

"Lady Love Divine" explores the light in contrast to the darkness on the new album with an uplifting, foot-stomping, funk groove that delivers hooks in all the right places. Philip states, "It's a funky, upbeat song about that feeling you get when you instantly fall in love with someone forever. Finding the courage to talk to this person and win their love."

"The song represents a bridge — a connection between despair and hope — that invites broken spirits to be transformed and healed." The Wolves Are Coming, Philip's new album, is more powerful, unique, and bold than anything he has written or recorded. "These songs and stories came into focus during my darkest times," says Philip.

Produced by Philip at Station House Studio in Los Angeles, and engineered by GRAMMY Award-winner Mark Rains (Rival Sons, Shooter Jennings, Tanya Tucker), mixed by Brian Moncarz (Fantastic Negrito, Alice Cooper, Ian Moore), and mastered by Brian Lucey (Lizzo, The Black Keys, Michael Bublé), features drummers Aaron Sterling (John Mayer, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift) and Michael Leasure, (The Moody Blues, Melissa Etheridge), and was co-written with GRAMMY award winner and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Richard Marx, with Philip providing the guitars, bass, and lead vocals.

ABOUT PHILIP SAYCE
Born in Wales and raised in Toronto, Canada, Philip’s love of the guitar started early. As a teen, Philip was plucked from the Toronto blues scene by the legendary Jeff Healey, who took the young guitarist under his wing and showed him the ropes, touring the world and recording as a member of Healey’s band. From 2004 - 2009, Philip toured internationally and recorded with Melissa Etheridge, including performances at The Oscars and The Grammys. He then kick-started his solo career establishing a rabid fan base in Europe and beyond. During this period, Sayce recorded his first solo album, Peace Machine. Buoyed by guitar fans’ response to the album, Philip returned his attention to his full-time solo artist career, and subsequent releases garnered high praise in both the blues, rock, and guitar worlds. To date, he has released six studio albums and the Live EP, Scorched Earth: Volume 1.

British Blues rock guitar prodigy Joanne Shaw Taylor is pleased to announce that British blues rock guitarist and singer songwriter Connor Selby will be her special guest on her February 2024 UK Tour, including the Amsterdam concert on February 14.

Joanne’s UK tour kicks off on Saturday 17 February 2024 at Manchester Royal Northern College of Music, takes in London’s O2 Indigo on Thursday 22 February, and finishes on Thursday 29 February at the Palace Theatre in Southend-on-Sea.

Connor was voted “Young Artist of the Year” at the UK Blues Awards for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022). He opened for the Who in July 2019 at Wembley Stadium, and played Hyde Park, London, during the summer of 2022, with Pearl Jam, Stereophonics and Johnny Marr.

Joanne will perform songs from her recent critically acclaimed albums "Nobody’s Fool," and The Blues Album which topped Billboard Magazine’s Official Blues Album Chart.  She will also perform new songs from her forthcoming album including “Sweet ‘Lil Lies,” “Black Magic,” and her latest single "Wild Love."

The Blues Album was voted #1 Most Played Blues Album of 2021 by the Independent Blues Broadcaster’s Association. Joanne will also dig deep into her rich back catalogue where she will hand-pick songs from her albums Reckless Heart, Wild, The Dirty Truth, Almost Always Never, Diamonds in the Dirt, and White Sugar.

Her latest single “Wild Love,” is crafted alongside Kevin Shirley, the iconic producer, at the legendary RCA Studio A in Nashville. The song is brimming with bluesy undertones and an infectious energy.

The track showcases Joanne's signature guitar licks against a backdrop of dynamic drums and bass. "Wild Love" is a departure into a darker, more intimate territory, capturing the essence of a moody blues night while retaining the vigour that her fans have come to adore.

"I love this track,” says Joanne. “I wanted it to be dark and sexy. I think, with the boys’ help, we came up with something really cool that the band in the studio really made come to life.”

The past few years have been some of the most productive over the course of Dion’s storied career that spans multiple eras in music, culture and consciousness. Today’s release “Soul Force” featuring powerhouse Susan Tedeschi, underscores his renewed and ongoing creative drive. This is the second single released from Dion’s upcoming new album of all original penned tracks, Girl Friends, showcasing powerful female collaborators. The first single “An American Hero” with Carlene Carter dropped back in October and paved the way for this new collection of songs. Girl Friends, slated for March 8, is his third consecutive album through blues rock titan Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping The Blues Alive Records.

Dion explains, “I’ve noticed that men play a different tune when there are women in the room — and it’s a different kind of jam when women are in the mix. I don’t know why this is so, but it is. Maybe we men, at some primitive level, are competing for their attention. As I said, I don’t know why or how. I do know it makes better music and we’re all better for it.” He concludes with an encapsulation of vision for Girl Friends,

“I wanted the best music possible. So, I wrote up a batch of duets for me and my ‘girl friends,’ the women who inhabit my headphones — the women who make me turn up the volume when they drop into my radio. I invited them to join me, one by one, and here they are, wailing on the guitar and into the microphone. You’ll hear the feminine genius in every groove of this record, and you won’t forget any of it”.

Girl Friends finds Dion keeping musical company with a line-up of stellar female artists who are heard on the album’s 12 original tracks, 11 of which were composed by Dion and Mike Aquilina with one written by Dion and the late Scott Kempner (The Dictators, The Del Lords). Joining Tedeschi and Carter are Rory Block, Shemekia Copeland, Debbie Davis, Randi Fishenfeld, Sue Foley, Danielle Nicole, Christine Ohlman, Maggie Rose, Joanne Shaw Taylor and Valerie Tyson. The album was produced by Wayne Hood and Dion, who were also producing partners on Blues With Friends and Stomping Ground.

Due to popular demand, and following her successful 2023 UK tour, internationally acclaimed guitarist, and singer songwriter Erja Lyytinen will embark on her "Diamonds On The Road" 10-date UK Tour in April 2024. Tickets are available from https://erjalyytinen.com/tour.

The tour is named after current live album Diamonds On The Road, that was originally released by Tuohi Records on Friday 6th October 2023. The album is available on Double CD, vinyl and digital HERE.

“After our long-awaited visit to UK in November 2023, I realised that I have really missed touring in this country,” says Erja. “We have some hardcore fans in the UK, real blues rock enthusiasts who certainly show their appreciation when you’re on stage and that feels good!”

Continues Erja, “I can’t wait to come back in April 2024 for a full tour, consisting of altogether ten shows. I will be flying straight from Australia to London. I’m looking forward to enjoying England in the springtime.”

Watch the live music video performance of “Väinämöinen Tuonelassa (Live).“

Some may argue that music is born in the studio, but it comes to life and evolves when performed live on stage. With a live album, there is no safety net. You get one shot at capturing those perfect moments and preserving them forever. Erja Lyytinen’s live album Diamonds On The Road is evident of this.

“When playing live, you’ve got one moment to get it right, and then the moment is gone,” says Erja. “There is no correcting stuff later. It is very raw and exciting to play and sing at the same time. The adrenaline runs through your body, and everything around you affects your performance.

Diamonds On The Road marks Erja Lyytinen’s fourth live album, and follows on from Songs from the Road, Live in London, and Lockdown Live. The new album is the first concert release from the gifted guitarist to capture the post-Covid live experience. Diamonds On The Road is available to purchase HERE.

“Diamonds on the Road was recorded towards the end of our Spring tour in March 2023,” says Erja. “We played ten shows in a row, of which eight were sold out. The band had a good flow going, and the songs were rolling nicely.”

Erja attributes some of those changes to her equipment and repertoire of trusty axes. “Since my last live recording, my live guitar arsenal has grown quite a bit. I have five to six guitars, from Strats and Teles to custom-made guitars, on stage with me. It´s quite cool to dig out the different characteristics of each guitar. I´m using my road-worn Fender Custom Shop guitar on the songs “Black Ocean” and “Never Really Had You.” I had the guitar fine-tuned right before the tour and added it to my live arsenal. I feel as though it has been a sin to keep this Strat as my sofa guitar for years!”

The songs featured on Diamonds On The Road highlight the old, the new, the borrowed and the blues. “For the set list of the live album, we had a mixture of my favourite old songs and then a selection of the songs from my latest studio album, Waiting for The Daylight,” explains Erja. “We also recorded a Jimi Hendrix classic, “Crosstown Traffic.” I made my own version of it by playing the song using slide! It is so cool to play the song, and, on the recording, it is our first encore.”

