SusAF Continues Fiery Clarion Call With “The Great Divider”

The 2x GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter, and guitarist, with worldwide sales exceeding 25 million records, drops a forceful second single under a defiant nom de guerre.

“The Great Divider” is available now via Nashville’s Vere Music. Listen HERE.

The track is also featured on Apple Music’s “New in Rock” playlist.

“Where another artist might dress up indignation in metaphor or retreat into tasteful ambiguity, SusAF opts for direct address and leaves the polish to someone else. The project’s governing idea is simple: take the friction of high-energy rock ’n’ roll and use it to grind away euphemism. What emerges is music that makes hypocrisy sound as ugly as it is.” — The Riff

SusAF continues its provocative musical undertaking with today’s premiere of “The Great Divider,” available now via Nashville’s Vere Music. Taut with disconsolate wrath and tub-thumping power, the track begins not unlike a folk anthem before exploding into an electrifying call to arms against “a wannabe bastard aristocracy/all spilling over with hypocrisy.”

“I’m just holding up a mirror,” says SusAF. “We are living with a leader that is purposely dividing us every chance he gets.”

“The Great Divider” marks the title track from SusAF’s upcoming three-song debut EP, The Great Divider, arriving everywhere this summer. SusAF made its uncompromising musical debut last month with “Alternate Reality.” Now, with “The Great Divider” — and more challenging new music to follow — SusAF takes a resolved stand for what he believes, expressing his heart and mind through the power of high-energy rock ‘n’ roll.

About SusAF:

SusAF throws an uncompromising musical grenade into our broken discourse with The Great Divider, a startling new EP that takes a provocative stand against the powers that be in a country torn asunder by factions, fabrications and false prophets.

A clarion call of rock ‘n’ roll rage and rabble-rousing rebellion in just eight concise minutes, The Great Divider is what SusAF describes as “his aural equivalent of graffiti,” a kind of spontaneous activist splatter painting that directly challenges partisan duplicity, retrograde anti-humanistic policy, and above all, the disenfranchisement caused by corrupt media factions and a political class that abjectly amplifies blatant propaganda and easily disprovable mistruths.

Recorded entirely on his own over the past six months, SusAF built The Great Divider from the ground up, playing every instrument in his Charleston, SC home studio. The multi-talented songwriter, musician, and producer dug into his longtime passion for bands like Minor Threat and early Replacements to create a trio of short, sharp shocks unlike anything in his multiplatinum body of work thus far.

The project marks the first-ever release as SusAF from the 2x GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter and guitarist with sales of more than 25M records, not previously known for incendiary agit-punk, choosing to adopt the insurgent nom de guerre for The Great Divider with deliberately overt intention: “Because I’m suspect as fuck of what is happening right now. That’s it. Simple.”
