Kauaʻi Community Radio proudly presents the 2nd Annual Grateful Dead Marathon, Your Terrapin Station, taking place May 30, 2026. The all-day event serves as a fundraiser for KKCR, the non-commercial, independent community radio station serving the island of Kauaʻi and beyond.

Your Terrapin Station will broadcast live from 9:00 a.m. HST through midnight in Hawaiʻi, featuring rare and exclusive Grateful Dead content alongside live shows presented by longtime Dead family friend David Gans in cahoots with KKCR’s own Dead-dedicated DJs.

The marathon begins at:

12:00 p.m. PT
1:00 p.m. MT
2:00 p.m. CT
3:00 p.m. ET

Listeners can tune in live at kkcr.org or through the free KKCR app available in app stores.

Fans are encouraged to call 808-826-7771 to speak directly with the DJs or send live messages on-air through the website or app. Donations supporting community radio can be made at kkcr.org or by calling 808-826-7774.

In conjunction with the broadcast, KKCR will also host an exclusive online auction featuring limited-edition photos, Grateful Dead apparel, and legacy memorabilia. The auction opens at noon HDT on May 16.

Everyone who donates to Your Terrapin Station on May 30 will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a year-long subscription to nugs.net, where fans can stream concerts straight from the stage to their devices. Two winners will be selected.

Kauaʻi Community Radio remains Kauaʻi’s #1 independent, listener-supported, volunteer-powered non-commercial radio station, committed to perpetuating Native Hawaiian culture and music, amplifying community voices, and stimulating, educating, and entertaining its audience.

KKCR is among the community radio stations impacted by the shutdown of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting last September, which resulted in the loss of a significant portion of the station’s yearly budget.

“Raising up independent voices and keeping them solid and strong is now up to us,” organizers shared. “Keep community radio stations thriving and able to play the music you love.”