Diamonds on The Road showcases Erja and the band doing what they do best, playing concerts for their fans. "I have always loved performing live, but now, I enjoy playing even more and saying this on behalf of my band; I think they do, too. Performing live is stronger, more relaxed, and empowering. I´m grateful to be a guitarist and singer who is giving her best for the audience each night. It is the best thing you can do with your pants on," concludes Erja.

Invocation is the title of the highly anticipated new 11-track album from slide guitar virtuoso Troy Redfern. The album, released by RED7 Records on Friday 17th May 2024, is now available in limited edition coloured vinyl, black vinyl, plus two different CD cover artwork designs. All formats are available to pre-order from www.troyredfern.com.

The fourth single from the album “The Calling” is released Friday 1 March and is available on Spotify HERE.

Watch the music video for “The Calling” on YouTube at https://youtu.be/z7BEuF8vkOI.

The IRSC code for the single is UKHDU1600077.

Says Troy, “‘I’ve always wanted to write a slow motion, epic kind of a tune. The Calling was a song that was born out of that desire. This song is about escaping the technological net we all live in, and to get out into the wilderness to reset and get perspective on what’s important in life.”

Troy has proved time and time again that his cup of inspiration is not only full, but runneth over, writing and release albums at an unprecedented pace and judging by the strength of “The Calling” and the three previous singles “The Strange,” “Getaway” and “The Fever,” the forthcoming album Invocation, promises to be his best yet.

Over the course of last two albums The Fire Cosmic (2021) and Wings of Salvation (2022) Troy found his true voice stylistically in terms of writing and playing, but with Invocation he created a collection of outstanding new songs that carves out his own identity as to who he really is an artist.

Troy head to the west Wales coast with his trusty 1929 National Triolian resonator guitar for a week of solitude in a remote Sheppard’s hut to sketch the initial song ideas for the new album.

“It was important for me to clear my mind of all distractions so I could really focus on what I wanted to write on this album and the direction I wanted to take it in,” says Troy.

With Invocation Troy explores fresh musical territory, from the heavy, bone crushing slide riffs and big sing along choruses on “Van Helsing” and “Getaway” to the evocative, wind-swept western landscapes of “The Native” and “Blind Me.” After three albums in three years Troy continues to expand his musical horizons and keep his creative fire burning.

Following last year’s Death Wish Blues UK Tour with Jesse Dayton, celebrated American blues rock guitarist Samantha Fish returns to the UK in October 2024 for her 10-date Bulletproof Headline Tour.

Planet Rock’s 48-hour ticket pre-sale starts 10am GMT on Wednesday 13 March via planetrock.com.

Tickets go on general sale 10am GMT on Friday 15th March via www.alttickets.com, www.gigantic.com, www.ticketmaster.co.uk (Edinburgh show), & www.samanthafish.com.

“I am thrilled to tour the UK in October,” says Samantha. UK audiences are incredible.”

Samantha was recently Grammy-nominated for “Contemporary Blues Album of the Year” for her collaboration with Jesse Dayton on Death Wish Blues. This month, Total Guitar Magazine voted Samantha as one of the “Top 100 Greatest Blues Guitarists” of all-time.

Samantha will play a selection of songs from her entire catalogue of albums including Wild Heart, Chills & Fever, Belle of the West, Death Wish Blues, Faster, and Kill Or Be Kind (the latter features the fan favourite, Bulletproof).

After launching her recording career in 2009, Samantha established herself as a rising star in the contemporary blues world. The charismatic singer-guitarist-songwriter has earned a reputation as a guitar hero and a powerful live performer, while releasing a series of acclaimed albums that have shown her restless creative spirit consistently pushing her in new, exciting, and often unexpected musical directions.

In a continued celebration of his historic performance at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, Joe Bonamassa announces the release of his latest single “The Last Matador Of Bayonne” from the acclaimed live album and film Live At The Hollywood Bowl With Orchestra, out May 17th via J&R Adventures. This emotionally charged song offers listeners a vivid narrative, blending Bonamassa’s signature guitar prowess with the grandeur of a full orchestra, encapsulating the essence of bravery and the contemplative spirit of a matador facing his fate. “The Last Matador Of Bayonne” was arranged by legendary composer David Campbell and also features a captivating trumpet solo by Rashawn Ross, longtime Dave Matthews Band member.

The song was hand-picked from Joe’s 2011 Studio Album “Dust Bowl” to be on this orchestra set. "There’s a Bayonne in France, which is where this song got its title,” Bonamassa shares. “I was doing amphitheater dates in Europe back in 2010 with ZZ Top, and in a lot of these cities, when they say 'Amphitheater,' they’re not kidding. They’re talking about Roman-style bullrings. Over the years, I think they phased out the killing of the bulls. The matadors are there more for show these days. But during one of these gigs, I was standing in one of the areas where the matadors were kept, and I saw this little door. So, I opened it and I saw this little prayer booth, where I guess a matador would sit and pray before going out to face a bull. I started to think, Who was the last guy to do this? It was a great concept for a song - again, to think that you may die doing what you do for a living."

Following the album's lead single, the riveting live rendition of Bobby “Blue” Bland’s classic “Twenty-Four Hour Blues,” “The Last Matador Of Bayonne” continues to showcase Bonamassa's ability to convey deep, resonant stories through his music. This release further emphasizes the dynamic range and emotional depth present throughout Live At The Hollywood Bowl With Orchestra, offering fans a new layer of storytelling woven with blues and rock.

Live At The Hollywood Bowl With Orchestra showcases Bonamassa’s virtuosic blend of blues and rock but also elevates fan-favourite tracks with grandiose orchestral arrangements by some of Hollywood's finest – David Campbell, Trevor Rabin, and Jeff Bova. “Very few gigs represent my journey in music more than the Hollywood Bowl. I moved to Los Angeles in 2003 in search of opportunity and cheaper rent than New York City.  My first gig at The Mint was attended by 5 of my friends and that's all. We have played The Greek Theatre many times since, but the Bowl has always been a dream. The orchestra and the sheer scale of the event and venue is something I will never forget. I am so grateful that we filmed this special event in my life,” reminisces Bonamassa.

Available in CD/DVD, CD/BR, 2 LP Vinyl, and digital formats, the release captures the essence of Bonamassa’s career, highlighting his exceptional talent and the impactful fusion of blues, rock, and orchestral music.

Following the momentum from his U.S. Spring Tour and the ninth annual voyage of his KEEPING THE BLUES ALIVE AT SEA cruise, Bonamassa is set to captivate audiences across Europe with a series of performances, paving the way for his eagerly awaited "Blues Deluxe Tour" in the U.S. this summer. Beginning August 2nd in Selbyville, DE, and culminating in an unforgettable two-night performance in Hampton Beach, NH, on August 30th and 31st, the tour celebrates Bonamassa's seminal albums Blues Deluxe and its chart-topping successor, Blues Deluxe Vol. 2. This 21-city tour will showcase an electrifying mix of Bonamassa's classics and deep tracks live for the first time, alongside a band of world-class musicians. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit www.jbonamassa.com.

Bonamassa's impact on the blues-rock genre is immeasurable. Guitar World has hailed him as "the world's biggest blues guitarist," a testament to his skill, influence, and role in bringing blues-rock to the forefront of the music scene. With a career spanning over three decades, Bonamassa has consistently captivated audiences around the globe with his dynamic live performances and musical ingenuity.

Critically acclaimed Atlanta-based American guitarist Eddie 9V is pleased to announce the release of his new single “Saratoga” on Friday 26th April 2024. Released by Ruf Records, the single is available on all streaming platforms via https://save-it.cc/ruf-records/saratoga.

“Saratoga” is the first single taken from Eddie’s new studio album released later this year.

“Saratoga was written under a perfect western landscape,” says Eddie. “We had an off day on the road and I was sitting on a random Air B&B porch picking a riff I had recently come up with. I was writing all these little lyrics while looking out to a huge mule deer directly in front of me eating grass and carrots that I was throwing to them."

Continues Eddie, “Saratoga has a real, almost desert/disco vibe to it. When it came time to record, we flew to Denver. I wanted to record the forthcoming album in the Rocky Mountains. You definitely get an outdoorsy feel in this song.”

From Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie 9V has made a name for himself in the blues scene in America’s deep south. Wowing all types of audiences with his searing Freddie King-style approach to guitar and his original retro/soul songs. He’s hailed as one of the most dynamic and highly entertaining guitarists and singer songwriters on the music circuit right now. Rock and Blues Muse describes his music as “fresh and life-affirming," while Classic Rock described Eddie’s music as, “the most instinctive blues you'll hear all year."

The new single dovetails Eddie’s May 2024 UK tour which takes in dates at The Grace, London (Monday May 13), Komedia, Brighton (Tuesday May 14), The Bodega, Nottingham (Wednesday May 15), and The Louisiana, Bristol (Thursday May 16).

Blues Rock Review hailed the album in a glowing review, noting, “These guys don’t just write songs for the sake of it, every track takes you on a journey with them, teasing you as they weave their magic, breaking down when you least expect it, building up to a crescendo and pushing you right over the edge, this album has it all and then some.”

“This album exceeds the sum of its parts and has captured possibly the
finest recordings from their collaborative journey together.”
– 10/10 Powerplay Magazine

“V may represent their fifth album, but it could equally denote V for Victory.”
–  5-Stars, R’N’R Magazine

“With the quartet at the top of their game, this hunger to get together and make music seems to have given the outfit a fire and newborn freshness that’s powerful enough to tilt the globe on its axis.”  – Metal Planet Music

V features a collection of tracks that resonate with the band’s signature blend of hard rock and soul-stirring blues, from the powerful lyrics and profound musical composition of Red Sun, to the electrifying single “Enlighten” and the funk-heavy “Stay Free.” Penned by Hughes and Bonamassa, each song takes listeners on a journey, weaving a narrative of power, introspection, and revival.

Since their debut in 2010, Black Country Communion has consistently delivered critically acclaimed albums, masterfully blending British blues-rock with American soul to captivate audiences around the globe. Produced by their long-time collaborator Kevin Shirley, their latest release, ‘V,’ reaffirms their status as rock royalty. This album captures the band’s dynamic sound and evolving artistic expression, celebrating their journey, talent, and enduring vision.

Kentucky's renegade rock and rollers Mojo Thunder will release their sophomore album The Infinite Hope on Friday 16 August 2024. The second single, "Step by Step” debuts today.

Stream the new single HERE. Watch the “Step By Step” music video HERE.

Pre-order The Infinite Hope on CD and vinyl HERE. Pre-save the digital album HERE.

“Step by Step” is an incredibly catchy tune written by Mojo Thunder’s lead singer and rhythm guitarist Sean Sullivan. Bursting with pop sensibilities, “Step by Step” finds a way to turn despair and loneliness into a triumphant stadium-ready anthem.

"Step By Step is about the duality of desiring to be with someone, but also not knowing what to do once you have them,” says Sullivan. “It’s about the fear and anxiety of being alone or not being enough. It's a reminder that you must keep moving forward, putting one foot in front of the other."

Drummer Zac Shoopman adds, "It's probably the first song that indicated a real shift in direction. Step By Step ticks off a lot of boxes that we were yearning for."

From Sullivan's vocal delivery, the infectious guitar lines played by Bryson Willoughby, and the steady groove heavy rhythm section supplied by Zac Shoopman and bass guitarist Andrew Brockman we would agree "Step by Step" does indeed ticks off a lot of boxes.

Comprised of Bryson Willoughby (guitar), Sean Sullivan (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Zac Shoopman (drums) and Andrew Brockman (bass) — The Infinite Hope explores topics such activism ("Caroline"), tragedy ("Memphis") the dark side of the American south ("Holy Ghost”) and searching for truth ("Greetings from Western Art").

Getting a sense of the band's message and morality it's easy to find yourself rooting for them. Mojo Thunder is a rock band built for underdogs and the disenfranchised; perhaps because that's who they are. The Infinite Hope's 10 tracks feel like a secret kept amongst friends. There's a sense of belonging, and as the album title suggests, a call for hope.

Guitarist Bryson Willoughby says, "I think we all grew up feeling like outsiders. I didn't enjoy that, and being conscious of that feeling, we've done our best to build a welcoming community to all walks of life.  Everybody is welcome to our party."

Reflecting on the growth of the band from their debut release, Shoopman says, "To not be pigeonholed into one genre is highly rewarding."

The album was produced by Duane Lundy (Ringo Starr, Justin Wells, Sturgill Simpson) at The Lexington Recording Co in Lexington, Kentucky.

"We all shared the desire to do things as a unit, to perform, to capture as many dynamics as possible, and emotion in the performances, but still putting the priority on the songs," says Lundy about the recording process. "The lyrics are thoughtful and meaningful, something that I feel like is often slighted in current rock material. My main takeaway was the quality of people they are.  Their invitation meant a great deal to me. I feel like I have four new family members."

Renowned blues rock, country, and Americana singer-songwriter and guitarist, Steve Louw, announces the release of his highly anticipated double single, “Killers”/“Streets of Rain,” on Friday, July 12, 2024. The tracks are available on all streaming platforms via https://orcd.co/SteveLouwKillersStreetsofrain.

Both songs are featured on Louw’s eagerly awaited third solo album, Between Time, set for release by BFD Records on Friday, September 6, 2024. The album, available as a 2-CD digipack, double vinyl, and digital, can be pre-ordered and pre-saved from https://orcd.co/SteveLouwBetweenTime.

A Reflection on War and Loss

“Killers” reflects the chaos and devastation of war. Inspired by an audio clip of intercepted radio chatter during the early weeks of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, this intense guitar-driven track encapsulates feelings of helplessness and rage.

“I wanted the song to feel spiritual, powerful, and cutting and exist on different time planes,” says Louw. “When we recorded ‘Killers,’ it felt like we were stepping across into an earlier flickering time.”

Doug Lancio’s overdriven Harmony Rocket guitar, combined with Steve’s acoustic and Rob McNelley’s soulful slide guitar, creates a powerful sonic statement of rage and grief.

“The sound of this track is what I love about making records,” says producer Kevin Shirley. “World-class musicians together, creating art. Capturing those moments and being part of that experience never grows old.”

“Killers” is available on all streaming platforms. Watch the official music video HERE.

The evocative Hammond organ playing of B3 wizard Lachy Doley and the chorused electric guitar and acoustic teases out the melancholy of “Streets of Rain.”

“It’s a song about loss,” says Louw. “Although our pain is personal, you are not alone. When it’s coming down on you, it feels like you’ll never get out of there, but you will.”

“Lachy is one of the greatest Hammond players in the world, right up there with Steve Winwood and Booker T,” says Kevin Shirley. “When I was finishing off ‘Streets of Rain,’ I knew his playing would be perfect. His beautiful solo captures the essence of the song.”

“Streets of Rain” is available on all streaming platforms. Watch the official music video HERE.

A Timeless Journey

Between Time arrives decades into a long career that began in the 1990s when Louw partnered with South African record producer Kevin Shirley while fronting Big Sky. Louw returned to the music scene with his rousingly successful 2021 solo album Headlight Dreams. This was followed by Thunder and Rain, a rich and natural album blending muscular folk and insistent rock.

With Between Time, Louw explores moments that fall outside the strict constructs of time, using imagery that’s both timeless and present. Cut live in the studio with his same band, the music has a transcendent quality, blending craft and inspiration into something mystical.

Stellar Collaborations

The album features contributions from notable musicians, including Joe Bonamassa and Jim Moginie of Midnight Oil. The heartfelt “Killers” flows into the driving “Giants Walk The Land” (co-written with Moginie), and to a new beginning on “Time to Get On.” The band’s chemistry is evident in tracks like the low-down shuffle of “Do Me Good” and the country honk of “Alibi.”

Hearing the band discover the inherent passion and tenderness within the songs is part of the pleasure of Between Time. Their collaborative energy is a crucial element, extending to guest appearances that enhance the album’s rich, compassionate, and heartfelt sound.

Canadian blues, soul, and rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Marcus Trummer is pleased to announce the release of his new upbeat, groove-driven single “Let You Down,” available now on all streaming platforms via Gypsy Soul Records.

Listen to “Let You Down” HERE.

