Bring Joy Sets Sail with Psychedelic Instrumental “Sailor’s Dream”

North Bay jamgrass band Bring Joy has released its new single, “Sailor’s Dream,” a psychedelic instrumental rooted in the exploratory tradition of the Grateful Dead while drawing inspiration from the expansive sounds of Pink Floyd and Billy Strings.

Bring Joy is the latest project from guitarist and songwriter Jason Beard, a founding member of Northern California bluegrass-jam band Poor Man’s Whiskey. The group brings together original jam, bluegrass, Americana and rock, leaving space for improvisation and musical exploration.

Alongside its original material, Bring Joy has developed full-set reinterpretations of music by Pink Floyd, the Allman Brothers Band, Billy Strings, Phish and other artists whose work lends itself to extended live performance. “Sailor’s Dream” offers a glimpse of that open-ended approach in an original instrumental built for listeners drawn to psychedelic textures, acoustic roots and the jam tradition.