“Let You Down” serves as the first single from Trummer’s highly anticipated debut album, set to release in November. This new track, led by the infectious bass playing of Stacey Shopsowitz and peppered with Trummer’s tasteful guitar licks, features catchy horn arrangements that make it a perfect fit alongside classic soul hits. It’s a danceable, feel-good tune ideal for the summertime.

Written from the perspective of a relationship, the lyrics of “Let You Down” can also be interpreted as an assurance to listeners that Marcus Trummer is here to stay. The main hook, “I won’t let you down as long as the world is turning ‘round,” reflects Trummer’s mentality as a young and ambitious artist, eager to prove himself. If this single is any indication of what’s to come, Marcus Trummer is an artist to keep on your radar as he prepares to share more singles in the coming months.

A young blood with an old soul, Marcus Trummer marries modern sensibilities with tradition in his distinctive style that encompasses blues, soul, and rock. Dubbed “a precocious guitarist whose vocals possess a wise-beyond-his-years weariness” by the Calgary Herald, the Calgary-born artist is already earning critical acclaim and recognition.

In September 2019, Trummer was the recipient of the “Prophets of Music Emerging Artist Award” at Calgary’s YYC Music Awards. In 2022, he won “Blues Recording of the Year” at Calgary’s YYC Music Awards.

In 2022, Trummer snagged a nomination for “New Artist of the Year” at the Maple Blues Awards in Toronto. The following year, he traveled to Colorado to perform as a finalist in the 2023 Telluride Blues Challenge, which he went on to win.

Marcus Trummer’s music draws inspiration from the timeless sounds of the 60s and 70s. With his warm and emotive vocals, Trummer pays respect to classic soul singers like Bill Withers and Al Green. His expressive guitar work channels the impassioned approach of players like B.B. King and Jimi Hendrix. Packed with raw emotion and honesty, Trummer’s songwriting is not to be overlooked. His thoughtful lyrics examine universal subjects of love and coming of age, unpacking experiences that resonate with all listeners.

Mojo Thunder are pleased to announce the release of their new single “Coming Back To You." It’s the fourth single taken from their brand-new studio album The Infinite Hope.

The album is available on vinyl, CD & digital from https://mojothunder.lnk.to/TheInfiniteHope.

Stream the new single on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rFdghKkeaI.

"Coming Back To You" is a fun, uplifting rocker written by guitarist Bryson Willoughby. Lyrically the song reads like a love letter with conviction, passion, and assurance that despite any distance, no path is too far to come back from. Simply put, it’s unfettered devotion that isn't ashamed to be honest.

Sean Sullivan gives a spectacular vocal performance, and Willoughby is perhaps at his most interesting with the guitar work. There's a raw and raucous attack that accompanies the melodically rich tale thanks to the strong rhythm section of bassist Andrew Brockman and drummer Zac Shoopman.

Of the song Willoughby says, "There's a lot of tropes in rock and roll where artists indulge in this toxic machismo. It's boring, overdone, and I wanted to say something real. Something that showed my relationship the respect it deserves, and above all else, was truthful."

Mojo Thunder’s new album, The Infinite Hope explores topics such as activism ("Caroline"), tragedy ("Memphis"), the dark side of the American south ("Holy Ghost'), Love ("Grace," "Coming Back to You") and the search for truth ("Greetings from Western Art"). Champions of self-empowerment and authenticity, the band has cultivated a community built around acceptance. There is a sense of belonging in the music, and as the album title suggests, a call for hope.

Produced by Duane Lundy (Ringo Starr, Justin Wells, Sturgill Simpson) at the Lexington Recording Co. Lundy said, "We all shared the desire to do things as a unit, to perform, to mine for as many dynamics and emotion in their performances, but still putting the priority on the songs," says Lundy about the recording process.

Continues Lundy, "The song lyrics are thoughtful and meaningful, something that I feel like is often slighted in current rock material. My main takeaway was the quality of people they are. Their invitation meant a great deal to me, and I feel like I have four new family members."

Mojo Thunder - Biography

Mojo Thunder is an American rock band from Kentucky composed of Bryson Willoughby (Lead Guitar) Sean Sullivan (vocals, guitar), Andrew Brockman (bass), and Zac Shoopman (drums).

The boys are seated under the shade of a family tree that bears its fruit on the branches of Kings of Leon, and the Black Crowes; deeply rooted in an unwavering respect for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin.

Established in 2018, Mojo Thunder hit the road and quickly gained attention of live music fans with an electrifying show praised for its high energy, heavy grooves, improvised jams, and a familiar, yet new sound. Early studio efforts include two singles, and an EP titled Loose Lips released June 9, 2019.

The debut Hymns from the Electric Church was released on May 24, 2021. Classic Rock Magazine described it as, "a stunner; a sun-dappled potpourri of everything good and true about American rock’n’roll, from crunching hard rock to soulful blues, from breezy cosmic Americana to head-bopping summertime arena-rock anthems." It received a 9/10 review.

On March 7, 2023, the band released the live album Alive, with Friends that showcased the explementary qualities of the band's live performance. It features guest appearances and extended versions of songs spanning from the first single through Hymns from the Electric Church. Recorded over two nights in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, fans were invited to be a part of the band's hometown audience. Supplemental videos from the performances, including non-album material, were released on the band's YouTube channel.

The sophomore album, The Infinite Hope is released August 30, 2024. Fans of rock music will be pleased to see a return to familiar sounds while also ambitiously reaching for new heights. The southern American working-class ethos is put on full display with the newest release as it's made clear that this is a band that will continue to grow and evolve.

Legendary South African blues-rock, roots, and Americana guitarist and singer-songwriter Steve Louw releases his new double album, Between Time, on Friday, September 6th. Available as a 2-CD digipack, double vinyl, and digitally, the album can be purchased from https://orcd.co/SteveLouwBetweenTime.

To coincide with today’s release of Between Time, Louw has unveiled the fourth single from the album, "Cruel Hand of Fate," featuring Joe Bonamassa. You can watch the official music video for "Cruel Hand of Fate" on YouTube HERE.

“Before highways and cars, people traveled by foot, horse, and later by train, if you could afford it or manage to hop aboard,” Louw reflects on the new single. “Trains have always had a mysterious quality, their rhythm coming from a distance and fading into the future. As a kid, I would place coins on the tracks and feel the warm, flattened metal in my hand as the train clattered away.”

Louw continues, “The song is about a traveling musician who feels his time is running out. He needs to catch one last ride to see his love. The rhythm of the song mirrors the train tracks and nods to the journey we all take in life.” Joe Bonamassa contributes a beautifully crafted country-style solo that complements the mysterious tone of "Cruel Hand of Fate." Using a Fender Telecaster B-Bender guitar, Bonamassa creates a pedal steel-like effect, adding a perfect counterpoint to the song’s brooding slide guitar.

Between Time marks another milestone in Louw’s decades-spanning career, which began in the 1990s when he partnered with South African record producer Kevin Shirley while fronting the band Big Sky. This collaboration propelled him to acclaim in his native South Africa. After a decade of silence, Louw roared back onto the scene in 2021 with his solo album Headlight Dreams, which Shirley encouraged him to record. With a stellar band, including keyboardist Kevin McKendree (John Hiatt), drummer Greg Morrow (Billy Gibbons), bassist Alison Prestwood (Buddy Miller), and guitarists Rob McNelley (Hank Williams Jr.) and Doug Lancio (Bob Dylan), Headlight Dreams garnered rave reviews and earned Louw his third South African Music Award nomination.

His follow-up, Thunder and Rain, solidified his return with a rich blend of muscular folk and insistent rock, a sound he has honed over his career. Now, with Between Time, Louw explores moments that transcend the boundaries of time, with songs that merge the past, present, and future, all while employing imagery that feels both timeless and immediate. Recorded live with the same band, the album exudes a transcendent quality, blending craft and inspiration into something mystical.

Three standout tracks were recorded back-to-back on the same day: the heartfelt "Killers," with the line, "Killers with numbers, not names, came killing across the plains," flows into the driving "Giants Walk The Land" (co-written with Midnight Oil’s Jim Moginie), and culminates in the hopeful "Time to Get On," which proclaims, "As we face the sun, it’s time to get on."

The chemistry between Louw and his band is palpable throughout Between Time. Their connection shines on the low-down shuffle of "Do Me Good" and the country honk of "Alibi." They swing hard on "Get Real Gone" and build tension on "Flowers on The Graves of Doves," a ringing and roiling track that evokes the mystery of early R.E.M. You feel the band as much as you hear them, particularly on "Highway to the Sun," the eight-minute finale to this 20-song collection.

Louw is as much a part of the band as he is its leader, his steady, propulsive guitar playing providing the connective tissue alongside his unguarded vocals. Guitarist Jim Moginie’s eclectic sound and creative force enhance the natural power of "Giants Walk The Land," while Hammond maestro Lachy Doley evokes a comforting warmth on "Streets of Rain."

Between Time is filled with compassion and heart, a defining album for an artist who has consistently delivered great music over several decades.

Today, Montreal-based four-piece rock and roll band, The Damn Truth, release their new single and accompanying music video, "Love Outta Luck." This is the second single from their highly anticipated, self-titled fourth studio album, set to be released in the first quarter of 2025. Stream the new single on all DSPs at https://music.spectramusique.com/loveouttaluck. Watch the official music video on YouTube HERE.

The new single coincides with The Damn Truth's first Canadian tour in five years, largely due to their extensive touring in the UK and Europe. Following the Canadian leg, they will embark on a UK tour in November, including appearances at high-profile festivals such as Winterstorm and Planet Rockstock. Tickets for all concerts and festivals are available at www.thedamntruth.com.

Fronted by singer/guitarist Lee-la Baum, The Damn Truth celebrates a kaleidoscope of gutsy, revved-up modern reinterpretations of classic rock. Their forthcoming album, produced by the legendary Bob Rock (Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi), promises to be a landmark release for the band.

"Before we return to the UK, we’re finally touring across Canada for the first time in five years," says Lee-la. "We’re bringing all the UK excitement back home. But UK fans can rest assured that we’ll bring that Canadian excitement back to the UK in November!"

"Love Outta Luck" is the culmination of 12 years of relentless hard work and touring. The Damn Truth is a perpetual, unstoppable rock and roll machine. Their self-titled album marks a new level in their collaboration with Bob Rock, who pushed the band in all aspects of playing, writing, and refining their signature sound, especially showcasing the power of Lee-la Baum’s vocals.

Lee-la recalls the late-night call from Bob Rock that kickstarted it all:
“It’s 3 a.m. in the heart of London. The adrenaline from an epic show supporting Glenn Hughes is still coursing through my veins as I collapse into my hotel room. Just as I start to unwind, my phone jolts me awake. It’s Bob Rock! The same Bob Rock I’d sent our demos to just hours earlier. Anticipation fills the air as I answer the call.

‘Hello?’
‘Hi there, it’s Bob!’
‘How are you, Bob?’ I reply, barely able to contain my excitement.
‘I’m great! I listened to the new songs first thing this morning and had to call you right away. It’s awesome! Probably the best songs you guys have ever written. I’m excited to see you guys in a few weeks. Let’s make a record!’”

"A powerful statement of dynamic pop-metal gold." – Classic Rock
"The Damn Truth are smashing the boundaries and stereotypes of the rock world." – Powerplay Magazine
"Absolutely incredible! This gig left me speechless. Undoubtedly the best performance I’ve witnessed all year." – Rock News UK

The Commoners are pleased to announce the release of their title track single, "Restless," available on all streaming platforms from Friday, September 13th. The single is taken from their critically acclaimed third studio album, Restless, available at www.thecommoners.ca/store.

Watch the official music video for the new single "Restless" on YouTube HERE.

In support of the new single, The Commoners will hit the road for a major tour from November through December 2024 across Europe and the UK, opening for Canadian music heavyweights The Sheepdogs, culminating with a coveted slot at the Planet Rockstock Festival on December 1st.

Tickets for all concerts are available at www.thecommoners.ca/tour.

With lead singles "Devil Teasin’ Me," "The Way I Am," and "Shake You Off" all earning spots on Planet Rock’s main playlist, the band continues to turn heads with their crisp tones, lush production, and spirited melodies. From the speakers to the stage, one thing is certain: The Commoners are ushering in a party rock renaissance, and we’re all invited.

The Commoners (L-R): Ross Hayes Citrullo (lead guitar), Miles Evans Branagh (keys), Chris Medhurst (lead vocals, guitar), Adam Cannon (drums), Ben Spiller (bass). Photo by Paul Wright.

The Commoners are experiencing great success with their current album, Restless. The album features ten tracks that grip and groove, delivering a hearty dose of Southern-style swagger with every guitar slide, organ swell, and vocal stamp.

Says Blues Rock Review, “With Restless, The Commoners have crafted yet another impressive album that is both a tribute to their commitment to reviving a classic era and a step in the direction of solidifying the group as one of the most exciting acts in contemporary rock.”

Riding high on the strength of their second album, Find A Better Way, the past two years have been a whirlwind for the band. From a UK tour with Grammy-nominated duo Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton in the fall of 2023 to headline dates across Europe and Britain this year, The Commoners are a must-see act.

Possessing a sound tapped from the oaken belly of a whiskey barrel, The Commoners are a five-piece roots rock band from Toronto, Canada. Offering their own blend of a tried-and-true musical mixture, the group peppers their sound with high-energy riffs, soulful vocals, and rich harmonies, taking the listener on a journey through a Southern-style rock experience.

The band is a culmination of like-minded musicians who have bonded over their love of the classics. All seasoned performers in the Canadian music scene, Chris Medhurst (lead vocals/guitar), Ben Spiller (bass, vocals), Ross Hayes Citrullo (lead guitar), Adam Cannon (drums, vocals), and Miles Evans-Branagh (keys, vocals) have united under a shared dream: to write and perform music as an authentic nod to the greats who paved the way before them.

“Chris Medhurst is one of the great vocal discoveries of recent years,” says The Midlands Rocks.

“The Black Crowes and Led Zeppelin are big influences for us,” says Commoners lead singer, Chris Medhurst. “Derek Trucks, Marcus King, and the Allman Brothers as well. These are the bands that we wear on our sleeves as we continue to evolve and create our own music.”

Channeling their deep respect and admiration for roots rock trailblazers, The Commoners also incorporate rhythmic stylings inspired by Motown and Soul's groove masters. The keystone of their unique blend is lead singer Chris Medhurst’s emotive vocal style, akin to Burton Cummings and Paul Rodgers, with a dash of Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.

A natural evolution from their 2022 album, Find A Better Way, Restless offers a peek behind the curtain of success, revealing the grueling routines and raw emotions that hide behind the glamorous aesthetic of a rock band on the rise. With introspective, slower-tempo numbers nestled amongst rip-roaring anthems, the new album is a portrait of a hardworking group revitalizing a classic genre.

Canadian blues, soul, and rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Marcus Trummer is pleased to announce his new single “Holding Out For You” released Friday 18th October. The single is available on all streaming platforms HERE.

Watch the official “Holding Out For You” music video on YouTube HERE.

“Holding Out For You” is the fourth and final single taken from Trummer’s highly anticipated studio album From The Start. The album, released by Gypsy Soul Records on Friday 15th November 2024, is available to pre-order on vinyl and CD HERE.

“This song delves into the bittersweet emotions of "the one that got away," says Trummer. “It captures the lingering reflections on a past relationship that, for one reason or another, couldn't stand the test of time.”

Continues Trummer, “The lyrics explore the yearning for what could have been, underscoring the deep connection that once existed. Despite the heartache, there's a faint glimmer of hope woven through the song—a belief that maybe, just maybe, circumstances will shift in the future, and the love that slipped through the cracks might find its way back. It's a poignant tribute to love lost, but not entirely forgotten, with emotions that balance between nostalgia, regret, and quiet optimism.”

Produced and mixed by The Commoners’ guitarist Ross Hayes Citrullo and Renan Yildizdogan (Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, Bywater Call, The Commoners), From the Start features Silas Trummer (drums) and Stacey Shopsowitz (bass).

The album also features contributions from two members of the Commoners, who made a significant impact in the UK and Europe this year: Miles Evans-Branagh (keys and piano), and Adam Cannon (drums). Additionally, the album features two-time Juno nominee, Canadian soul sensation Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar's horn section, with Tom Moffett (trumpet) and Andrew Moljgun (saxophone). The soulful background vocals are provided by Gypsy Soul recording artist Nicky Lawrence.

From The Start is Marcus Trummer’s debut record. A young blood with an old soul, Trummer marries modern sensibilities with tradition in his distinctive style that encompasses blues, soul, and rock. Dubbed “a precocious guitarist whose vocals possess a wise-beyond-his-years weariness,” by the Calgary Herald, the Calgary-born artist is already earning critical acclaim and recognition.

In September 2019, Trummer was the recipient of the “Prophets of Music Emerging Artist Award” at Calgary’s YYC Music Awards. In 2022, he won “Blues Recording of the Year” at Calgary’s YYC Music Awards.

In 2022, Trummer received a nomination for “New Artist of the Year” at the Maple Blues Awards in Toronto. The following year, he travelled to Colorado to perform as a finalist in the 2023 Telluride Blues Challenge, which he would go on to win.

Trummer’s music draws inspiration from the timeless sounds of the 60s and 70s.

MARCUS TRUMMER – ALBUM TRACK BY TRACK

1. Holding Out For You
This is a song about “the one that got away,” so to speak. It’s a reflection on a past relationship that didn’t work out, and that sliver of hope that someday circumstances might change, and it would work out.

2. Let You Down
Simply put, this song articulates an assurance of commitment to a relationship. Although written from the perspective of a romantic relationship, I hope listeners can also interpret the lyrics as a statement of my dedication to them. I take the relationships in my life seriously, and that includes the relationships with the people who support my music.

3. Hard Time
This one is about the fact that love is ultimately what matters and is what we need to be aimed at spreading. Our world is truly a crazy and chaotic place, with what feels like endless division, conflict, and tragedy. With all the pain and suffering out there, I believe love is the only answer. It can be easy to forget when you’re caught up in the daily grind of it all, but it truly is everything and I try to keep that in mind.

4. Waiting For Change
I wrote this song after feeling powerless to change things going on in society and in politics that I felt weren’t right. It’s a message of empowerment that serves as a reminder to me and others that you don’t have to be complacent with the direction culture is going in. Life is too short to waste time being afraid to stand up for what we believe in.

5. The Only Thing
I lean on my classic blues influences more for this song than any other on the record. It’s a slow blues and is a nod to one of my biggest blues heroes B.B. King.

6. From The Start
This song is about looking back as a relationship is failing and realizing how it clearly wasn’t meant to be from the start. They say hindsight is 20/20 and that can be so true, especially in a romantic context where your feelings in the beginning can taint your perspective of reality.

7. Break My Fall
This is a song about struggling with loneliness while taking a unique path in life. Being an up-and-coming musician can feel isolating at times, it’s a lot of work and a lot of being misunderstood. I think it’s the combination of being busy, traveling a lot, and not having a conventional experience that’s relatable to others that causes this. I wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else's, but it does come with some challenges.

8. Not The Same
This song speaks to the process of growth and how it can be hard to shed your past identity as you evolve. This is especially the case when others don’t recognize your change immediately and still view you as your past self. Sometimes you need to make it clear that you are not the same.

9. Ready To Go
This is about falling out of love with the place I grew up in after watching it become something I no longer liked. It was born out of some dark times I experienced personally where I was going through a lot of changes, and I had become disenchanted with my community. At the time, I was pretty hopeless and lost. It felt like the world as I knew it would never be the same.

10. Let The Devil Win
This song is somewhat of a response to the previous one. It’s a call to action to anyone who feels things are headed in the wrong direction. Ultimately, being overcome by sadness with what’s going on is not the answer. The only way forward is to find it in you to fight for what is right and strive to be a force for good in the world, despite the resistance you may encounter.

Critically acclaimed Texas based blues rock guitarist and vocalist Ally Venable will release her highly anticipated new studio album Money & Power via Ruf Records on Friday 18 April 2025. The album is available to pre-order HERE.

Rules are there to be broken. Expectations are there to be defied. Glass ceilings are there to be shattered. Having spent the past decade carving out her own unique space in the male-dominated world of blues-rock, Ally Venable’s combative sixth album, Money & Power, demands more of both – for herself, for women around the world, and for anyone else who thought they weren’t worthy of a seat at the table.

“Money & Power is such a strong statement, especially for women,” says the award-winning Texas gunslinger of her Nashville-recorded new release, on which Ally’s crack-squad band is joined by A-list guests Shemekia Copeland and Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.

“All the songs on this album showcase the theme of what it truly means to be a force to be reckoned with. I want this record to wake people up,” continues Ally.

Money and power make the world go round. But in the right hands, music can be every bit as potent. Right now, on the heels of 2023’s acclaimed Real Gone – an album that hit #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and was still in contention a year later – Ally is rated amongst the best young singer-songwriters in American roots, saluted by Total Guitar magazine in its poll of Top 100 Blues Guitarists.

“With her heels, sequins and Les Paul growling on a leash, she’s one of Ruf’s most head-turning young artists,” wrote Classic Rock, “and while the instrumental prowess can be taken as read, Real Gone marks a growing maturity in the Texan’s songcraft.”

In February 2024, with the dust still settling from Real Gone, the Money & Power sessions saw Ally and producer/drummer Tom Hambridge push through the doors of Nashville’s famous Soundstage Studios. And while the studio band was strictly A-list, as always, Ally’s new songs are the real stars. That attitude is palpable on opener “Brown Liquor,” Ally’s battlecry decorated by a stinging guest guitar solo from the Mississippi hotshot Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.

“Maybe Someday” is a blissful moment of redemptive soul, carried along by horns and barbed lyrics aimed at an old flame. Next up is the white-hot title track, with Ally’s guitar set to scorch and a seething message.

“Money & Power shouts to the masses,” she explains, “that women are not to be doubted in their ability to thrive in the world.”

Vital right to the end, Money & Power plays out with “Stepping Stone’s” earthy roar of empowerment, the shuddering, spooky, tremolo-soaked groove of “Feel That Sting,” and the dust-blown rocker “Unbreakable,” where Ally goes toe-to-toe with New York powerhouse Shemekia Copeland.

“That song spreads a message of women that have been oppressed,” she says, “to rise to the occasion and break above it all.”

Money & Power is a modern roots record that plays by its own rules and marches to the beat of its own drum. The same could be said for Ally herself. “I’m thrilled to release this album,” she says. “For me, it’s a sonic embodiment of a woman’s unstoppable ambition, and showcases my musicality on all fronts. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one will take me.”

One of the most electrifying guitarists of her generation, Samantha Fish, has consistently captivated audiences with her unparalleled energy, boldness, emotional depth and unique blend of rock and soul. Known for her expressive guitar playing and powerhouse performances, Fish's career hit warp speed with the release of her last album, 2023’s Death Wish Blues, which hit #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart, and earned her a Grammy nomination, plus invitations to support The Rolling Stones, Jon Spencer, Slash and more.

This April, the Kansas City-bred, New Orleans-based musician will unveil her fiercest work to date with a new studio album Paper Doll (Rounder Records). Produced by Detroit garage-rock legend Bobby Harlow (The Go) - with assistance from fellow Detroit luminary Mick Collins (The Gories) on one track - each of the songs on Paper Doll are delivered with visceral force, soul-soothing empathy, and newfound clarity. “It’s taken me years to finally find my voice in a studio setting,” Fish admits. “But with this record, I took everything I had and slammed it right on the table.” The theme of unapologetic defiance runs throughout the album, as Fish explores new depths of vulnerability and self-expression and confronts love, loss, and personal growth.

Tracked in Austin at The Orb and Los Angeles at Savannah Studios, the 9-song collection was recorded during a gruelling touring schedule, ultimately capturing the untamed energy of her live performances. “I’d never made a record on the road like that,” Fish reveals. “Even though it was intense, it felt good to keep up the momentum from the live show. It helped us make an album that’s got a real living, breathing pulse to it.” The album features touring bandmates Ron Johnson (bass), Jamie Douglass (drums), and Mickey Finn (keys).

With today’s announcement, Fish has released the album’s lead single “Sweet Southern Sounds.” Co-written with fellow New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Anders Osborne, the track is a gripping meditation on the struggle to balance passion and personal connections, topped with smoldering riffs and lush organ melodies.

“It’s an anthem about being on the road and feeling guilty about not prioritizing the people in your life,” says Fish. “It’s hard to find that balance between taking care of your relationships and dedicating yourself to your music, and there’s definitely a tinge of heartache to that song.”

Blues-rock powerhouse Joe Bonamassa is back with a brand-new single, "Shake This Ground," out now via J&R Adventures. A bold, anthemic call to shake free from the past and present, the track pulses with raw intensity, pairing Bonamassa’s masterful guitar work with gripping storytelling and an unrelenting rhythm.

Co-written by Bonamassa and James House, “Shake This Ground” is about hitting a rough patch in a relationship and finding a way to shake things up before it’s too late. The song’s steady rhythm and heartfelt lyrics capture the moment when two people recognise the need to break out of a rut and get back to what made them strong in the first place. Bonamassa’s rich, expressive vocals bring both grit and warmth to the track, making every word feel real and lived-in. Lines like “Ain’t saying that I have all the answers, ‘cause I got more questions than I need” speak to the uncertainty that can creep into any relationship, while the powerful chorus is all about moving forward—a hopeful and inspirational reminder that it’s never too late to turn things around.

Produced by longtime collaborator Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Journey), “Shake This Ground” expands Bonamassa’s ever-evolving sound while staying rooted in his blues-rock foundation and is the first glimpse from his upcoming new studio album slated for later this year. The track arrives on the heels of his recent collaboration with Sammy Hagar on the searing single "Fortune Teller Blues," further cementing Bonamassa’s place at the forefront of modern blues.

"This is a song that James House and I wrote randomly that did not seem to find a home until almost a year later,” Bonamassa recalls. “I love the way James writes lyrics. The lines sing themselves and have a good amount of meaning now. All good songs find their time and place eventually."

The release of “Shake This Ground” comes amid a whirlwind year for Bonamassa, who is currently on the road for his 2025 U.S. Tour, including a SOLD OUT show at The Beacon Theatre in New York City this week. Following his sold-out U.S. dates, Bonamassa will set sail on the 10th Anniversary Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea X Cruise (March 21-26), a premier floating blues festival featuring an all-star lineup, including Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Larkin Poe, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Samantha Fish, Joanne Shaw Taylor and many more. For tour and more information visit www.jbonamassa.com.

This summer, Bonamassa will also return to Europe for a headline tour, followed by a run of dates with Black Country Communion, his hard-hitting supergroup with Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze), Jason Bonham (Sammy Hagar, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin), and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Sons Of Apollo).

Beyond the stage, Bonamassa continues his mission to support music education and emerging artists through the Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation, providing scholarships, instruments, and funding for music programs. To date, the foundation has supported over 110,000 students in all 50 states, funded 700+ music projects and raised over $2.8 Million dollars. For more information visit www.ktba.org.

British blues-rock phenom Joanne Shaw Taylor digs deep on her latest single, “Look What I’ve Become”—a haunting reflection on addiction, isolation, and the moment of choosing whether to fight or let go. The gripping new track, released today via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records, blends minor-key blues intensity with the cinematic sweep of a Bond theme, anchoring some of Joanne’s most confessional songwriting and driving it home with her incredible signature guitar tone.

“My bones have grown so old, the world is only cold,” she sings over gritty, shadow-drenched guitar tones, capturing a soul in reckoning. With a voice both weary and defiant, she delivers the devastating refrain: “Don’t miss me when I’m gone / I’m nothing now but numb.”

“This one’s about hitting that crossroads,” Joanne shares. “It’s about the moment where you either change everything or disappear. The lyrics came from a very honest place—and I wanted the music to match that intensity.”

“Look What I’ve Become” follows Joanne’s recent run of acclaimed singles, including the fearless “What Are You Gonna Do Now,” the high-octane “Hell Of A Good Time,” the emotionally charged “Grayer Shade of Blue,” and her defiant anthem “I Gotta Stop Letting You Let Me Down.” Together, they paint a vivid portrait of a woman reclaiming her story—set against the diverse sonic palette of her forthcoming album, Black & Gold, out June 6th.

Produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Journey, Aerosmith), Black & Gold finds Joanne pushing the boundaries of blues rock with raw vulnerability, sweeping cinematic textures, and moments of explosive swagger. From the retro shimmer of her cover of Sam Sparro’s “Black & Gold” to the soulful ache of “Who’s Gonna Love Me Now,” each track reveals a new facet of Joanne’s artistry.

With more than a decade of critically acclaimed releases under her belt—and endorsements from legends like Stevie Wonder and Annie Lennox—Joanne Shaw Taylor continues to redefine modern blues. Her partnership with Journeyman Records allows her to release music on her terms, reaching fans without compromise.

Joanne is currently gearing up for an extensive U.S. Spring Tour following her appearance on Keeping The Blues Alive at Sea X alongside Bonamassa. Fans can expect to hear material from Black & Gold along with fan favourites and blistering blues classics—all delivered with the fiery musicianship that has made her a standout in today’s blues-rock scene.

To coincide with the news, the band is excited to announce a series of July 2025 UK tour dates, including a performance at Maid of Stone Festival on Sunday, July 20th. The band will also play Chester Live Rooms (July 17), Nottingham Bodega (July 18), and London’s The Grace (July 19). Tickets are available from www.weareparkerbarrow.com/tour.

The band’s 2023 debut album, Jukebox Gypsies, featured prominently on “Best of 2023” lists. Now, the Nashville blues rockers return guns a-blazing with one of their most exciting new songs to date, “Make It,” featuring the unforgettable vocals of Megan Kane.

Written and composed by Dylan Turner (drums) and Alex Bender (guitar), “Make It” is the first track released from the band’s highly anticipated album due later this year.

Parker Barrow’s name is taken from Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the infamous American bank robbers during the early 1930s Great Depression.

Parker Barrow is a high-energy, blues-infused southern rock ‘n’ roll band led by husband-and-wife duo Megan Kane (lead vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums). A chance encounter brought Kane and Turner together in 2019, when Turner was searching for a new singer for his band. The pair immediately hit it off, and within two weeks they were on the road together in full-time pursuit of a mutual musical dream. The couple has been riding the highs and lows of rock ’n’ roll road life ever since.

In 2023, Parker Barrow expanded with the full-time inclusion of guitarist and musical director Alex Bender. At the foundation of Parker Barrow’s sound is the heavy-handed groove of Turner’s drumming, with Kane’s soulful and electrifying vocals soaring over the top. The pair’s dynamics are brilliantly stitched together by Alex’s creative riffs and spirited playing throughout the songs.

Parker Barrow’s compelling vintage sound contains elements of rock, southern rock, blues, and soul, but the band’s music is unmistakably and distinctly their own. They command an impressive mix of old and new influences, threaded throughout their distinctive sound, including the Allman Brothers, the Black Crowes, Blackberry Smoke, Johnny Cash, the Rolling Stones, Tedeschi-Trucks, Whiskey Myers, and Led Zeppelin.

Parker Barrow’s 2023 debut album, Jukebox Gypsies, received rave reviews. “Count Your Dollars” was the first single and video from the album. The official music video for the follow-up single, “Back To Birmingham,” racked up over a million views on YouTube.

For the new single “Make It,” the band returned to producer Stephen McKnight, who was also responsible for producing their debut album, Jukebox Gypsies.

“‘Make It’ was a fun song to write,” says Dylan. “It allowed us to show a more playful side of the band, both lyrically and musically. The song is a sweet concoction of heavy drums, loud guitars, and screaming vocals. The time changes give us room to balance the groove and high-energy swing feel that are both so prominent in classic southern rock ‘n’ roll.”

“We knew right from the jump that ‘Make It’ would be the first single for the new album,” adds Megan. “It had our ‘it’ as a song, and we immediately thought of making it (pardon the pun) a staple in our live show—high energy to get you moving, with an edginess true to the band’s rock ‘n’ roll spirit.”

Alex adds, “Sometimes songs can take weeks, months, or even years to complete, and we found the process in this case to be the contrary. ‘Make It’ came together quickly. We really enjoyed the process of writing and recording ‘Make It’ and feel that the track encompasses what Parker Barrow is all about.”

A video for “Make It” was shot on location in Nashville and was directed and produced by Keith Leman, whose credentials include Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wade, Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Kenny Chesney, and Willie Nelson.

Booked worldwide by Intrepid Artists International, Parker Barrow has become well known for their electrifying, full-throttle live shows, where no two performances are the same. Their songs are often infused with extended jams that move seamlessly through the emotional spectrum.

This year, the band is on the road in the U.S., performing concerts with Robert Jon & The Wreck, Them Dirty Roses, the Kentucky Headhunters, and Feel. Parker Barrow’s shows have become legendary. They are a well-oiled rock ’n’ roll machine on stage, delivering a captivating live presence and infectious energy. Don’t miss your chance to catch them live!

Critically acclaimed Canadian roots-rock band The Commoners are back and ready to kick off their biggest year yet!

Riding high off the strength of their previous releases, Find A Better Way and Restless, The Commoners return to the EU/UK in May 2025 for a four-week tour across five countries, bringing with them a brand-new offering: a nine-song live album, The Commoners: Live in the UK, recorded during their 2024 tour. The album will be released by Gypsy Soul Records on May 16th.

The album is available to pre-order on CD and vinyl HERE, and to pre-save digitally HERE.

Introducing nine new live recordings designed to get you moving and shaking—songs you already know and love, now infused with added parts, extended sections, and the raw energy of a live UK performance from 2024.

“The UK has become a second home for us,” says Commoners bassist Ben Spiller. “Over the last couple of years, we’ve had the pleasure of rocking dozens of shows during four UK tours. Every time we head back, things get bigger and better. On our last run with The Sheepdogs, we had the idea to record a few of our final shows. The recordings sounded huge, and we immediately knew we had to do something with them.”

Mixed and mastered by The Commoners’ lead guitarist Ross Hayes Citrullo at RHC Music in Toronto, this album features nine tracks from Find A Better Way and Restless, with extended intros, outros, solos, and brand-new, never-before-heard parts.

“This album means a lot to the band because what you hear is 100% authentically us,” says Citrullo. “It’s the true Commoners live show experience, captured from the perspective of a fan in the crowd. It’s loose, heavy, and full of energy. We were wrapping up a long tour when we recorded this… the band was riding high. You can feel the energy in the room—it’s electric.”

The first live single, “The Way I Am,” will be available on all streaming platforms Friday, April 18th.

“‘Paper Doll’—a smoky, aching, blues masterpiece.
It’s pure Samantha: vulnerable and defiant all at once.”
– Rock News, 10/10

“‘Paper Doll’ is one of Samantha Fish’s best albums to date.”

Samantha Fish delivers a bold ride across rock, country, blues, and a punk in
just over 36 minutes. She shows her range without losing her signature grit.”
– Rock The Joint

Samantha was Grammy-nominated for “Contemporary Blues Album of the Year” for her collaboration with Jesse Dayton on Death Wish Blues. Total Guitar voted Samantha as one of the “Top 100 Greatest Blues Guitarists” of all-time. In 2024, she joined Slash on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. US tour.

Samantha will play a selection of songs from her new album Paper Doll, plus tracks from her rich back catalogue of albums including Wild Heart, Chills & Fever, Belle of the West, Death Wish Blues, Faster, and Kill or Be Kind.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday June 6th from Gigantic.com, Planetrocktickets.co.uk, and joanneshawtaylor.com.

The general on-sale coincides with Joanne’s new studio album Black & Gold released by Journeyman Records on Friday June 6th.

The album is available on vinyl, CD and digital HERE.

The tour kicks off at Bath Forum (Wednesday September 24th) and continues at York Barbican (Thursday September 25th), Wolverhampton Wulfren Hall (Saturday September 27th), Eastbourne Devonshire Park Theatre (Sunday September 28th), and London Cadogan Hall (Thursday October 9th).

Don’t miss Joanne Shaw Taylor live with her powerhouse band as she hits the stage with songs from her brand-new album Black & Gold. Known for her blazing guitar work and soulful voice, Joanne fuses blues, rock, soul, and pop into an unforgettable live performance. The evening will also include fan favourites from past albums and nods to blues greats. Widely regarded as one of today’s most electrifying live acts, Joanne Shaw Taylor guarantees an unforgettable night of musical brilliance.

Watch “Hell Of A Good Time,” from Joanne’s latest album Black & Gold available HERE.

Joanne will also perform songs from her rich back catalogue of albums including Heavy Soul, Nobody’s Fool, and The Blues Album which topped Billboard Magazine’s Official Blues Album Chart.

The Blues Album was voted #1 Most Played Blues Album of 2021 by the Independent Blues Broadcaster’s Association. Joanne will also perform select songs from her older album Reckless Heart, Wild, The Dirty Truth, Almost Always Never, Diamonds in the Dirt, and White Sugar.

One of the highlights from Joanne’s new Black & Gold album is “Look What I’ve Become”—a haunting reflection on addiction, isolation, and the moment of choosing whether to fight or let go. The gripping track blends minor-key blues intensity with the cinematic sweep of a Bond theme, anchoring some of Joanne’s most confessional songwriting and driving it home with her incredible signature guitar tone.

“This song’s about hitting that crossroads,” Joanne shares. “It’s about the moment where you either change everything or disappear. The lyrics came from a very honest place—and I wanted the music to match that intensity.” Watch the official music video HERE.

Always one to push boundaries, Joanne's union with Joe Bonamassa's Journeyman Records continues to flourish, ensuring that her music reaches her global fanbase. This relationship, alongside her innate creativity, guarantees a stream of sensational releases that cuts through the industry noise.

Discovered by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics when she was a mere 16-years-old and subsequently invited to tour the world, Joanne's rise to stardom, propelled by endorsements from music giants like Stevie Wonder and Annie Lennox, remains unmatched.

With a discography boasting chart-toppers like Reckless Heart, The Blues Album, and 2024’s Heavy Soul, Joanne is unstoppable. As she celebrates her highly anticipated new studio album Black & Gold, fans can expect a cocktail of her signature guitar riffs, emotive vocals, and inspired songwriting.

For the first time in their nearly 50-year musical careers, legendary guitar icons Joe Satriani and Steve Vai have united to form The SATCHVAI Band. The iconic guitarists will embark on an electrifying summer tour across the UK and Europe.

The first two UK concerts at York Barbican on Friday June 13th and London Eventim Apollo on Saturday June 14th are sold out!

Tickets are available for the remaining UK shows at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (Tuesday June 17th), Wolverhampton Civic Hall (Wednesday June 18th), and Manchester O2 Apollo (Thursday June 19th).

Tickets are available from https://comm.tix.to/SatchVaiBand and http://satchvaiband.com.

The full band line-up features powerhouse drummer Kenny Aronoff, renowned bassist Marco Mendoza, and virtuoso guitarist Pete Thorn to complete a stellar quintet that is the SATCHVAI Band.

Satriani and Vai, along with each of their respective bands, initially joined forces for their first-ever tour together, outside of the G3 format, the past spring (2024) across select U.S. cities. They decided it was finally time to form a band together and bring that winning formula to the live stage, beginning in Europe.

Celebrating nearly five decades of musical friendship, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai made their first musical collaboration debut in March 2024. “The Sea of Emotion, Pt. 1” highlights the unmatched synergy between these two legendary guitarists as they seamlessly trade solo sections throughout the six-minute opus.

Their latest single “I Wanna Play My Guitar” featuring Glenn Hughes is available on all streaming platforms HERE, and can be seen on YouTube HERE.

Satch and Vai’s musical careers have been intertwined since their very early days. Satriani served as Vai’s guitar teacher during their teenage years on Long Island, New York. Their connection has continued to evolve over the years, even sharing record labels, starting at Relativity Records in the late 80’s, to both calling Sony/Epic Records home for a significant portion of the 90’s. Together, they have also frequently teamed up with a third guitarist on multiple occasions throughout the span of three decades, participating in the semi-annual G3 Tours, both in the U.S. and abroad.

“The SATCHVAI Band Tour is happening! I’m so looking forward to sharing the stage with Steve again,” says Satriani. “Every time we play together, it takes me back to when we were teenagers, eating and breathing music every second of the day, pushing, challenging, and helping each other to be the best we could be. I guess we’ve never stopped!”

Vai adds, “Touring with Joe is always a pleasure and an honor. He is my favorite guitarist to jam with, and now we have another opportunity to take it to the stage. I feel as though we are both at the top of our game, and the show will be a powerful celebration of the coolest instrument in the world, the electric guitar!”
